We booked the whole restaurant for a family event one Sunday lunchtime. Sarah the chef/owner was so helpful in making arrangements beforehand in selecting the menu and catering for people’s various dietary needs. She took the trouble to note who was having which dish, to help the serving out and this created a friendly atmosphere on the day too. The room was set out as we’d like it with long tables. The meal was delicious and everyone enjoyed it (our ages ranged from 6 to 80). The serving staff were friendly and efficient. All in all it was a perfect event and we’re very grateful that we found the restaurant on an earlier trip to suss out the area. Highly recommended!
Not been to this area for many years as was where my husband was manager of the satellite station at Madley. Was a wonderful sentimental journey. Not ignoring
the wonderful vintage tractor procession near Thruxton that we happened to meet by amazing chance.
Sarah the owner and her assistant Jedda were absolutely lovely. Great Sunday lunch and a beautiful village with a very fascinating church with a VC soldier, look him up, very Welsh of course
Jones, a hero in the graveyard as well as fascinating local surnames. Not to ignore the vegetable and plant place across the road in aid of Ukraine. Amazing. We will certainly be back. Thank you.
We had some exquisite dinner here today.
Beautiful food, lovingly prepared, local produce and flavours, the desserts were just awesome ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
A lovely birthday meal here! The restaurant was quite for a Saturday night but I think that was due to it being Bonfire Night as I've previously been unable to get a table.
The food and service were great and the chef is very flexible with options to swap sauces etc. Would recommend a visit.
Delicious food and fabulous, friendly service. Indulge in a full three courses, it's worth it! The mussels in a cider cream sauce and the fillet steak with Stilton and a port sauce were particular standouts of our visit.
This place is amazing. Family-run with a regularly changing menu serving superb local produce, excellent wine and sincere attention to what makes a great meal. The portions are healthy and overall excellent value for a 5-star meal.
My girlfriend and I are staying just round the corner at the Chocolate House and went to this wonderful place for dinner on our first night.
The food, staff and atmosphere were excellent and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
All three courses were delicious.
This unpretentious restaurant produced an evening of fine food, and the best sea-bass I have even eaten - which is saying something, as I eat a lot of fish and live in a country where fish os wide-spread and excellently cooked. Three of us ate from the limited menu, and drank satisfactorily, for an excellent evening, costing less than £90. Highly recommended.

A very friendly, attractive little restaurant. The food is wonderful without being pretentious and is reasonably priced. You are made to feel welcome as soon as you walk through the door.
We visited food for thought on Wednesday evening. The food was amazing and the staff couldn't have been anymore helpful and polite. Thank you very much ! If you're visiting Peterchurch or nearby this is definitely a place to go and eat. Great food great value for money.
