Me and my mum won a golden ticket yesterday and won a free meal and can of Budweiser. Very good service and tasty food, good options on the menu. Best chip shop in Hereford.

I organised a coach trip for 25 people to The Hay festival and selected Edwards Plaice from the internet as a convenient stop in Hereford on our return journey. I liaised with owners beforehand and they were professional, efficient and very helpful in sorting out our pre-order. When we arrived, the tables were laid out and the exceptionally calm and friendly staff checked our orders, sorted drinks, added extra orders, cooked and served the food fresh and hot with very little time between the first and last meals to be served. This was despite our arrival coinciding with their Saturday evening rush. All members of the party thoroughly enjoyed their variety of meals with good choice of fish/sausages/veggie burgers. Although the restaurant area was very "cosy" with 25 of us in it, this added to the fun and cameraderie! Staff coped exceptionally well. The bill was complicated because of the trip funding but it was sorted efficiently and in the best way to accommodate the funding procedure. Prices at around £6 -£9 per head for supper and drinks, including alcohol for some, was very reasonable. Many thanks to Edwards Plaice for a memorable and tasty supper and a very enjoyable time. I would thoroughly recommend this

Visited today as a family of five...what an amazing chip shop!! Staff were so lovely,lovely and welcoming to our children,nothing was to much trouble but most of all the food tasted like nothing I'd tasted before in a chip shop!!

Great little fish and chip shop. Came here with a couple of friends and a Guide Dog. They were brilliant and brought out some water for the dog too. Really nice chips and the fish was moist and lovely but I think the steak pie was the best :) Shame we don't live closer but great find on TripAdvisor!
I entered a competition and won haddock salad and chips! Couldn't believe how soft, flaky and fresh the fish was.. The batter was gorgeous! The chips were lovely too.. I'd never tried haddock before this as I always go for cod.. But I'd deffinately go for haddock again! If I didn't know it was haddock I would have thought it was cod! ( am I'm a VERY fussy eater) We also tried the curry sauce and a battered sausage which was delicious too. My husband loved the salad and said the dressing was lovely.. I Would definitely recommend! We will be back ☺️��
Hubby and i just had fish and chips and our boys sausage and chips it was lush,the fish was delicious and crispy batter no soggyness in sight and the chips were delicious to.
The fish just melts in your mouth scrummy.

That has to be the best fish and chips I have ever had and I can see why you were busy. Given the fact the was a queue the service was exeptional to say the least!!. If I had to describe teamwork in the workplace thats it, right there. Thankyou and you will see me regularly from now on.

This was always my Mums fave place, before she passed, and as it would have been her birthday, I always like to get these from the best Chippy in town, even if it is a cross the river from me.
Yes it’s a bit pricy, but the quality is leaps and bounds above the others. Chips are always fresh, and the batter always crispy with a flaky moist cod inside.

Excellent food, mostly freshly cooked to order. There is a good outdoor seating area where you can order food and pay by card using the machine, or you can order inside and pay with cash.
The menu is varied, so there is something to suit most people.
If you can't make it to the shop, there is always the option of ordering on line and having food delivered.
Amazing fish and chips! Nothing else to add, the fish is perfect and the portions are generous. I advise to go for the cod with regular chips with salt for the first timers.

Lovely fish and chips sensible portion and not at all greasy. Comes with slice of lemon and delicious curry sauce. Covered outside area for when you wait.
We visited for lunch on the road on a work day. Staff are friendly and fast service. Fresh cooked fish etc as a fast turnover with locals by the look. It's a small chippy with big flavours. My new favourite 😁 prices are good quality is excellent

Wow, after a long journey to Hereford intending to eat at the Grandstand, the kitchens were closed, was pointed in the direction of Edwards. Well what great fortune as we enjoyed the best fish and chips in many years, mums a retired chef and believe me for her to give a compliment it must be good 😆
Used for the first time 2 days ago, had cod and chips for two. Both my wife and I really enjoyed them, excellent!
Only dropped a star as it's cash only.

Update Feb 23. Edwards plaice has had a refit recently. It's cash at the counter and card payment via the machine out front.
Friendly staff and great chips. A winning combination.
