Lovely property with a beautiful, very well kept beer garden. The service is good, all the staff are attentive and very helpful. Food unfortunately wasn't anything to write home about so not the place if you're looking for a gourmet meal but fine just for a casual, no fuss meal out.

Lovely pub. We went for a wedding there and I was very happy to be a guest in a place like that. The garden was decorated very nicely, plenty of seats outside, lovely food and puddings, very clean toilets and a good selection of beers in the bar. I would go there again for lunch and drink when I visit the area. Staff were very friendly and up for a chat, which was nice.

This pub is absolutely gorgeous. We went to a lovely wedding, the pub, garden and food were fab. Extremely good buffet, the food was lovely. The staff were really sweet and really attentive too. Would definitely recommend it but especially for relaxed weddings it seems.

We just been there and had the best Sunday roost. Kate and John are such nice people, all the staff is really friendly, happy and welcoming. When you go there, and I highly recommend you do, order the brownie for dessert, it’s so delicious. Service is too and quick. Book a table in advance though as they do get busy on weekends. I’m definitely going there again. Very happy customer.

Unbeatable food, we went this evening for the "Build your own burger Tuesday" and it was out if this world. I'm personally a massive burger critic and can honestly say its the best I've ever had! Would highly recommend. Service is second to none. Thank you Kate, John and the Team

I was taken for a lunch here recently, and had the 10z steak, medium to well done, chunky chips, peppercorn sauce and salad. I would rate at 4.7/5 but have given five stars. Price wise it’s the upper end of what I’d want to pay for pub grub - £27 for the steak, £3.50 for the peppercorn sauce, and about £4 for the mushrooms - so almost £70 for two steak meals without drinks. But, the food was some of the best pub food I’ve had in the area. It was well presented, piping hot, the steak was melt in the mouth delicious and perfectly cooked. In addition, they have a lovely open fire which I sat by, and the chap who served us was really friendly, welcoming and cheerful. The 4.7/5 instead of 5, is because I think £3.50 for a small sauce and £4 for a few mushrooms is a bit too much up-selling. The Guinness could have also been a tad colder. But that’s a minor detail and I’d go back in a heartbeat. One of the best pubs around. Big sun-trap of a garden too and nearby walks for the dogs on tap. Keen to try a Sunday roast!

Gorgeous place to eat. Food was delicious and high quality. Generous portions and excellent money for value. The staff was nice and the place looks super cozy. The beer garden is also gorgeous, away from traffic, it really is a place where you can enjoy your food and drinks and relax

Friendly staff, great beer and atmosphere. I was greeted warmly after a long walk with the dog, who also received a treat and clean bowl of water. I was happy to find a pub open. Unfortunately, I didn't stay to eat but will definitely return. They are doing well to keep folks protected from Covid19.

What a simply fabulous find, nestled away amongst trees and quaint houses.🌳🌳 The staff were very welcoming, the manager went out of her way to make us fresh lime and sodas even though they were busy💞 We had Sunday lunches which were superb: fresh colourful veg, perfectly cooked lamb, amazing roast potatoes and extra gravy😋 🐾 Dog friendly, nice outside area.

A good stop for lunch, triple cooked chips an especial delight, normal chips nearly as good. The burger is filling and well presented, fish and chips a delight, with fine batter, not in the slightest bit greasy. Also check out the specials menu to find a new slant on traditional dishes.

I have been here twice recently and will definitely go again when I am next in the area. Great friendly atmosphere, the staff are attentive to specific dietary needs and kind. This time I had the minute steak which was really tasty and my mum had the mini fish pie accompanied by vegetables cooked "just right" (a really good idea to have reduced portions for those who can't manage a big meal). A hidden gem definitely worth a visit.

Had a lovely post Xmas family meal for nine people. Food was very tasty and fresh, with plenty of choice for all. Table service throughout with very attentive staff. Dog friendly too. Only minor niggle in that the pub felt cold when we arrived (heating not on but fire lit). Understandable given the energy crisis and we soon warmed up. Also coffee was only luke warm on arrival but given we had such a lovely time it didn't really matter. Would recommend and will likely visit again if in the area.

A lovely out-of-the-way Chiltern pub. Just the right place to sit outside on a sunny day and drink beer and eat pub food. (I ate sausages and stilton mash and drank Brakspear's beer, followed by fruit crumble. As already mentioned, not cheap, but such a pleasant experience, served by friendly people.
