Friendly pub with a café for walkers and cyclists doing the Downslink. Reasonable prices and nice food. I was cycling so just had a bacon roll & coffee in the garden - very welcome and tasty.
It's a rather nice old pub on the old train line that is now the south downs link. Good for a place to stop when out walking or cycling the bridle way.
They serve a variety of different drinks at not to bad a price and also serve food.
We had the pleasure of ordering some lunch when we went the ot
Really friendly pub with nice staff and nice customers.
Highly recommended
Only went to the cafe , but great staff and good food and service, there was an organised event 😀
Staying at The split for a night and took a short walk to The Old Railway, nice very clean country pub with really welcoming and lovely owners and highly attentive worth a visit
It's a best pub ever.
I do like the atmosphere there.... lot's of friendly people, lovely decorted pub and clean.
We visited the pub today after a long distance walk from Guildford over 50 km :)
The beer 🍺 was nice , and the staff was friendly.
Zoli & Laci
Stopped for a beer whilst riding on the downslink.
Beer was really good and the staff friendly, will be back.
Stopped for an early morning breakfast bap whilst on a ride. Really nice, absolutely huge and worth every penny. Coffee is pretty good as well. Will definitely stop again.
Smashing little pub with a coffee shop on the side, didn't have food as it was a small beer Friday afternoon time.
A local pub to me, good sized garden with play area. Reasonable selection of drinks but they only serve food from their outside venue, The Sidings. Unfortunately this was shut when we got there so didn't get to sample anything. It was late afternoon so I'm guessing the walkers/cyclists from the Sout
Bacon bap in Covid safe outdoor, undercover seating area before a lovely walk.
Breakfast on a nice sunny morning. Only a choice of baps so no plates and cutlery. The full breakfast bap was excellent and cooked properly (no snotty eggs!). Very popular with cyclists probably because of the numerous bike racks and right on the old railway line. Loads of well distanced outdoor sea
A pub on the edge of town that has done a lot to enable outside drinking, a lot of it sheltered. We visited as a family on a sunny day after a long walk. It was clear that there were a lot of locals who knew each other well, which is always a good sign. A very good selection of local beers and c
I frequent this route often on my bicycle and do part of the Downs Link Path. This time I had my daughter and grandson with me in the pushchair. The surface is smooth enough for the buggy. The great thing about walking this route that you are surrounded by nature. Trees and bushes of all kinds and a
Only a brief visit yesterday to pick up son in law after his last day at work, but clearly a popular local and serves real ale.
Will be making a return visit as it's on the old Downs link railway so good starting/ending point for walks.
Called into this nice little pub by chance and discovered that it was just (about 2 weeks) under new ownership. Friendly welcome and very good quality of 2 ales bodes well for the future as they put their own stamp on what looks like a good local.
Really nice staff, very apologetic about only having kiosk food, but we loved our bacon butty and latte!
Such a lovely pub with friendly staff and a brilliant garden. The kids thoroughly enjoyed playing on the climbing frame and in the treehouses.
