Absolutely blinding food, the curry made here is so authentic you can really taste the depth of flavour in each dish. The lamb I had was so tender melted In your mouth Room was comfortable and clean would definitely stay again, As new owners they really have pulled off a british pub feel, with a s
We visited The George this evening and our group were all extremely impressed! The hotel is in a beautiful historic building in the middle of the High Street. Such a cosy, inviting and relaxing setting. The wine by the glass was gorgeous and so to were the selections of beers. We ate in the bar ar
I’m just reviewing the Indian restaurant rather than the hotel. The food is a cut above the average Indian restaurant and is well priced compared to others. The room that it sits in is in the medieval part of the building and is very historic. The rest of the ground floor is somewhat wasted and does
Delicious Indian meal, absolutely delicious. Staff are extremely courteous, polite and friendly.
Just had dinner at Elaichi at The George for the first time. Lovely food, great service. An excellent addition to our High Street.
Went in for a few drinks after the remembrance march. Lovely pub and very friendly staff. Were given new menu tasters to try which were amazing. Pork belly and wings. Mentioned that we had a couple of vegetarians and were then given amazing halloumi, mushrooms and moving mountain. The food is amazin
I stayed one night in the single room (Room#1) and thought it was clean, comfortable and perfect for what I needed (2 days cycling around South Downs). The staff warned me when I booked that the room was small but it was absolutely fine. Unfortunately no chef at the pub, so had to get brekkie from a
Fabulous Indian food !! Been twice now awesome x
Great Indian food in a standard high street pub.
This hotel is exceptional! Initially greeted by a very warm welcome from Leisha which set the tone for an extremely pleasant stay. Easy check in process and the room was lovely, warm and comfortable. Ate here for dinner and the service from Chris and the other waitstaff was second to none! Always sm
Nice bar with a lot of old features and more importantly decent beer. Staff were excellent. Room large, bed very comfortable and bathroom had everything we needed. Chosen because it was dog friendly in the first place, I would stay again with or without a dog! Did I say Breakfast was terrific? I
I stayed for a night. The room was comfortable however a pillow case was badly stained, thankfully I had 3 others to use. A large cobweb over the bed suggested the room didn't see a lot of use. A kettle and tea/coffee were provided. No shower gel but I had my own. My room was right over the fro
Room was very cheap and more than adequate. Single room
This place is amazing. Clean, fresh, excellent service, fabulous food, good value, well managed, clean toilets... just excellent. Cannot fault a thing. Member of staff Kate was totally attentive, professional and friendly... and from Kate and her colleague (didn't get a name), nothing seemed too muc
Beautiful food. New menu is very good. Staff are really friendly and efficient. Setting is cosy, warm and welcoming. Highly recommend going for a fancy meal out in the restaurant or even the bar menu with some good beer is not a disappointment. Thank you for another lovely evening.
Very old pub with great character and open fires in the winter. Good food, generally. Sunday roasts are especially good; its worth a trip here for those alone! Atmosphere is slightly lacking, it's often quiet and service can be slow. That said, you'll not regret a visit for food or a couple of drink
