The Wheatsheaf is a tucked away gem. I went for a birthday lunch with my daughters and small grandchildren, and cannot recommend it enough, especially from a family perspective. They are genuinely welcoming to children, speaking to and interacting with the little ones in a way that tells you they actually like them rather than tolerate them! The staff took the children's orders while the adults were still deciding, so that the children weren't sitting getting bored for ages. How often does that happen! They also understand that small children do not sit quietly at the table for any length of time, and at no point did we feel uncomfortable about the children being children. Something else that is often not the case when eating out.
The menu was varied and diverse, the prices reasonable, and the food was excellent. Jugs of water appeared when needed. I also love the ethos behind the food - of growing as much as possible in their own garden, sourcing locally and organically.
The Wheatsheaf is a delightful pub & restaurant and I recommend it 100%
Thank you 😊
Went out for lunch and glad we found this lovely little pub in Henfield, the service was great and the food was amazing! We can't say enough good things about it! The Staff and owners we very hospitable!
A great place to come if you have small children as they have a Pirate ship with slides and seperate swings in the garden for the kids to play on while you enjoy the country air, plenty of outside area to enjoy when the weather is nice and plenty of seats indoors when it isn't!
Definitely worth a visit!
Came across this place accidentally, stopped off for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the menu and the food we ordered. So we booked in for the Sunday for a beef roast and will deffo be going back again. Homemade chocolate and strawberry tiramisu is amazing. I can say that the owner definitely puts his heart and soul into the food.
Lovely place - full of charm. Excellent food with refreshing menu - thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
Superb food, drink and entertainment. Food portions are generous and the quality is exceptional.
Live music nights are great, and well varied.
Staff are attentive and friendly. I would recommend to everyone.
Brilliant food , very child friendly, we popped in Friday for food was so lovely that we decided to book again for Sunday , fast service even with 13 of us the staff can’t do enough to help you will definitely be back if we are camping nearby again
Best fish and chips I’ve had for ages. Great staff, lovely welcome. Would highly recommend this pub.
This pub is fantastic and I never had to chase staff for anything. I had a lovely roast beef dinner and the roast potatoes were very, very crispy. I see good chefs in the kitchen cooking fantastic food. Staff were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The pub was busy but neither service or food suffered because of this. Well done to all the team and I will be back. Highly recommended.
Must come here and try not just the great menu, but the the great hospitality too.
Just a lovely little pub with very good service
Not eaten here yet but will definitely be doing so before long!!!
Popped in yesterday evening for dinner. Food was lush and the staff super friendly. Spent a lovely time rekindling old memories. Suggest a visit to find out for yourselves - you will not be disappointed.
Great food! Lovely staff and great garden for both adults and children

A great atmosphere and the food is always fab... We go as often as we can.
Great staff and delicious food . Definitely will be back
I had the pleasure of visiting The Wheatsheaf Pub, and I couldn't wait to share my experience with you. From the moment we stepped inside, I was captivated by its charming and inviting atmosphere. The tasteful decor, adorned with rustic wooden accents and warm earth tones, creates an ambiance that is both cozy and elegant.
During our visit for lunch, I was delighted by the diverse menu options available. The impeccable execution of flavors left me craving for more. The attention to detail truly shined through each dish they presented.
What impressed me even more was the attentive service we received, even during the bustling lunch hours. The staff at The Wheatsheaf went above and beyond to ensure that we felt welcomed and well taken care of.
I am already eagerly planning my next visit to The Wheatsheaf for dinner, as I can only imagine the culinary wonders that await me during this time.
What a lovely place. Went with a wedding party the day before the wedding itself. Child friendly, and a pirate themed playground that even as a 46 year old man, I felt like going to.
Large amount of wines and beers to choose from, and the food really surprised me. When somewhere says "home made" this venue means it. I just had a burger, and it was clearly exactly as described. Delicious, and the staff couldn't do enough for us.
Well worth a visit.
We visited at lunchtime, and there were four of us. The landlord was very friendly and attentive.
The food was very generally very good. The menu has a Brazilian twist, and I had the fish stew, very tasty. I would have given 5 stars but one of our group had the veggie burger which was, for her tastes, too spicy. I did try it, although I normally avoid veggie anything like the plague. It was very spicy, but, to me, the flavour and texture were awful. We had three courses, and that was the only issue, so overall, the food was great. Would definitely visit again.
Came here for a family meal on Friday evening whilst staying in the area for a wedding. Decided on this fantastic place due to its excellent reviews and it did not disappoint! The food, drinks, service and atmosphere were all exceptional and we had a wonderful time here. I would 100% recommend this place - I had the best chicken Caesar salad I’ve EVER had and the rest of my family loved their starters and mains too. Friendly staff, wonderful food and great drinks. Service and atmosphere were great too. Thank you for your hospitality. We will definitely visit again if we’re ever in the area!
Great pub, great food. A little hidden gem.
We visited here yesterday and enjoyed a fantastic Sunday roast. 1 lamb Wellington & 1 pork belly. Meat was fantastic and the roast potatoes where the best iv ever had. 10 out of 10 for for od quality. I would recommend eating here.
Very welcoming staff. Causer salad simple, with nicely seasoned freshly cooked chicken chunks but basic toasted white bread croutons. Let down by the loos...in greatneed of redecoration / deep clean.
Really good Brazilian fish stew. Good service and didn't mind our kid wandering around stealing cushions. The climbing frame is a real plus for families. And it was very accessible for the disabled. Shame they only have changing facilities in the ladies but this still seems pretty common in pubs.
Had a family meal hear and the food and service was excellent!!
The vegi burger was amazing and the batter on the fish was so light and tasted amazing. The gardens quite plesent but the playground could do with some work.
Staff were very friendly and even had a chat and treated us like people and not just a number.
The only draw back is the lack of parking, which is a shame.
Great pub and really tasty food! We were made to feel really welcome and will definitely go back :)
