Came across this place by chance. The place was empty but was expected on a weekday and for dinner. However there was a constant stream of takeaway orders. The place has been around for about 7l on the and is very well kept. The menu has the usual Japanese items but there were a few authentic Japanese items which I have not seen before in the UK. The hot food was well made and quantity was fairly good. The sushi were tasty but the rice wrapping did not appear fresh. The service was very hospitable particularly Barsha our waitress. Overall it was a good experience with some really tasty food

A nice little place in town, the food here is really nice, with a good selection of Japanese foods to choose from. We all went with Takoyaki, with we all agreed was great. To each of our individual meals, we all enjoyed them thoroughly. It's a little quiet at times, but it's great if you want a bit of peace when eating. It had no issues serving a large group of us (9)

Food was delicious, we had selection of starters and mix sashimi... Definitely recommend with salmon and tuna Hamachi, it's melting in mouth 😋 The prices are good, not overpriced comparing to the other places we have been. No complaints! Service also great, very welcoming and all of the staff we've seen they had smile on their face which makes you smile as well. Will definitely be back to try other dishes on the menu!

This restaurant is probably one of the best ones in town. I went to eat in for the first time, the staff was polite, the food was absolutely delicious, the ambience is calm, family friendly and comfortable. Also the space is clean and is hygienic. If you like Japanese food I recommend this place with my whole heart.

One of the most elegant Japanese restaurants in hemel with organic food. lovely vegan food . Definitely will head back here again am thankful for the veggie options aswell as the supportive wonderful waitresses whom are super friendly warming 😊. Well worthy for money too you get large quaintys of food with kastu curry with tofu with goes well too .One of the best east asian restaurants I've ever been to in hemel whilst the restaurant provides lovely herbal tea with cute antiques proper japanese kettle too . Another sweet thing staff do is they always check your dietary requirements before serving food which is amazing 👏🏼.

Wakusei in Hemel Hempstead is an absolute culinary gem that never fails to amaze with its exquisite Japanese cuisine. From the moment you step inside, the warm and inviting ambiance sets the stage for a remarkable dining experience. The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the Takoyaki Octopus balls - 5pcs. These delectable little treats are an explosion of flavor in every bite. The crispy exterior gives way to a heavenly burst of savory goodness that dances on your taste buds. It's an absolute must-try for anyone visiting Wakusei. The sushi at Wakusei is a work of art, prepared with precision and showcasing the freshest ingredients. Each piece is beautifully presented, and the flavors are perfectly balanced, leaving us longing for more. Whether you're a sushi connoisseur or new to the world of Japanese cuisine, Wakusei's sushi is sure to impress. The Udun noodles were another highlight of our meal. The rich, comforting broth and tender noodles made for a satisfying and soul-warming dish. It's the perfect choice for those seeking a heartier option that still delivers on flavor and authenticity. The staff at Wakusei are attentive and friendly, ensuring that every aspect of the dining experience is top-notch. Their knowledge of the menu and willingness to offer recommendations adds a personal touch that enhances the overall enjoyment of the meal. The attention to detail and dedication to quality are evident in every dish served at Wakusei. From the appetizers to the main courses, each plate is a masterpiece of flavors and textures that showcase the best of Japanese cuisine. Overall, Wakusei in Hemel Hempstead is a true gem for food enthusiasts seeking an unforgettable Japanese dining experience. The Takoyaki Octopus balls alone are worth the visit, but the entire menu will leave you in awe of the culinary wonders that this restaurant offers. I highly recommend Wakusei to anyone in search of an amazing dining experience filled with explosive flavors and delightful surprises. It's a place I'll surely return to whenever I crave the best of Japanese cuisine.

We have just got back from lunch and it was so delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly and the food was amazing! We had the sashimi set, the Tokyo bento and the Katsu bento; all of which tasted really authentic. Best of all the sashimi was so fresh and the tempura lovely and light. So happy we finally came to try Wakusei and we’re just sad we didn’t sooner! Highly recommended 😊 Thanks for a lovely meal.

Found this place by chance in the high street, it's been open since last October! Although quiet at lunchtime, service was quick, staff very friendly and helpful and food delicious. Would recommend, treat with granddaughter before she went off to Uni. She has food sensitivities had the Japanese vegan curry - very tasty

Was like a mini trip to Japan. Food was beautiful and the service staff great. The set menu we ordered came with miso soup and lady who served us was happy to explain how to have the soup without a spoon and just chopsticks when we asked her. Definitely worth a try. Reasonable price too.

The food here is absolutely excellent: every dish was cooked and presented excellently. Stand-outs for me were the takoyaki and the salmon nigiri. I've had excellent sushi in many different places and this was as good as anything I've had. The service was also a real highlight - our waitress in particular was so kind and touchingly genuine. All the other staff were very pleasant too. Really a lovely experience in every respect. Looking forward to coming back - there's a lot we didn't try, need to make up for that.

My fiancé and I visited this restaurant on her birthday, they prepared the BEST table for us and gifted her FLOWERS alongside with a chocolate fudge CAKE in the end of our meals without any special requests on our part, they did it on their own for her honour, we were extremely surprised and happy! and were amazed at not only the quality of food, but also the service! We highly recommend this place if you’re looking for the best Japanese food and experience! This is easily one of, if not the best meals we’ve ever eaten. I cannot recommend this place enough! Such a warm and welcoming environment! Thank you WAKUSEI Restaurant for EVERYTHING!!!

Perfect from start to finish. The staff were happy to answer questions about the menu, including suggesting wine pairing with your mains. You can really see the care and attention with everything that is done in this restaurant. We had a Chicken Katsu Bento box and a Chicken Teriyaki Bento box. The miso soup was out of this world and the California rolls were just a work of art. I cannot wait till we go back again to try something new on the menu again!

Very nice restaurant! Some teething issues being a new restaurant but overall a good experience! My friend and I both had the sushi set menu and it was amazing value for money, nice tempura and the sushi was great and fresh! I didn't like it all but that was more preference but you could tell it was all freshly prepared! Few service issues, drinks took a while, lack of a dessert menu, playing the same 5 songs over and over and please put on your menu which set menus are available on which days. Also may I add please put descriptions on your menu as we had no idea what half of it was. Also not the most child freindly location due to the style of food unless you have a little one open to trying wildly new things. However, for a new restaurant I feel it has a lot of potential and is an amazing choice for a calm meal, lovely ambiance and manager was so helpful! If you plan on visiting enter with an open mind a lot of new foods and a new restaurant so like I said some teething issues.
