We rented a property across the road from this lovely old Inn. Great hosts, super food, especially my spinach and ricotta cannelloni and gorgeous merlot! Well worth a visit!
Andrew and Antony’s pub is such a welcoming place. One of my favourite pubs in the locality. Warm, hospitable and great company.
Absolutely fabulous we would highly recommend this place for good quality food, excellent customer service and a fun friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
We reserved a table for 6 and we were not disappointed our Sunday roast was cooked to perfection and the presentation was incredible.
The beef was so tender and the vegetables were cooked just how we liked them. Crispy roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and we added cauliflower cheese too. This was a real feast and we still managed to find room for desert. The chocolate brownies were a taste sensation and definitely a real winner for the family.
We have already booked a return visit later in the week.

A hidden gem... the atmosphere was wonderful, the food was wonderful, however the service was unbeatable. Whilst on holiday in Cornwall, we passed this place and so glad we booked a meal. We attended as a family of 6 (with a child and a toddler) and we all throughly enjoyed the meal. My daughter even said it deserves 5 stars! The staff all make you feel welcome, they are funny, attentive and friendly. Extremely welcoming and kind towards families (pleasing a 1 year old isn't always easy). We have all said we will visit again!
We had a wonderful time at the Star inn. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and Anthony was the perfect host. He went the extra mile even recommending a great place to take our dog a walk. The food and wine was delicious (Thank you Andrew!). Would highly recommend

We decided to try and book in here very last minute and Andrew was very good to find us a table close to the time we asked for. Front of house, Anthony and the young barman were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home immediately offering a really personal service.
Between us we ordered a mixture of meals and everything arrived together, piping hot and really well presented. I opted for the seafood platter and it didn't disappoint, the side of skin on chips were a fantastic accompaniment.
The atmosphere in the pub was very relaxed yet had the feel of a quality establishment. You clearly manage the amount of guests you have in at once in order to maintain a brilliant quality of service and standard of food. We weren't surprised to hear other guests booking for multiple future visits.
Our only disappointment is we didn't discover you sooner in our holiday so we could come again!! So we will definitely be back again on our next visit.

Outstanding!! As visitors to the area we were made to feel very welcome and the food was so good. We ate there every night of our 3 night stay and Antony was a tremendous host.
We visited tonight for the first time and we had a really lovely time. Food was delicious, quick service, really friendly owners. The pub is decorated well and cleanliness is to a high standard. Looking forward to visiting again very soon and seeing the dogs 😍

Lovely pub in the middle of nowhere. Generous portions of petty standard Sunday lunch fare. But there was no one in the pub at 2pm on a Sunday. We were the only people there the whole time.
