Nipped in today for a spontaneous lunch after an arduous morning. Well what can I say the staff were very helpful and friendly easily accommodating a fussy eater. The food was delicious I can’t recommend this pub highly enough.

Found the black swan on the way back from a day out, totally amazed by it, first impression was the lovely atmosphere in the place, and just how friendly and pleasant the staff were. The food was something to behold, it surpassed all expectations and then some, we were both impressed with just how good the food was. Small details, the waitress was polite, well presented, but warm and friendly, nothing was too much bother, she used a tea towel for the plates and carried them correctly (I hate seeing people's fingers in my food ). The price was more than reasonable for what was delivered, a big thank you to all at the black swan, we shall be returning again.

Nice atmosphere, friendly people and one of the best roasts I’ve ever had in a pub. If we lived closer, we’d definitely be regulars!

Lovely pub in Gweek. Went for Sunday lunch with friends. Service was good with a very good menu. We all chose a roast dinner. The meat was disappointing. Not much of it and a little undercooked. The roast potatoes were undercooked too. Shame as the pub itself was lovely.

Lovely little pub! Had an unexpected visit due to getting lost with 4 hungry children. Everyone was very welcoming and the food was really good. Even my fussy eaters loved it. Thank you for a lovely visit!

Visited with a friend. Staff were friendly and helpful. Decided to have some food I had a steak and ale pie and chips, with veg. It was tasty but did feel like the lid was a cooked and placed on top not sure if the meat was cooked separately and added or not. Very selection was nice and cooked just right. Friend had the curry they had 2 to choose from and seemed good. There is outdoor seating by the road in front and also another beer garden at the back There is a decent size car park by the rear upper beer garden

Wonderful place to say. More of a Guest House than a B&B. Spacious room and excellent bathroom facilities. Very well run by Michael and his team.

We chances upon this absolute gem after leaving the seal sanctuary and how glad we are. Parking is slightly hidden past the pub to the right just off a residential street so don’t assume there isn’t any. We arrived and were greeted by perhaps the friendliest staff I’ve encountered in a pub and some very friendly locals too. Plenty of beer choice, naturally lots of Cornish options and a great menu. Atmosphere was fantastic with a mix of locals and visitors and it never felt as though we were unwelcome. Dogs are welcomed in the pub which just added to the atmosphere and made it feel very homely. The food was excellent, the cod batter and chips barely left any oil on the plate and tasted amazing. The crab salad was enormous and tasty! We can’t recommend the Black Swan enough and wish it was our local!

So mixed reviews for the Black Swan. As a business customer it was frustrating with no phone signal or Wifi. After arriving on Tuesday afternoon I discovered they dont serve food on a Tuesday and with no internet struggled to find options. Luckily, I’m a regular visitor so made my way to Helston and the awesome BooKoos. If you’re looking for a break from the rat race and want to experience Cornish hospitality then The Black Swan is amazing. Friendly locals, amazing farm shop opposite with pastries to die for and a proper Cornish village feel. The room was basic but clean. The breakfast was excellent but can’t comment on the evening menu although it looked great. BooKoos is a must though if in the area.

My wife and I had one of the best Sunday roasts ever on 1st May. The yorkshire and veg we're superb as was the meat. Also had a side order of garlic bread which again was fantastic thanks. Steve & Linda.

Friendly local, good selection of Cornish ales, other beverages are available! Easy to miss on the road in from Falmouth as it sits on a bend, with a junction of 3 roads meeting. This can be a busy area at peak times. Beware, buses and tractors are a common feature, so be prepared to give yourself time to get to Gweek. This village has so much to offer to those looking for a resting, meeting and contemplative space. A local village green with fish and chips served by Sid, every Wednesday eve from 5pm, bring your own bottle, available from the pub or the local store, which supplies fresh glass bottle milk and other fantastic produce. Situated on the stunning head of the River Helford, surrounded by ancient woodland, Gweek itself has a working boatyard, with a super friendly, contemporary cafe with all round good, local and plastic-free produce offered. The Seal Sanctuary which is a popular attraction, Holifields Farm special needs community facilty that has hosted the Holifest for over a decade and some really wonderful walks in all directions, at all times of year, through all types of terrain. Of course many come here on a boat as the river is a wonder of our world, with numerous beauty spots, wildlife and oustanding area status, there are some creeks to explore, leading to other wonderful pubs and secret beaches, with abundant inspiration and anchorages that will set your heart in a spin! The Black Swan is the hub of this special place, the bar staff are often inundated, and patient, serving good pub grub with some specials offered. The locals are a laugh, and can be found perched on stools at the bar. There is a TV for sports and the all important weather update, with WIFI and outdoor areas by the road. They also offer a B&B and have a seated restaurant area. Toilets are basic but clean and functional. Dogs are welcomed with biscuits from the barmaid! But they must be well behaved and sit first! As must the kids! Kids are well thought of with a box of toys and books, some looking a bit care worn, so if you have surplus spare toys, games etc please donate, they need a nudge there. Apart from that one quibble this is a great family place, pool table, darts and live music is often on offer. Would recommend a visit if passing through Gweek. And a stop off and walk around this well maintained 'proper Cornish' village.

The rooms are nicely appointed and very comfortable. Can’t say enough about how accommodating the owner and staff were..and the food was amazing. Though the rooms have been updated, the restaurant and bar area are still quintessential British pub. If you are headed that way, I highly recommend a stay, and dinner. You won’t be disappointed.

Very clean, new rooms. Really helpful staff who were really thoughtful when we let them know we were having to leave before breakfast. They provided us with something to eat and to take with us. Was lovely too
