Thyme And Plaice - Helmsdale - Photo album

I am so pleased to have across this cute cafe while I was travelling in Scotland for the first one. Their scones were fresh out of the over and the coffee is to die for. Also sausage rolls was delicious too. And everything came for a reasonable price. This cafe is a gem!
Finally, I got to try Thyme & Plaice & wasn't the slightest bit disappointed. Had lunch. Very friendly chef/staff & the food was amazing. Staff were very attentive. Dad & I had lobster & prawn salad, which was very filling. John had a full butchers breakfast. We all had something for pudding. None
We stopped in this village on the way up to John o Groats and on the way down. We thought we would try a different cafe to the first visit and we were delighted. To call the staff here friendly would be an understatement, they were fab giving out local knowledge and places to stop on our long journ
A great place to have a nice leisurely lunch. Wonderful, friendly host and terrific freshly prepared food. A real treat.
I can see why this restaurant has 5 star reviews. Delicious food and fantastic service by Robert. We are vegetarian and we were given various options of food including vegan options too. Best toastie I've had in a long time and the lemon cake we had was mouth-watering. Glad we stopped here on the wa
We found this place through a book called "Wild Guide Scotland" and we weren't disappointed. The food was very good and the staff friendly and attentive. There were a few locals there, which is always a good hint :)
Lovely food, great service and good value for money, a great stop off if your driving thru!
Really lovely service from friendly, helpful staff. Varied menu, from just a tea or a coffee, soup, sandwiches, cakes and puddings, to home made pizzas, starters /light bites to full meals. Everything homemade and cooked to order. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. It's Cyclist and dog
We came here for dinner by chance and very pleasantly surprised. We had the shepards pie and pudding for dessert. This was our first stop on our Scottish holiday and set the bar very high. We loved the use of local produce and would highly recommend.
Great plaice (see what I did there? 😜 ) for a stop for lunch. Excellent friendly service and good food. We had the battered haddock, tuna sandwich, chili chicken sandwich and they were all great.
