My 40th birthday meal. We were on holiday and took and chance on the feathers and were not disappointed. Food was lovely, very interesting menu. Staff made such an effort for a big party with 4 small children. We were made to feel very welcome with nothing too much trouble. Children well catered for food and with box of toys. They were able to play on floor while we finished dinner and drinks and then played outside. We all agreed it was very special
Meal as we were very relaxed- not always the case with small children- and great meal.
Last night was our first visit to the feathers, we went to celebrate my wife's new job, we couldn't fault the place, the service, food and surroundings were simply fantastic, can't recommend it highly enough.
I have eaten at some of the finest dinning restaurants in the UK and spent a lot of money for some very mediocre food! My experience today at the Feathers Inn has exceeded all my expectations, not just because the food was exceptional but because the service was faultless. From start to finish this was by far the best dinning experience I have ever had! I can't wait for our return visit in a few weeks time!
Never fails to please. Interesting, well cooked food. Excellent portion sizes(sometimes too much). I love the use of locally sourced ingredients. The ambience and service always give you a warm welcome. Worth the journey every time.
Amazing place, lovely little country pub, staff are brilliant & couldn't be more helpful. Absolutely love this place, foods out of this world and the beers not bad too!!
Amazing food and good wine list. Great choice of Sunday lunches, perfectly cooked - never thought I could say too much crackling with the pork!! Friendly, swift and outstanding service. Best Sunday lunch I can recall!
Visited a couple of weeks ago with my husband & teenage daughters. Great food. Reasonably priced. Fantastic service. Definatly recommend. We will be returning.

In the heart of Northumberland, over looking the rolling hills and vales, lies The Feather Inn. you will be met with the warmest of welcomes by any one of the friendly staff or family. The Feathers Inn is informal and snug and offers the most delicious food and drink. Rhian and Helen (and family) are passionate about what they do and it shows. Rhian and the team in the kitchen pay really attention to cooking local produce to perfection. They have been awarded The Good Pub Guide as County Dining Pub of the Year 2017. The Feathers has won this award an astonishing nine times! The Michelin Guide Eating Out in Pubs Inspectors favourite eight times 2007 – 2015. The list of awards go on and on. So, if you feel like something special and often different (Bali BBQ in May, Wagyu beef in August), visit the Feathers inn and enjoy every minute of your stay.
Informal dining in a beautiful little village..great customer service from staff..beef was delayed but compensated by a free round of drinks some extra beef and yorkshires..although all these things were great the food stood out..and its brilliant that its nearly all of it isfrom within 60 miles..definitely be back..well done the Feathers
If you want the best Sunday lunch then visit the feathers - more expensive than most places but you will appreciate why when you dine here - a visit is a must
Birthday meal for youngest son was another opportunity for the Feathers to shine both in the quality of food served and the excellent service. Fabulous North Sea plaice and fish and chips. The staff rustled up some candles on my sons chocolate pudding. Fab!
Absolutely outstanding! The food was absolutely amazing and the service was warm and friendly. We will definitely be back
Always have a lovely time at Feathers gorgeous food and very friendly staff ......
Class food and great beer. Friendly and welcoming pub/ restaurant
I would love to give this 5 stars all round but despite being one of the best Sunday lunches taste and quality wise, it was let down by being on the cool side. The food arrived being held with cloths suggesting piping hot plates, they were just warm and the meat and veg were the same. The quality and flavour was however most excellent and the staff were super friendly and helpful.
Had Sunday lunch, which was great. Starter of pork loin cut very thin, served cold with accompaniments.
The roast beef melted in your mouth.
Had profiteroles to finish, lovely filling of blueberry cream but choux pastry was very hard which was disappointing after such a great meal.
Outstanding Sunday lunch! What a lovely little pub. Very welcoming, friendly & attentive staff. Great portion sizes and top quality food. Could not find a fault. 100% recommend, we will definitely return!
Sunday roast with trimmings = delicious 😋
Fish and chips = whale size, also delicious 😋
Apple crumble, bread and butter pudding and custard 😋
Cheese board had plenty of crackers and 🧀 also delicious 😋
A great meal. Something special and a bit different. The wines are very good and the non/low alcohol drinks.
We had charcuterie selection and pickles, bean and tomato soup. Mains: woodcock with offal on toast etc., wild duck with roasties, sprouts and chestnut etc. Desserts were pear and almond tart and sticky toffee pudding.
Luscious food enjoyed in great company. Attentive, knowledgeable staff.... A real treat 😍😘😁
Lovely quaint old building in a small village. Cosy inside with lots of outdoor seating. Traditional menu, and everything was really nice. Could do with more couple more veggy options, but the ones we got were pretty good.
This is an attractive pub in a great location. The food is very good and that is reflected in the high prices. There is a large beer garden too with views. On the main course menu there was only one choice for veggies so I had 2 starters. Meat eaters were extremely well catered for. I think as so many people realise that red meat is unhealthy and bad for our planet, pubs need to catch up and offer at least several main options for veggies/ vegans not ONE main course. Will return when there is more choice as so attractive and well located. Puds especially good!
Recent visit 5 star✨️ top quality as usual..bit pricy but cost o living these days so as expected.
Small menu ( 5 mains available but changed frequently ) plus starters and desserts. We had the shoulder of lamb with roast potatoes and veg. Very tasty but one portion had a lot of fat. Nice for a change but won't be a regular haunt.
Wonderful restaurant, they do a great outdoor pizza in the summer and their food inside is great too. All locally sourced which means the menu is a little small at times but great options.

This used to be a favourite pub of mine many years ago and it was lovely to return for a meal with family members. It was the nicest Sunday lunch I can remember having (main and dessert) . We all loved it and I will be back soon for an evening meal. Thanks
I had visited this pub about 12 years ago , the memory of the heritage potatoes had stuck in my mind , probably the best I’d ever eaten ! Due to relocation I hadn’t returned until now
All I can say is wow !
You have to visit here if you like food that is locally sourced and you know is prepared by Someone that has a passion for food , we had the sharing charcuterie board and roast pork, I’m not usually a pork fat eater but OMG this crackling was best ever , , sadly no room for dessert , which all looked amazing too , will we return now back in Northumberland most definitely , what ever your doing guys keep doing it …

Amazing food. Wonderful pub. Great staff. My Mrs and I loved the food in this place. We can't say enough good things about The Feathers. Others seem to think its pricey, but it's very reasonable if you are coming from London/southeast, and is as good if not better that a lot of places in London.
Best meal I've had in ages, very seasonal and delicious.
We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch seafood stew & beef. . Meal suited us. So appreciate more unusual options in this area.
Would love to return
The Feathers has long been an old favourite, though due to circumstance we hadn't managed a visit since pre-Covid. The culinary quiz night seemed the perfect excuse to put that right but boy, did it remind me what I'd been missing! The food was every bit as good as it ever was, and the rabbit pie main course, served 'family style' for the table, was exceptional. An evening to remember for sure. And I promise we won't leave it so long till our next visit!
