A lovely historic coaching Inn, beautiful and remote location with a mixture of walkers, cyclists, locals and our party including two French ladies who wanted a good home cooked Sunday lunch in an authentic English pub. It really delivers, proper home cooked chips, very important to French people. E
The Pub is located in lovely scenic moorland. Seemed reasonably busy with a mix of hikers, cyclists and those just out for a run in the car like ourselves. A lovely roaring fire and pleasant welcome. Ordered the steak pie which was super! My partner had the liver, which was succulent and tasty. Acco
Hadn’t been for years. A very cozy, welcoming pub with a decent selection of beers & cider. I didn’t eat, but a few in my party did and reported that the food was excellent. Good place to return to with its roaring fires after a walk over the moors, but also a nice place to call into when out for a
A friendly welcome here this Sunday lunchtime at this dog friendly Inn, its been four years since our last visit. Good to see that it hasn't changed. Good pint of Nettle thrasher. Leek and potato soup was excellent and substantial, the garlic mushrooms were tasty. Both the Sunday roast beef and ham
Idyllic pub packed with history. Haven’t tried the food yet but only ever heard good things. A must if you’re in the area after a ramble in the Dales 👌👌Dogs VERY welcome !
Lovely hearty Yorkshire food. The staff are kind and attentive and very dog friendly. The views around the pub are fantastic and it's definitely a gem.
What a great pub, lovely atmosphere. And the food is delicious and a decent portion and not expensive. You won't be disappointed if you visit.
Warm welcome, great pub for a meal after a walk or ride through the stunning area that surrounds it. Sunday lunch is a must 😋
Pub on top of misty mountains. It was wonderful. Found this while on the way to Widdop on my bike. Life saver. We were almost on our last breath when we saw this, it motivated us to complete the trip. Good beer on tap, had white rat and black sheep.
Really warm welcome, good food and drink at this remote but scenic location. As much a delight for today's travellers as it must have been in the days of the old drovers.
