We arrived by narrow boat so the Stubbing Wharf was an ideal place to stop for dinner and a few drinks. It's right on the canal which is handy for walkers and boats. The staff were super friendly and curtious. We had the set meal of starter and a main. The food was piping hot and delicious and a bargain at £12 per person. There was plenty of food so desserts were not an option for us. Great place, great staff, great food and even better, a great price.

fantatstic food , great atmospher and a lovley location... our fave pub and grub place. we drive over from leeds just for it. nothing frozen everything fresh and big platefulls of cracking food. love the hot roast beef sandwiches with chunky chips and a side of the big onion rings, having the belly pork next time though. that looked brilliant.

We have been to Hebdon Bridge a lot of times but stumbled across this pub as we walked along the canal. We normally just go into the town but as it was such a nice day decided to go along the canal for a change. Very impressed with the pub staff very friendly and food really good. Hoping to return with friends in the next few months.

We have always loved It here, the food was always lovely and it still is - there is a very pleasant ambience, very calm and relaxed and best of all they still do black pudding and goats cheese stack with the most delicious chutney, which is our all time favourite starter so please DO NOT retire it! Waiting staff are also attentive without being in your face. It's a thoroughly enjoyable experience and we highly recommend Stubbing Wharf.

We popped to the Stubbing have just arrived in Hebden Bridge and needing a good quality pub lunch that was pretty relaxed! Booking a table for 6pm they were very accommodating of our 2 year daughter and my dads dog (happy to sit under the table) - our table really was a fully random bunch but worked for us :-) First off it's right on the canal which is great to sit out and there's room to sit out front and back for at least 50 people. Inside there's a large bar and a dining room for around another 50 I reckon. The drinks selection was ok and fairly standard but there were some great local beers on - my dad and myself especially enjoyed the 'Maid Marian' hoppy beer! The food on offer was typically pub (basically crossing every type of food across the world and back again...) but the fish and chips were great, salmon looked tasty and my dads linguine hit the spot. Most mains were under a tenner. Overall a great place to visit and I'd happily go back again tomorrow!

Very convivial pub. Excellent beer choices although sadly no IPA. I was looking forward to some fish and chips - the fish was very good but the chips were a little soggy. They kindly let me have real peas rather than the mushy ones on the menu.

This was a recommendation from a colleague who lives nearby for good real ale and quality food that's not too expensive. Also recommended for its relaxing atmosphere. My initial impression wasn't great: a couple of cigarette scuttled picnic tables slouched either side of the main entrance, suggesting a downbeat watering hole in a somewhat idyllic location. But after hanging around waiting for my dining companions to arrive, I noticed that the stream of clientele heading inside was pleasingly eclectic in terms of age, gender and cultural persuasion - a good sign. Inside was pleasantly reassuring, if not surprising. The interior is poised somewhere between traditional, rustic and Irish. If nudged in the wrong direction it could be re-touched as an Irish theme bar, but those kinds of places usually lack the soul that abounds in Stubbing Wharf. We sat down to clean tables in a semi-partitioned dining area with windows to the back and front and a fire-place set into one wall. The bar was but a short walk away and frequently crowded by affable punters generous with their manners. Just as importantly, it was stocked with some fine ales on hand pump. Black Sheep Bitter and Timothy Taylor's Landlord being the stalwarts of an impressive campaign, the interloping legions of which included representatives from the fantastic Phoenix Brewery and Copper Dragon. Hic! It was good to see that the warm atmosphere and friendly attitude of the staff extended to visitors of the canine variety, providing such four-legged patrons are retained on a lead throughout their stay. The menu was impressive with the accent on game. Unlikely stars of the culinary cabaret included breast of pigeon and the more obscure gamecock. Black Pudding made two cameos as starters which appeared to be distinguished by such subtlety as not to merit two separate inclusions on the specials board, but when sampled proved to be extraordinarily different dishes. We ordered a different one each and so sampled both. Starters were around the £4 mark with mains ranging from £7 to about £10. There were plenty of people drifting upwards towards the open mic night, but we didn't hear much in the way of music. But what more can you want of a pub? The Wharf has real ale in abundance, good food, friendly staff and clientele, it's in a good spot on the side of the canal, it has regular open mic nights, quiz nights, a highly informative website with video of the interior and a football team that claims to be the best pub football team in the world! I, for one, would like to join.

I love this pub after a long walk with my dog we can both go in for a drink (yes the dog too) Friendly staff and good food. The canal is right behind so after your stop of at The Stubbing Wharf you can carry on with your walk. Perfect

Friendly pub with a fair menu. The ales are good although more expensive than the competition down the road but that's down to personal choice. On a frosty bitter January it was a welcome refuge for a couple of well kept ales, worth a visit. Dog and children friendly too.

We've been here before and it's a really nice, friendly atmosphere. Staff are always great, polite and accommodating. The pub is situated on the canal with nice views, a good seated outdoor area and it is dog friendly so you always see a lot of cute dogs which is a bonus ! The food is so good here, each time i try to get something different - myself and my partner got the smothered chicken burger with an extra chicken burger on each and they were huge ! The chips that come with it were lovely and we got beer battered onion rings which were extremely reasonably priced at 1.99 and delicious ! My father in law got the mixed grill which he said was amazing, it was a massive plate of food and he added peppercorn sauce which he said was the best he had had. For dessert we chose the brownie duo which comes with ice cream - the brownie is huge and i must admit i was never keen on brownies - before i tried this one ! My father in law chose the crumble of the day which was apple and cleared the bowl. Fantastic service and great location for a pretty canal walk to walk off the fantastic food!

Myself and my partner came here today. It's in a great location along the canal with lovely scenery along the way. The staff were all very friendly and attentive and the food was excellent and portion sizes are really filling. The menu has set deals which are cheaply priced and everything else was also equally reasonable. The starter, main and dessert were brought out with impeccable timing. Lovely decor with a comfy, cozy vibe and the music was relaxed. One of the staff members saw that we were watching f1 on one of our phones and put it on the tv for us. Thank you, we will definetly be back next time we come to Hebden Bridge.

Great pub campervan stopover. However, it isn't really suited for large motorhomes. This is another pub that does great food and with or without our camper, we'd visit this place again! 😀 Thanks for letting us stay! Claire & Nigel

When you want a great pint, a friendly atmosphere, superb service and absolutely fantastic home cooked food there’s only a handful of places you can go and Stubbing Wharf is one of them. You can take the dog, turn up in your walking clobber, enjoy great chat. It’s welcoming warm and friendly and I bloody love it here. I visited on Sunday just gone and eat the most amazing steak and ale pie with a pint and caramel apple tart to finish. Absolutely outstanding.

Lovely staff, nice food, reasonable prices, beautiful scenic views. Highly recommend. My only issue and the reason for four stars i stead of five was that the potatoes were a little old and the egg a little overcooked. Having said this we've paid a lot more for meals in Yorkshire that were not half as nice as the food here.

Great Sunday lunch! Really nice inside, good atmosphere and easy to get to from town. The roast dinner was one of the best we have had, tasted like a home cooked meal. Only downside was the Yorkshire was slightly burnt and they need bigger gravy boats! For the price excellent quality, great that you can have unlimited roast potatoes etc. Good selection of beer too, and really friendly service.

We went to Stubbing Wharf last weekend and ordered bottled ciders and a vegan nachos sharer for two. They have a selection of Old Mout and Rekorderling ciders in bottles which I love. The vegan nachos was great! We both loved the taste. The only criticism I would have is a constructive one where I would recommend that the vegan chilli poured over the nachos could be a bit more as it was quite tasty and we both would have loved more of it. People working at the bar were very polite and friendly. I would definitely recommend this pub on a rainy day for a cosy time inside or on a sunny day for drinks and food with the view of the canal.

Awesome pub on the edge of the town. Good good, choice of beers but best of all was the Old Rosie on draught. We were in a camper and they let you stay overnight in the car park if you eat there. We had the wings and nachos which were mint. It's located right on the canal and a short walk to town. Will go again.
