Excellent in every way and a fantastic destination for amazing cheese, meats and other goodies. Awesome wine selection, great owners and a real hub of activity for Heathfield. Weekly Pizza nights is not to be missed and the regular cookery classes, wine tasting and other events top it all off. They make a *really* good espresso too!
We love the Friday pizza evenings. It is a great way to end the week and enjoy a glass of one if the many delicious wines on offer. Their cheeses and charcuterie are superb. A great local deli and meeting place. Oh and their wine tastings are really good.

Fantastic place, amazing quality food and wonderful owners - the wine selection is truly excellent, choose anyone of their wines and know you are getting something exceptional thanks to the expert knowledge they have. They are also extremely fair on price and the coffee too is the best in the area.
Fab little cheese deli and bistro in Heathfield High St. Great range of cheeses and other delicacies plus I hear they often have a unique uke band of an evening!!

Not sure what I'd do without this wonderful shop in Heathfield. Great food, cheeses, wines lovingly sold with expert knowledge. Have lunch over a glass of wine. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.

A lovely cup of tea. They sell good wines, selection of cheeses and charcuterie.
I visited for the pizza van which was parked outside. Fabulous freshly made pizza a zillion times better than Domino's (which is on the other side of the High Street) and supports a local business.
As for the Cuculo Deli, I have had a freshly made sandwich and a coffee there in the past which was most excellent
I ordered 12 bottles of wine and the service was fantastic. The owners were very pleasant to deal with and the wine was sent quickly and was extremely well packaged. Highly recommended!
Stumbled off the Cuckoo trail (the restored section of the Cuckoo Line from Polegate, which has been turned into a walking track) to discover this incredible wine bar/deli in Heathfield! Specialises in Italian wine, and there is even Italian radio on in the background which was a lovely touch. Very impressed with the quality and selection of wines, and the knowledge of the owner. I asked for an ‘oaky white’, which can be quite hard to find outside of the traditional Chardonnay…but he gave me three excellent suggestions to try. Food and cheese also looks very good. Several people, clearly regulars, came in to pick up orders of crates whilst I was there, which did not surprise at all me given the quality of the wine. What an amazing find in Heathfield!

So this was my first visit.
The food was unbelievable, I enjoyed every mouthful.
I had a beef plate of some description and my wife had one of the vegan plates.
The wine they recommend was not brilliant, but it went well with the food.
The cakes all looked great and I hope to try one next time I visit.

An excellent deli providing a wonderful choice of cheeses, both local and continental, wines and many other delicious things to temp you. James and Cinzia will give you a warm welcome. Coffee is great too! The shop is a real plus for Heathfield High Street.
Amazing Deli in the heart of Heathfield, East Sussex! I can’t help to go there everyday, even just for an Americano coffee with a nice almond croissant, and a panino for my lunch! The selection of fine wines is superb and the owner James is helping me to know them! His wife makes the most amazing Brie with truffle and I can’t stop eating it. You will not find such an amazing customer service and attention to details in this place. You will get the right touch of Italia all over there. The selection of hams and cheeses is vast! The choices are incredible and I can go in and on!! Highly recommend this place as I take my best clients there!! Have to try it!
Lovely shop. Great food, cheese etc, plus fine wines and a lovely coffee. Served by charming gentleman.
You need to visit on a Friday night for amazing Italian boards, fantastically priced wines and beer with attentive and lovely hosts and if none of that takes your fancy then you can buy stonebaked pizza from the van outside (incidentally the most amazing pizza this side of Italy!) and have a glass of wine whilst you wait for it to be cooked or eat it in when it's ready. Love this concept and feel lucky to have this deli on my doorstep.
Had a lovely cappuccino, best in town. Go sometimes on a Thursday Friday evening foe pizza and a glass of wine. Highly recommended
Love Cuculo! Friday nights are a great time to visit as you can also get the pizza from the Community Oven pizza van. Or some of us choose a cheese and meat platter with a glass of something recommended by James. Cinzia is a fabulous cook and host-definitely recommend this deli!
I'm no wine expert but I don't need to be as the proprietor is, and has some of the best italian wines family and friends have had. They also have loads of home made goodies and a lovely range of christmas treats.
Large variety of cheese and really helpful, once in tempted by coffee and sausage roll. Really well stocked with a large range of specialist pastas, sauces, chocolate, biscuits, cured meats, cheese, wines. Worth a visit.
