What an unexpected little gem! Very cute, simple but quite stylish interior. Lots of sweet little features. The staff were lovely and very helpful. I was just having a nosey but ended up taking a seat and having a very tastey emmental and salami crepe and a latte with salted caramel syrup. My only (tiny ) issue would be that the salad that came with the crepe was only a garnish. I feel it would have benefited to have more leaves and a couple of cherry toms on there as well. I then decided the blow the diet and get a piece of homemade carrot cake to take home and it may have been the best I have ever eaten! I implore people to give this new little treat a go.

Partner and I agree that the croque monsieur is better than any we have ever eaten in France! They are our favourite Sunday brunch treat. We just wish we didn't have to go to work so we could attend the french lessons. Have also sampled the macarons and wine on an evening - c'était délicieux. Merci beaucoup et à bientôt!

Waiters chefs food drinks and music were authentic French items and beings! Croque monsieur and cafe noisette were delish: I will come back soon to get reminded of home... Don't hesitate, go. Merci Monsieur Déjeuner pour une ambiance très sympa et très française : )

Glorious little cafe/bistro. Every time I've visited I've enjoyed a delicious and freshly made sandwich on a crispy baguette and the coffee is very good indeed. The people who run it are friendly and welcoming. We love it on a leisurely Sunday!

Wonderful find, with a refreshing sense of real local, themed community engagement - film screenings, French lessons etc. The croque monsieurs are highly recommended, being excellent value and by far surpassing the expectations of a small cafe. The offering changes to reflect seasonal trends and ingredients, but it is always complimented by genuinely amiable staff and a charmingly rustic, provincial aesthetic

Put simply, this is my favourite café in Leeds. I'm so glad I stumbled across this charming place. Monsieur Déjeune is now firmly my go-to café on account of the authentic French atmosphere, high quality delicious food, friendly staff and friendly regular patrons. It's really like a little piece of Paris in Leeds! And for lovers of French culture they also do French movie nights (think wine and cheese), French language meetups and it's great for a quiet late night bottle of wine with friends. Can't recommend this place enough!

Man, I've lived in Kirkstall for 8 years, and whilst I've seen this venue change hands a few times over the years, I wish we'd visited this new incarnation sooner. We actually came for the pancakes but changed our mind when we saw the menu. Oh my They do THE BEST croque madame (a croque monsieur with an egg) outside France. Good coffee, good service, cosy little eatery which offers French movies on special nights or daytime group French lessons for a reasonable contribution (£2?) We'll be back, that's for sure.

We enjoyed baked camembert and Croque chèvre. It was a truly french experience, we were sat next to 2 french guys who clearly didn't like the smell of the cheese. The waiting staff didn't mind us asking for more bread to go with the camembert and didn't charge us either. love the french mags and books. looking forward to a very reasonably priced french lesson or cinema evening soon

Cute little cafe with a good selection of snacks. I had a sweet Crêpe which was amazing, but the croissants and Croque Monsieur also looked really good. Will be back.

Cute little place. Can be hard to spot if new as doesn't stand out but watched a French film for free, had a lovely evening and a fruit plate. Friendly atmosphere. French style.

Lovely food and friendly polite service. Not to pricey for the area. It looses a star for not looking very French. Also excellent decafe coffee!

This place is so French I found itself resisting the urge to slip into the lingo. However this place is not too parisienne; I was made to feel welcome. Good value, good food.
