Arrived around 4.30 pm. First time visiting. Had a nice welcome. The air con was pumping out to an empty restaurant and was quite cold. Ordered ribs and a steak with sides. Food came out quite quick, all good apart from partner lettuce side was wrong, and my fries were barely warm. Asked waiter to change them and they made a big thing about being straight from the fryer, well I think they should have been in the first place. Anyway ended up being an OK meal in a glorified harvester.

As an American tourist on my very first night in England, I was eager to experience a traditional British steakhouse. I had heard great things about Miller and Carter in Hayward's Heath, so I decided to give it a try. Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately struck by its cozy and old-style pub house ambiance. The warm and welcoming atmosphere set the stage for a memorable dining experience. The menu at Miller and Carter offered a variety of options, allowing you to customize your steak exactly the way you wanted. I opted for the ribeye steak, and I must say, it was truly outstanding. The meat was cooked to perfection, tender, and packed with flavor, meeting my American expectations for a top-notch steak. The "pick your side, pick your sauce, and pick your cut of meat" concept was a delightful surprise. I paired my ribeye with a delicious picture-perfect salad and a mouthwatering sauce that complemented the steak perfectly. This level of personalization made the meal feel tailor-made to my preferences. While the prices might be on the higher side, I found that the quality of the meal justified the cost. The attention to detail in the preparation and presentation of the food was commendable. What stood out even more was the warm reception I received as an American visitor. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made me feel right at home in this English steakhouse. It was a memorable introduction to English cuisine, and I left Miller and Carter in Hayward's Heath with a newfound appreciation for British steakhouses.

Lovely atmosphere and even a roaring fire! Angie was a lovely server, friendly and knowledgeable when we asked for recommendations of how to have our steak cooked. Calamari for starter was so crispy and decent sized portion. Then steak sandwich for mains which was delicious, and again decent portion of fries. Would definitely visit again, and we aren't local!

Had a fabulous meal today for my 50th Birthday. The food was just amazing, best steak I’ve ever had. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff went above and beyond. Thank you Yasmin and everyone.

The staff were very friendly and patient. Patient, because some members of our group took their time to decide what they wanted to eat and drink, as well as complicate their orders. Unbeknownst to me, there was a birthday surprise arranged for me and the two other members that were celebrating birthdays. Our waitress carried this out beautifully and she and the manager were offered homemade cupcakes on top of their tip (we had cupcakes instead of one big cake).

I came for lunch with my friend who is a full time wheelchair user. Your staff were extremely polite and very helpful. Being quite a short person and sitting on a chair which had obviously been well used, I found the table to be a little bit high for me. I asked a member of staff if I might borrow a cushion to sit on, but instead, she and another lady exchanged my chair for a more suitable one. It was no trouble for them to do it and they were smiling and very pleasant.

We thought the service was great as we were just about the only customers in the restaurant. Also our steaks were good although I asked for mine to be medium it was well done at one end and rare at the other. We also thought that both of our onion loafs were very dry. So dry that when we tried to cut them they shattered. I also thought my glass of house Red was far to expensive at £9.35

We went yesterday lunch time for my husbands birthday and because of the heat wave we were the only people eating, all very romantic. The waitress was absolutely delightful and very helpful, we have been before but quite a while ago. We both ordered Fillet steak which was absolutely delicious, cooked exactly to our specifications. Everywhere looked spotless, including the toilets, which had a problem last time we visited. I had informed them it was my husbands birthday and he always has a dessert, yesterday he refused! Typical man! The chef did him a platter with happy birthday written in chocolate and a little cluster of fruits. I was deeply touched by this gesture. This is what makes you want to return. We had a wonderful afternoon, thank you. We will definitely be returning and would definitely recommend.
