Amazing atmosphere, with incredibly attentive staff. From the moment you walk through the door you feel like a welcomed guest. They have a vast array of beers and spirits and have a fabulous indoor and outdoor space with an outdoor area for children to play.
There is ample parking and the pub easily accommodates small or large parties.
Charlie was our server and I can’t give her enough praise. She made the whole family feel incredibly welcomed and even though the pub was incredibly busy, she saw that we all were served quickly.
Will we go back again? Absolutely….would we recommend you go? Without a doubt!

We were recommended to visit here by the lady at Spring Farm where we had been Alpaca walking. I'm so glad we were. We received the warmest welcome by lovely staff. I had the best beer battered fish and chips I have ever tasted! The chunky chips were extra chunky, crisp on the outside and perfectly cooked. The cod was fresh and coated in the most crisp and delicious beer batter. My friend really enjoyed her meal too, ham, egg and chunky chips. This pub is superb, dog and people friendly 😊. If you drive past, youve missed a treat! 😂
I was part of a party of 11. We had pre-ordered all our meals. Staff were very friendly. But we had a bit of a wait for our food which I must say was excellent. I think they were a bit short-staffed. Lovely pub though. Would recommend especially for the food and friendliness.
Good pub, with pleasant staff. Dogs are welcomed and a good selection of food/beer. Good opening hours compared to other pubs in the area (particularly on a Sunday - kitchen closes at 8pm - pub at 10pm). Some accessible tables indoors, accessible parking on site and accessible toilet as well.
We loved the chicken burger a lot! Big fan of the cheese they used with it too 🧀😙👌🏽 and speaking of cheese, we ordered more of that good stuff with a fried brie and cranberry jam side. 🤤🤤🤤 So damn good.
Came here for lunch after a walk through the beautiful Ashdown Forest. A proper pub with friendly and courteous staff and a delicious sandwich, chips and a pint of the excellent local ale.
Thank you Eloise for a great serving experience. 👍 Food was tasty and arrived nice and promptly. Some options were a little pricey, and could use maybe 1-2 more Vegetarian options, but other than that, super stuff.

The pub is next to Munich Legends, so whilst on a visit to them I visited the Red Lion for lunch.
They have a good selection on the menu and nice range of ales and modern brews available on tap.
I choose the soup of the day and fish and chips, and sat outside amongst lots of cute dogs that owners had brought. The food came quickly and was hot, the soup was lovely and bread good. The fish and chips a tad oily but very nice portion.
Overall really lovely and would definitely come again.
Service at Red Lion was great and the halloumi stack was incredible! Really hit the spot and enjoyed our time here. Everything we ordered was delicious and served up quickly. They are also dog friendly. Thanks for a great dinner!
