Reviews Bucket Of Blood Pub

Have been going to the Toms Holidays site for numerous years and always pass the pub but never got round to going in. Managed to find the time last April to visit and have a pint of whichever St.Austell beer was on tap. Having been back at the site again this October my family and I decided to try the pub grub having seen others reviews. Booking in advance is highly recommended as it's a busy pub only serving food between 6-9pm. On arriving we we given menus and pointed in the direction of the "specials" board. We ordered our food and drink at the bar and then waited for no more than 15 mins for our food to be bought to our table. Be under no illusion, these are not small, measly sized portions. These will cater for the largest of appetites quite sufficiently. At the end of our meal, we settled our tab, which for a party of three including drinks came to below £50 including starters, a very reasonable price. We are back home now but already looking forward to going back again in April.

Best pub food I've tasted. Good home cooked food and massive portions . Tried to sample the desserts on two occasions but just too full from main course to do them justice. Will certainly come here again and recommend it to friends.

Lovely staff made you feel very welcome. We had two small children with us and they were well looked after. The food is very good but portions are on the generous side. There was quite a lot of waste which I thought was a shame. Would recommend a visit. But book ahead. Xxxxx

Great place, beautiful views, and a lovely atmosphere. Really lovely lady behind the bar, reasonable prices, and big portions . Just a shame about the scallops. Seared on one side, arrived with tails, and quite tasteless. You could tell they were cooked okay, but if not the lemon and salt on the table, I don't think I would eat them. My husband had the mac n' cheese, and he was a big big fan of that. Otherwise, a very good experience, would definitely come back again.

Best pub we visited. The food was gorgeous , the atmosphere was great and the service at the bar and table was also great. Bobby, the barmaid, had a cracking sense of humour and brightened up our evening. Table needs to be booked in advance as the pub is very popular. They also have live music on certain nights.

Fantastic food well worth visiting. I would definitely recommend the homemade onion rings best I've had. Booking in advance is recommended as it gets busy. They have a good choice of drinks. Friendly and helpful staff as well...

Absolutely great meal and evening yesterday. Could have easily turned it into a big session... :D Massive portion of super fresh scallops and multiple beers on tap. We've been coming in periodically for years when visiting the mother in law, but service, food and atmosphere yesterday has definitely catapulted this place into the top spot for food and pints locally. We'll be choosing here over other slightly closer pubs in future :) ps love the fairy lights on the beams, and thanks for fitting us in short notice (Richards family)

Dropped in here for a brief refreshment midweek whilst on holiday. The landlady and other staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Beers were fresh and lines are clean. We loved the low ceilings and authenticity of the place. Plenty of free parking and a lovely outside space for warmer weather.

Absolutely incredible visit to the Bucket of Blood! My first visit and the next time we come to Hayle I will definitely make a return wherever possible. Cost £110 for 5 people for a very nicely portioned, delicious meal as well as 2 drinks each! The pub was clean and tidy. They do struggle a bit for space but once your used to the level off the roof your fine! Outside eating areas also available during the none rainy periods! Would recommend to anyone staying at Rivera Sands, Haven. Due to the horrific options they have on site.

Didn't eat here but the food we saw going out looked amazing. The lady serving us was very friendly and made lots of fuss of the dog, including a bit of beef. Beautiful little pub. Wish it could be my local

Definitely one for you to visit if you a visiting the area and They are fair priced with there menu too.

Loved this pub! Beautiful building with low beams, all lit with fairy lights gave a warm cosy atmosphere. The staff were so friendly and very funny. Food was great. Felt very homely. Would definitely recommend BUT you must book! It’s a popular place for a reason.

Heard loads of good reviews about this place over the years but today was the first day we have visited. We arrived at 4pm not realising they didn't serve food all day (our own fault foe not checking). We ordered drinks and managed to book a table for 5pm. All of the tables were reserved so I would definitely recommend contacting them in advance if you want to sit inside for food. There were tables outside free and a separate outdoor menu. The menu had plenty of choice and the food was reasonably priced. We ordered and the homemade food was delivered quickly and was beautifully presented. We all really enjoyed our meals and found all the staff to be super friendly. The pudding menu looked amazing but we were all so full from the mains that we couldn't sample them on this occasion. Thank you. We will be back soon (and will ensure we phone in advance next time 😁)

Lovely pub. Beer and atmoshere was really nice. Wasn't hungry so didn't have food so not rated that. Played table football with my 8yo son while Storm Betty raged outside. Staff and locals made us feel welcome. I will return! I hope they haven't tired of relating the story of how the pub got it's name, as I will no doubt be asking. Thank you for a very pleasant pub experience!

A really lovely quirky little old pub with a good selection of drinks. The current owners have only been in situ a short while and they are currently upgrading the kitchen so food wasn't available but it will be very soon. They will also be having live music nights so I can imagine it being a lovely place to go and I wish them every success. We will definitely visit again when we next come to Cornwall.
