Blue Boar Pub - Hay-on-Wye - Photo album

Such a lovely pub! Staff were so friendly, food was delicious and the atmosphere was really welcoming. Our first time in Hay-on-wye and was looking for a bite to eat. Glad we came here. Also their burger is quite possibly the most delicious burger I have had.
Breakfast at The Blue Boar is a very pleasant way to start the day. Cooked breakfast was excellent as were the pancakes with bacon and maple syrup. Very good service, recommended.
Had the best pie in my life here! We came here for 2 meals in a row and wish we knew how good the pub is earlier. Everything we ordered were so good!! Love it!
Enjoyed a quiet pint at the blue boar. I sit outside in the lovely beer garden. I went on a Friday and it wasn’t too busy. Nice place I would go back.
Fantastic food and good atmosphere. Didn't have to reserve but there were a few people in there (a Tuesday). Food felt freshly prepared. Bar tender was very polite. The pub is card payment only.
We came here for dinner, and received a warm greeting - order at the bar, so no table service. Not much of a selection of wines, but I was very happy with my Kiwi Sauvignon and husband very happy with a good beer selection. I did need a stiff drink, having seen the prices on the menu - £19 for a bur
Great pub, relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Superb lunch of faultless pigeon breast salad, black pudding, roasted tomatoes, baby potatoes, fried bread and balsamic dressing. Perhaps the tastiest salad I've had in years. My partner relished his fish and chips. The generous piece of hake wrapped in a
We were a party of six...I believe 5/6 had the Fish (Hake) and Chips and was really good. Probably the best fish and chips we've had on the British Isles. Service was great and had 3 or 4 different servers come over and ensure we had everything we needed. Our BnB had recommended a different location
Great food, fabulous atmosphere with friendly staff.
The Blue Boar is an adorable pub with incredible food. Not sure who the chef is, but they really know how to cook! I got the Soup of the Day (which was a winter soup made from parsnips, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and more) and it was creamy and very tasty. It came with a freshly baked baguette
Me and my wife went into the Blue Boar Inn for a drink on Sunday the 17th of September, it was about 4 pm, the two young gentlemen behind the bar were outstanding, polite, and excellent service. I hear a lot of criticism of the young people of today. They were a credit to the inn and their parents.
Amazing place. My husband and I popped in for lunch on our mini moon and had the most incredible food. The fire was lit and they played some lovely relaxing jazz music. We loved it so much we came back another day for a drink and a pudding. A lady named Scarlett working there was very welcoming both
Nice and friendly staff, Had the lamb and was cooked perfectly and tasted gorgeous would definitely recommend a visit
We just walk-in today. But the foods really impressed us. My family did enjoyed the food especially the Lamb Cawl and the crusty bread.
Called in 'on spec' with a party of 5 + dog for an evening meal. They were more than happy to accomodate us. Great food, great ambience, great service, and the staff were so helpful and pleasant. It was a pleasure to visit and somewhere I'll visit again if in the area.
