The Old Electric Shop - Hay-on-Wye - Photo album

Charming Aladdin's cave of treasures with a lovely little café and a gently hippyish vibe. Great coffee and cake too.
Great vibe to the place. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The flat white was the best I've had in a long time and my partner's hot chocolate was perfect. Had a big slice of cake between us that was all kinds of incredible. The shop is also well worth a wander!
Visited here last night on a whim. Live music was fabulous, atmosphere was lovely and laid back and food and drinks on offer were perfect. Staff super friendly and helpful, would highly recommend it here. We were also able to mooch about the shop at the back and came away with some antiques 😀
The nicest chai latte I've ever had, so smooth and creamy. Would recommend.
Delicious vegan options. Enjoyed the noodle salad bowl and harrisa flatbread. Cake also yummy!
What a Gem. We stopped in on a walk that took us through Hay and only needed a coffee and a bit to eat so we decided to share an avocado on toast. The coffees were top notch and the staff were lovely. The food arrived quickly and was so well presented. 2 slices of toast and a generous helping of av

Really nice cafe, and shop with nice odd bits. Food is fantastic, and vegetarian and vegan options. Dog friendly too!
Lovely shop, with a great selection of books. We had breakfast and the food was amazing. The vegan breakfast options and cake were really tasty. We enjoyed the sweetcorn fritters and vegan elderflower cake the most. The oat flat whites we tried the day before werent the best (perhaps the milk) but
Great flat whites! Fantastic atmosphere amongst the vintage furniture
The vegetarian food served here is extremely delicious, very reasonably priced, and the service is excellent. If you eat meat, don't give it a miss just because of that - you'll find something you love! I'm a big fan of the eclectic layout and seating, and you can always browse the wares around the
We had the most wonderful lunch here today. Lots to choose from on the vegetarian menu. Such a refreshing change for us veggies! I had the most fresh and delicious salad with noodles and my husband had mega cheese on toast with chilli. The staff were lovely and friendly, and there were such great qu
Stopped here for some food on a very hot afternoon and ordered the harissa flatbread and noodle salad. Both dishes were incredible. Such intense and well combined flavours - veggie food done properly which is a rarity! 100% recommend, and if we’re in the area again we will be stopping by without a d
