Discovered a little gem here. Lovely bakery and deli. Had coffee and cake in-house. Service friendly and very good. Left with an armful of goodies. Convenient wine shop a few doors down too.šŸ˜ƒ

We have been coming to Haxby Bakehouse for a few years. We first heard about Phil (owner) when we went to the Cake & Bake show a number of years ago and he was presenting a session on sourdough. The bread and cakes/pastries are always fresh and tasty. There is such a fab choice that itā€™s hard to choose each time we visit!! With the addition of Bakehouse Barn, itā€™s taken the bakery to another level! Itā€™s not often that we come as we live on the other side of York but when we do, itā€™s such a treat! We ordered this beautiful box of treats via the Bakehouse Barn to celebrate Motherā€™s Day! Canā€™t wait to try them!! Also stopped off for a quick brunch of Rhubarb & Custard danish (for me) and a pepperoni pizza toastie (for the hubby). All washed down with a lovely cup of coffee!!

Always make time for a stop over at Haxby Bakehouse. Their bread is amazing whether itā€™s pain de levian sourdough or focaccia, their sandwiches are to die for and their freshly baked pastries cannot be beaten. They also stock a large variety of independent and top quality pastas, oils, pantry staples and beautiful Spanish crockery. Plus, their cafe is dog friendly. Every woofer I have come across there is very well behaved, and so are their humans. All of their staff make everyone feel very welcome, humans and hounds in equal measure. Itā€™s great actually to see that many places now in Haxby are dog friendly; a stop over at Haxby Bakehouse for a coffee and pastry, bread for home plus a treat for the wooferā€¦weā€™ll be back.

Tried the bread before and today bought the seasonal Bakewell tart and oh my word, itā€™s to die for! The crust was crumbly and and buttery, the jam wasnā€™t overfilled, the almonds toasted evenly, the main tart part very moist and airy light kinda like a sponge!!! Even better that it wasnā€™t too sweet either - about the same sweetness as a Victoria sponge with crĆØme and jam that you get from fridge supermarket ones. Couldā€™ve had another slice but watching my calories. The best Bakewell tart Iā€™ve ever had! Will be back again to try the other items!! Staff very friendly and welcoming.

Just updating this review as HB has blown my mind this morning. Just had a chocolate and black cherry cruffin. Think of a muffin shaped croissant filled with chocolate and cherries. Gorgeous. The cheese and ham croissants and seeded sourdough bread are the usual awesome quality but I love trying their new creations! Keep on experimenting!

Had bread from here before, which always loved - but found shop by accident. Bought three gorgeous cheeses - really reasonable compared to other deliā€™s- could have easily got more! Incredibly friendly and helpful staff - wished there was more places like this!

Best bread in Yorkshire šŸ˜ Very tasty and always fresh šŸ‘ It reminds me of the flavors of my childhood when my dad had his bakery in Poland. Thank you šŸ˜Š

These guys are true bread warriors. They know good bread, appreciate good bread and dont compromise on how its made or the ingredients . They also do a fantastic morning bun and stock an excellent selection of artisan cheeses (they buy in). This place supplies 5 star restaurants with bread. You will not find better.

The sourdough bread is truly amazing and they sell a good range of deli typed products. Not quite as keen on some of the other baked goods, that said the morning buns are delicious.

An amazing place that I got to visit on Tuesday when walking the Ebor Way. Very friendly staff and a wide selection of temptations. Would highly recommend the sausage roll, the rhubarb and stem ginger bun, and the foccacia. A place to definitely seek out.
