This place was a seriously beautiful place as a wedding venue made very special by the stunning mature trees and marvellous castle.
The owner and his daughter are amazing example of quauility hospitality providers showing all the love and passion required to win in this field.
I can't volunteer information on the rooms but the customers seemed very happy and they also have accommodation not in the castle and a lovely orangery cafe.
Spa afternoon as a treat for my daughters 40th birthday. It’s hard to not get carried away about this fabulous place. We received a lovely warm welcome from Carol and the girls. We started with our treatments (full body massage, back, shoulders, and facial), then into the steam room and the hot tub. We then sat down to the best afternoon tea ever. I’ve been to many spa days but this beats the others hands down. I couldn’t fault a single thing and nothing was any trouble for Carol and the girls. I can’t recommend it highly enough.we will definitely go back
Very welcoming, friendly, helpful staff. Delicious afternoon tea, celebrating a friend's birthday. Plenty of everything, they even cater for gluten free. Will definately come back to try a lunch or another afternoon tea some time.
We attended a wedding and this place proved a grand setting for the event. Beautiful scenery, high quality finishing to the facilities, decor and landscape. Excellent.
Stunning holiday let in a beautiful location with friendly and accommodating hosts.
Highly recommend for a getaway or weddings option. Simply beautiful mix of Architecture and Scottish countryside.
We stayed here Aug 2022 for 2 nights for a family wedding at alternative place.
We stayed in Scott Suite as a family of 4 (2ad/2ch). The room was beautiful, clean and spacious. The bathroom had a decent sized walk-in shower. This overlooks The Orangery Cafe so you do need to put blinds down whilst in there.
There is a small area off through a door in the room which leads to a separate area with bunkbeds, wardrobe, seats and drawers. This was ideal for our children to have their own area and privacy.
All the hallway was a reading/tv room where due to our party we were served breakfast.
Breakfast was great, we chose our menu the night before alongside the time we'd like served.
The view from the room was beautiful and the grounds are lovely and maintained with lots of wildlife including birds and red squirrels.
There are a few steps to climb to get to the suites which although not an issue for our party may cause some problems for those with mobility issues.
Carol was a lovely host, she was warm, welcoming and friendly; nothing was a problem for her.
I'd highly recommend Branxholme Castle as a place to stay.
Only 5-10min drive into Hawick town centre.
Such a comfortable and relaxing place to stay. Carol and Brian, the proprietors were really friendly and welcoming and made the place feel like a home from home.
Our room was great - a very comfortable bed and excellent light blocking window coverings meant perfect sleep.
The complimentary port and whiskey in the lounge was a lovely touch and we made use of the extensive film library.
Breakfast was tasty and there was a wide range of options and was served up until 10am (great for us...). You do have to choose what you want the night before, though, which I find less than ideal as I often don't know what I'll want to eat the next day. The plus side of this is you can specify when you want breakfast and so don't have to wait for it. You can either eat in the lounge or in your room.
The castle and grounds really are excellent and make an impressive setting for a holiday. The decoration is done to a very high standard throughout the castle and the outside seating area (the soon-to-be-completed Orangery) was great for sitting out of an evening with a bottle of wine.
The only negative for us was that the WiFi didn't reach most of the castle (including our bedroom) and we had to hold our phones up to the window to get any reception. However, Carol said they are looking into this so hopefully this won't be a problem soon.
Overall, I'd highly recommend staying here - a lovely setting run brilliantly by lovely people.
One of the best value for money stays we’ve had. Carol is lovely and her attentiveness is second to none. Our room was immaculate, exceptionally clean with fresh towels and facilities. The scenery is nice and the castle is cave quiet. We will return and highly recommend a stay at this wonderful place.
We had wonderful weekend stay at Branxholme Castle when in Hawick for an Easter wedding. We stayed in the Buccleuch Suite, which was so elegant & beautiful with stunning countryside views. Breakfast was delicious, obviously we went for the full Scottish, we were not disappointed, fresh, quality ingredients, beautifully cooked. Carol made us feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended
Stayed here early June with my wife and baby. Made feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. The place is stunning and they are doing such a great job with the renovations of the castle and grounds. It really did feel like home from home, breakfast was lovely especially as they bring it to the room. High quality accommodation, fantastic hosts and we wish them well for the future. Will definitely come back soon.
Carol and Brian are the perfect hosts; nothing was ever too much trouble and they went above and beyond to make our stay and wedding day everything we wished for and more. Picturesque and peaceful setting with lots to explore for the little ones. Rooms are luxurious and every detail has been thought about. All our guests commented on the delicious food and breakfasts were a particular highlight. Can't wait to visit again this year!
Just like to say how amazing the castle is, we have just stayed for two nights after touring the lakes for our honeymoon what a perfect end to our holiday. Carol and Brian made us feel welcome and made us feel at home from the minute we arrived. Couldn't of chosen a
more beautiful place to stay. Also thanks to Sarah for everything. Good luck with the continued renovations.
We will definitely be back. Diane and Rob Hill
Had the most amazing time staying at Branxholme Castle this weekend.
Carol, Brian and Sarah were brilliant and made our stay so memorable, especially going the extra mile to make my birthday so special.
Would highly recommend staying here and will be booking again soon.
We wish you well with your new venture and plans to expand and hope it is as successful as everything else you have achieved.
Sarah, thank you so much for all the small touches that helped make my stay so special. your a gem of a lady and I hope Carol and Brian know how lucky they are to have you.
Delightful place to stay. The lap of luxury in a 16th Century castle. Hosts were great, very friendly and very down to earth, genuinely nice people. Beautifully appointed rooms with every amenity, Nespresso machine to roll top bath and a complimentary glass of port and/or whiskey to boot. And then there's the breakfast. Every possible combination, Continental, full Scottish and specials, gorgeous. Don't miss the Orangery either, barista coffee and home made cakes, and why not add a wee dram. We'll be coming back definitely.
Had just the best time ever at Branxholme B&B.
Warm, helpful and attentive hosting by Carol amply supported by Sarah, they both went the extra mile to make our stay enjoyable and very memorable.
The room and bathroom facilities were first class and the breakfast was of a very standard and well cooked.
Faultlessly clean and very tastful decor, our room was just perfect.
The complimentary malt whisky was a special touch, all in all Branxholme Castle will live long in the memory.
The castle/cottage is the perfect place, just what I was looking for for my Christmas getting away, something for everyone in our party, from 2 years old - 67 years old! The castle is very clean, lots of room, and carol has everything coved for you and will help you make your stay perfect! The castle has great ground, our boys loved the forest walks! Oh and the hot tub is great too, along with the games room! Thank you!
Beautiful grounds, exceptional service! When I checked in Carol offered me a beer and we sat in the sun chatting for a while. The room was exceptionally comfortable and the breakfast the next morning was more elaborate than I could eat in one sitting. Highly recommended!
Had a fantastic stay in the cottage at Branxholme Castle at the weekend! Such a lovely area, beautiful scenery and nearby town of Hawick (7/8 min drive). The cottage was immaculate and cosy, great kitchen/living room area with all necessities included. The rooms were big and beds were so comfy to sleep in. Cottage also includes a games room (pool table and darts) and a hot tub, which were great additions to our stay. Brian gave us a tour of the main castle/hotel on our last morning, which is decorated beautifully and has a lot of history to it to learn about! Thanks for a wonderful stay Carol and Brian
Stayed here for a wedding last year. Its a beautiful place, set in the most scenic setting. The accommodation is 5 star, amazing breaksfast. Carol & Brian the hosts are brilliant and made us all feel so welcome. Would highly recommend.
