Highly recommend this place it has a wonderful gluten and dairy free menu. Great customer service, portion sizes are excellent and the waiting time is acceptable. We did have a discrepancy with the meal but the customer service was fabulous. All in all we had a wonderful evening many thanks to the staff.
Amazing menu for gluten, dairy free & other food allergies. Nothing is too much trouble for the chef in preparing meals if you have special dietary requirements.

We visited Friday night and I was amazed at the quality of the vegan food they served. I had the mushroom stroganoff followed by the millionaire shortbread sundae. In the 2 years that I’ve been vegan it is 100% the best restaurant food I have eaten. 10/10 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Food amazing the menu extensive caters for gluten free and vegan which impressed my partner a great deal the Christmas pudding well I don't like puddings much but wow we where both amazed
Absolutely loved finding somewhere close by that provides a free-from menu. I'm severely lactose intolerant and usually have to stick to steak when I go out to eat, so was so happy to find such a varied choice and knowledgeable staff. Will definitely be going back and will make room for dairy free dessert this time! One suggestion, maybe start doing free-from afternoon tea. Nowhere does this �

Never had a bad meal from here, absolutely love the Sunday dinners ! Also my husband said it's the best place round here for gluten free food !
Only called for lunch when staying in the area .....Nice friendly staff...good food ... would recommend and looking forward to our next visit..
Nice cosy hotel on the edge of the lake district with good views out towards Morecambe bay.
Food in the restaurant both evening meal and breakfast were very good, not greasy and meat locally sourced rather than commercialy masses produced.
Little details like paint pealing in the bathroom was the only thing that stopped me giving a 5 for the rooms which had a very comfortable bed and plenty of room.
Definitely staying here again, just hope they touch the bathroom up before the next stay.
Very pleasant staff, the meal.was nice only complaint was my wife and my step son ordered Rhubard crumble and custard. It took ages to arrive the rest of us had nearly finished our sweet, when their sweet eventually turned up they said tasted burnt and nothing like a crumble at all. My wife is a chef so as soon as she tasted it she wasn't impressed at all. Apart from that everything else was fine.
The room was clean and a good size with a nice view. The meals were very good in the restaurant and the breakfast was an excellent choice the staff were so friendly, we would definitely recommend and return there again
This hotel punches well above it's weight. The staff are very efficient and polite. The food is really good and always served piping hot.

Just spent 2 nights at the Rusland. From when we arrived to when we left the staff were very friendly and attentive. We decided on dining there also after reading so many great reviews and we weren't disappointed. First night had the Sunday Roast. Excellent quality great portion sizes and reasonably priced. While there in our first night we saw other meals come out and equally impressed so it was decided we would dine there again for a second time. Again we were not disappointed food was exceptional. We will certainly recommend this hotel and restaurant and will certainly be returning again. Many thanks for a great stay. 👍
The Rusland chicken is to die for, so yummy and very filling. The butternut squash soup and eton mess pudding are also lovely and tasty.
Can't fault this hotel in any way. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the food was excellent and every single member of staff was friendly and helpful.
We stayed for 2 nights, and it was quite easy access to the lakes from here. We also went to the motor museum, just a short drive away.
Haven't tried the rooms but stopped off for Sunday lunch when passing by. Location excellent for those travelling the A590 to M6. Friendly staff provided good range of traditional roast dinners and food was great and service fast. Have passed this place many times first time I have stopped glad I did.

Went for a meal here after a trip with friends. We were greeted at the door by a very friendly lady who took us to a table, took our drinks order and left us a menu. The meals were fantastic! I can highly recommend the Hunters Chicken 😋😍. The staff were all very friendly and pleasant. The hotel itself is a traditional, 'old style' building with low ceilings and wood beams, set just off the main road but surrounded by trees and classic Lake District fields. All-in-all a great expérience if you need a beautiful meal at a good price!

Popped in on the way back from getting our Chinese from Ulverston there were all these vintage cars parked up when we arrived. Went in for a drink then went back where we were staying.
Stayed here over weekend really nice pub,restaurant and rooms! Bed was comfy and the breakfast was good with good variety. Free parking on site. Only lost a star as WiFi was terrible in the rooms and the TV didn't have bbc1 on it so missed match of the day Lol. Didn't try the food but like everywhere in the lakes drinks are expensive. Would definitely stay again tho and recommend.
After being let down by our original accommodation, we booked last minute/arrived late evening at Rusland Pool very stressed out. A perfect stay, spotless room & yummy breakfast the next morning. Staff were fantastic - from reception to restaurant to housekeeping - just warm & helpful. They even posted us our toddler's stuffed animals, which we accidentally left behind. Highly recommended, thank you so much - glad we ended up at your hotel!
Rating higher for the restaurant, the food was really good, particularly the garlic mushroom starter and the bourginon, the service was very good as well.
Rooms were fine, a bed and bathroom for the night, nothing really to complain about but also nothing to rave about.
Myself and my dad came for an early tea today. First time coming here and the food was absolutely amazing! The service was brilliant too. Very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be coming back and would highly recommend you to my family and friends.

We stopped for a meal, and it was superb. The service was excellent and value for money too. The starter of creamy garlic mushrooms were the best I've tasted, also not surprised the sticky toffee pudding is award winning! Not heavy like others I've tasted, wonderful food great atmosphere and brilliant service.
