Just stopped for a lunch and i went for classic hunter's chicken and it was amazing long time didint had such a good classic pub meal for long time only one minus that the portion of chips and onion ring could be a bit bigger but apart that the foor is amazing and atmosphere is really warm. Highly recommended if you passing through :)
Really delishious and lovely service from the bar tender. We came in 20 minutes before the kitchen shut and had a pie each it was yummy. I am a veggie so had the mushroom pie and my hubby eats meat so he had the chicken. We will be back thank you 🌟
The only downside was, the sharers we ordered, came on one big metal plate,chicken strips and chips,i would've appreciated of they came a bit more organise to go on 2 3 tables,so can everyone help themselves, instead of going to fix a plate.But other than that everything was ok,plenty space for car park, playground for kids, nice atmosphere inside,the staff was very nice. Definitely going back.

At short notice on Sunday 9th July tried to book a table for two online but said full, I phoned up & they said we was welcome to come but may be a little wait.
We arrived about 1.30pm although the restaurant was full, the had tables on the bar area or outside, we sat in the bar area.
We ordered a drink & some food, we could see how busy they were but took our order at the bar, expecting a bit of a wait our food came out very quickly, it was very nice & reasonably priced.
The bar/waiting staff were very courteous & worked hard under pressure, will definitely go back.

Family friendly and also dog friendly with a doggy menu. Lovely local pub, where all appear to be welcome, yet to taste the menu but looks nice from what I've read. Nice sized garden with small play area for kids.
So nice in the sun while the kids were able to play in the playground area! The staff are incredibly friendly and happy to help in anyway. The katsu chicken is a personal favourite that I keep coming back for! I would recommend to anyone
excellent value for money, delicious food and perfect portion size...not overwhelming quantity, just right ✅️ comfortable surroundings and good service. Will definitely revisit.
Impromptu drive into Hatfield Peverel and decided to go for Lunch at Duke of Wellington! The service was prompt, staff very welcoming and Food Serviced was delicious! With so many activities planned throughout August 2023...Will definitely be returning.
Lovely food well cooked and presented. Only gave a 4 star as service was slow due to lack of staff, but would come back again
Sat outside in the rear garden area, nice and clean tables food was good and tasty beer reasonably priced, a bit of noise from the A12 but not too intrusive when talking.
Such a lovely pub. We had the schnitzel special and served by Jo and cherie. Since the new management this pub has really improved. Cannot wait to return to try another one of their specials!
Lots of events like quizzes and live music too we will have to check out!
