Mermaid Fish & Chips Restaurant - Hastings - Photo album

The best fish and chips, it tasted so fresh! Perfect sized portion and very good value for money. Staff were very attentive, will definitely be going back.
Decent cafe with a good choice of different fish options like plaice, rock, scampi . Condiments were extremely cheap and low quality but dishes were good itself. Staff was very efficient and friendly. Lovely outside seating area. So strong 4 stars.
Fish and chips shops are not exactly scarce in Hastings along the front, however chose this place because of the reviews. We werent dissapointed. The fish was beautifully cooked, beautifully white and not at all greasy. Unlike some where you end up with an almost 30/70 batter to fish ratio this bat
Very good food. Expensive compared to all the competition but large portion. Waitress was not the nicest but food was good although it took ages
Honestly one of the best cod I’ve had in years. Juicy, crispy - perfect! The service was fast, friendly and they even gave us extra chips when asked. We’d been aiming to go to the fancier place next door but I’ll definitely be heading straight to mermaids next time :)
Have been visiting the Mermaid for 40+ years, & despite many changes of staff in that time, the fish & chips are still the best. Good size portions, fresh fish cooked perfectly, & very reasonably priced. Excellent.
Lovely location. Staff were very welcoming. England vs Spain was playing at the time & the atmosphere at the location was amazing. Food was fresh & well cooked, they did it the way I requested which made me extra happy.
Beautiful fish and chips. Some of the best I have had. They were very nice and accomidating to my two young kids, and didn't complain once at the mess. Were happy for us to have a plate for the kids to share an adult meal rather than us order extra. Great service.
Whatta great cafe for brekkie and tea. Fish and chips spot on. Oh and the chips😍
Sat outside in the sun. I ate cod and chips; both delicious. But there were a few seagulls eyeing my food. Its located near one of the large car parks on the seafront. Servers were friendly but it was fairly busy.
Amazing food, couldn't ask for more. Battered fish was the best I've ever had. Haddock was the best I've ever had and chips were great. Small restaurant but were able to accommodate our pram being up for our daughter. Would highly recommend.
Come in here evertime we visit Hastings .....very good fish and chips and good size portions
Food great and plenty of it. Drinks a bit pricey. It's worth a visit though. Wife had Rock and chips. She loved it. Not many places sell it.
Wonderful fresh fish chips and a decent cup of tea xx fairly priced and portions just right xx would recommend 😉
We liked it so much good well cooked fish and chips great staff friendly atmosphere.
We ordered a delivery so many places say they have korkers sausages. And this place actually does the food was lovely.Quite nice they put in salt and vinegar and wipes as well.
This is our go to Fish & Chip shop in Hastings. Sensible sized portions and good tasty food. Recommended.
Maggie's (recommend as the best) had shut early so we came here; turned out to be no way a secondary option - fresh fish and crisp yet fluffy chips that weren't at all oily. Lovely staff and chef, we'll definitely be back!
Food is outstanding, herby battered sausage is a welcome change. Chips are lovely and battered sausage delicious. Would avoid the coffee however as 2.50 for a packet cappuccino is a bit much but enjoyed the food very much regardless.
