Reviews Blue Dolphin Fish Bar

Despite the pale looking fish the food was actually very tasty. I would definitely go back here again if ever in Hastings. Prices are much more reasonable than some on the high street (avoid the tourist trap ones on the main sea front!) Only lost a star as cash only and there was a bit of a wait.

I took residents here this week on a day trip from the East side of Kent, after one of the residents asked to go because he used to visit this chip shop once a month in earlier years. He was completely right about the food here. The fish was lovely and the batter was perfect, even the chips were good and I don't normally rate chippy chips much. There were two staff working and they couldn't of been more helpful. It was a long way to go for fish and chips but the meal and revisiting someone's memories was worth it. We sat on the outside seating as it was one of the last days of sun we had this week and the staff brought our food & drinks out to us, great service. Beware of the seagulls though, once you leave a route open to the plates they are in without hesitation, almost a Hitchcock's The Birds moment. Bravo to the Blue Dolphin! πŸ‘ 🐬

We recently had the pleasure of stopping by the Dolphin Fish Bar in Hastings Old Town, where we were fortunate enough to meet Zach and his assistant. Upon walking in, we were immediately struck by the charming and cozy atmosphere, and the friendly service only added to the welcoming vibe. As we perused the menu, Zach and his assistant were incredibly helpful and patient, answering all of our questions and offering their own personal recommendations. We ultimately decided to try the jumbo sausage and batter, which turned out to be an absolute delight. The sausage was juicy and flavorful, and the batter was perfectly crispy and golden. In addition to the delicious food, the location of the Dolphin Fish Bar is simply unbeatable. Situated right on the seafront, it offers stunning views of the ocean and a truly picturesque setting. Whether you're looking for a quick bite during a leisurely walk or a relaxed meal with friends or family, this is the place to be. Overall, we would highly recommend Zach and the Dolphin Fish Bar to anyone visiting Hastings Old Town. With their friendly service, delicious food, and unbeatable location, it's truly a hidden gem and a must-visit for anyone in the area.

Just love this place, been coming here for maybe 30 years and no katter who's running it - can't be the same people ? - never disappoints. Fresh fish freshly cooked and all the trimmings, top rate πŸ‘Œ πŸ˜‹ ❀️

Stopped by for fish and chips at the recommendation of a friend for takeaway. It didn't look the cleanest but the guy we spoke to was really nice and helpful, even gave me a bit of scampi to try when I wasn't quite sure. My friends said they'd share a fish between them and he actually gave them 2 separate bits and threw in free ketchups and tartare sachets. He did really want cash but we didn't have any and so did take card. Prices seemed very reasonable and we sat on the tables over the road looking over the beach which was awesome. Def the best chips I've had in a very long time and you do get a lot.

No pictures because we devoured it in minutes! Food here is always lovely and warm. I think they did give us extra chips because one large portion fed 4 of us. I'd recommend their fish and chips to anyone who visits Hastings πŸ’œ

Chips as they should be. I was brought up on the south coast, and ended up moving to London. Now I can't get decent chips unless I come back to the seaside. Decently priced, very nice portion sizes. I will definitely come here again.

It's good. That's coming from someone who knows the fish and chips shops in the locality. It's on the expensive side, but where isn't these days. Delivery service is available.

What a gem ! Superb fish and chips, the chips were so light and crispy, as was the batter on the fish and extremely friendly service Will definitely be back thank you 😊

Friendly staff. Busy atmosphere. The food was nice enough, but the fish is served skin-on... just to give anyone a heads-up that doesn't like that. We personally don't.

I ate here only once in the past, last October. Got a double large Cod meal, loved it! My second visit, recently on 31st March, I looked forward to a large single Cod meal. However, they didn't have any left, so they gave me 2 medium Cod instead, alas, I didn't enjoy it as much. But, overall, the large Cod is great, so I'll call there again when I next visit Hastings in a few months time...
