My wife and I have recently become Vegan (8months)due to baby allergies. We came here last year and wanted to return so we're very happy to see some Vegan options on the menu.
The Vegan Burger was very tasty, the sweet potato with vegetable chilli was also lovely.
Our older children still eat meat if THEY choose to, the children's menu had good variations and the chicken burger was proper chicken on a nice bun with chips and salad the fish fingers were very posh indeed with beans and chips. Excellent portion size on all four dishes.
The atmosphere is nice and relaxed and the service was brilliant and friendly without being intrusive.
We have been here 2years on the trot and each time we have been very happy with everything.
Excellent food, very well cooked. Smaller on the portion sizes for the money however not tiny and left us full, girlfriends eggs were slightly undercooked. Atmosphere was good and not too packed with slightly quiet music. Fairly quick service with not too long a wait despite being busy at the time. Really friendly staff, highly recommend if you can afford £10 or so per meal. ****
Fabulous dog friendly. Food was delicious. Service fantastic. We will be back.

Can't recommend this place enough. Amazing food, amazing coffee, lovely friendly staff, reasonably priced too.
Prawn salad sandwich was massive and perfectly prepared including the Marie rose sauce. Side salad was fresh, crunchy and diverse. Cappuccino was just the right proportions of Espresso/Milk/Foam so you could still taste the fantastic Sumatra beans. Dog friendly and even has a little quad garden!
Fantastic relaxed venue for breakfast in Hastings. The bacon 🥓 was amazing. Everything was properly cooked from good ingredients. The toast was perfect crunchy thick toast and the bacon 🥓 was amazing.
Atmosphere is like a surf-shop, surfing movie posters, surf boards and a rustic beach-side decor.
Staff were friendly and approachable.
First visit. Very hot Saturday 11.45am surprisingly cool inside. Can't order from the lunch menu until noon. Breakfast menu very tempting especially after seeing my fellow diners food being brought out but I resisted and ordered a seafood sandwich on the understanding it won't be prepared until noon. The cappuccino I also ordered was not to my taste (I love my coffee) but this reminded me of my grandma's 'milky' coffee (no disrespect grandma) and even with an added extra shot, well something had gone wrong. However for everyone who likes a robust coffee I'm sure you can find someone who doesn't so it's only a personal preference. Sandwich..impressive. Triple bread layer of soft, tasty, chewy crusted granary with smoked salmon and prawn filling with a lovely fresh salad and coleslaw. Not possible to eat as a sandwich due to it's size. The salmon was lovely but the prawns needed some seasoning and a piece of lemon would have been nice. I'm sure if I had asked one would have been readily available but felt I'd already caused enough trouble with my coffee so made do. Someone with a bigger appetite would have polished off all the bread but was too much for me (not a complaint!) Prices are very reasonable, more so when you see the portion size (based on my one visit). Service attentive and friendly. Will definitely be returning to explore their menu further.... Update. Revisited Mungos a couple of weeks ago (now summer 2019) and not only was the food just as good and plentiful as before but the proprietor remembered me (and my coffee fussiness!) without any prompt and soon I was presented with a lovely cappuccino to go with my freshly prepared fish. Top marks now.
Amazing breakfast. Bacon and sausage tasted lovely,..several levels above most cafe meats . Real bubble and squeak too. The person who served us was really pleasant and service was so quick. Would definitely go back here.
Fantastic, their £7+ breakfasts are BIG though, go for the £4 breakfasts for something lighter.
Also, you can pretty much ask for exactly what you want. I had 4 eggs on toast with sausage and bacon one day and then brands on toast with 2 sausage and an egg the next. Not on menu, just asked.
This was a lovely place I went to for breakfast before starting my day. I have the Royal Benedict which was honestly the best Benedict Eggs I've had in my life. The draft selection of beers is, well, one beer - Korev Cornish Lager with Soul. It's a refreshingly bold lager that goes great with any egg and toast breakfast in my opinion.
I will definitely be returning here before I leave back to the states, but hopefully I can get British Citizenship and avoid returning all together.
Great place. Nice view, awesome service and absolutely delicious food. Really big portions too! I had a "big breakfast " and it was really hard to finish! Delicious though. I recommend.
