We visited for an evening meal on a Monday evening. The generous helping of food served was delicious, good selection of drinks and all reasonably priced. The pub was more of a dining experience rather than just for a drink and therefore lacked a traditional pub atmosphere. The staff were welcoming, friendly and provided great service.
Called in here without having booked with my sisters at lunch time. Pleasant staff, who showed us to a table immediately. Had wonderful selection of jacket potatoes - just what we wanted, served with a generous salad. Looked through their menu and thought it had a good selection of different dishes, all reasonably priced.
Husband and I came here for lunch today 24th June when visiting Hassocks; after looking online for a place to eat we settled on the Thatched Inn and we’re glad we did. The staff gave us a warm friendly welcome, the pub is dog friendly but as it was a fine day we sat in the garden. The food was freshly cooked, portions were generous and it was all well presented. One of the nicest pub meals we’ve had in a while and we’ll definitely return when we’re visiting again.

It's definitely not often I give 5 Stars, but the Food here thoroughly impressed me and my Family, very generous with the Portions of Salmon and Seafood, my Photo doesn't do it much Justice, I had the Prawn, Salmon & Avocado Salad!
Beer is pricey but that seems to suddenly be the Case everywhere now.
Service was fine.

Pub food at its best! Cumberland sausage with beautifully flavoured onion cider gravy, proper mash and generous fresh vegetables. We were welcomed warmly despite not having booked. Excellent service, enjoyable meal. Didn’t give five stars as the banoffee pie was a let down. Base tasted unpleasant, strange soft ice cream. Could be easily remedied to match the quality of the main course cooking.
Welcoming, clean and spacious public house with additional restaurant set aside from the main bar area. Pleasant and enjoyable visit, made even more enjoyable by the members of staff who displayed a caring nature and provided excellent service, always with a smile.
Look forward to our next visit.
We expected a standard pub and restaurant, but were amazed by this beautiful place. The chief is doing a great job preparing local food and the standards like burgers and fries. Anyhow, he also does a great merengue cake, Eton Mess and similar. And everything freshly prepared, which makes it well worth the wait for the food of 30 minutes. I had a nice lamb burger with sweet potato fries which was gorgeous. If that wasn't enough, the three girls serving us provided a service that was spectacular. Always smiling, always helpful, always at hand which made the whole evening a great experience. Clear recommendation.

This is an absolute diamond jewel of a pub! It is cozy and off the beaten path in the village of Hassocks. It is very popular with the locals, and despite being from out of town they treat you like family and it shows in the menu. This is home cooking at it’s best. The roast beef and potatoes is outstanding!
Do not pass by the Thatched Inn if you are in the area. It is a delight!
A fabulous place to eat. Have been going there for years and it never disappoints. David, Leisa and their staff are very friendly and helpful. Thoroughly recommend!

Went here with 18 people last month, staff were so friendly, food was amazing. It was really clean as well. Would really recommend :)
Outstanding! proper pub grub!!! Gave it a go, the rump steak was excellent! Friendly staff, nice views of the downs- all round had a great evening
Amazing food and service, I had the rump steak cooked medium rare for main and the banoffee pie for pudding. I will definitely be back.
The food was excellent as usual.David is a really lovely guy.Unfortunately there were 2 staff members who were actually abrupt when serving us and had a very poor attitude also seeing a waitress in gym shorts wasn't very appropriate for serving in a restaurant.I would always go back to the Thatch because of david and his family they are just so lovely.
Food was ok, have had better meals here was very salty, pudding was very yummy. Service was VERY slow and staff were a bit grumpy and looked scruffy in over sized clothes.
