We had the Sunday Roasts today.
Both the beef and pork were delicious.
As were the veg, and the massive Yorkshire puddings.
Lovely comfortable setting, and welcoming atmosphere.
Certainly recommend it to anyone who enjoys good food.
The other dishes also look worth a try on another visit.
Great food that`s the main reason to recommend the Hawk. Good price and service, the coal fire is a bonus. 5 ladies who lunch have all enjoyed our meals today.

We had Sunday lunch at the Hawk yesterday ,it was beautiful everything was well cooked came to the table piping hot and they were very generous portions ,Tim was constantly checking to see if everything was OK,well worth a visit

called in on Saturday night, the restaurant was empty and we thought - what have we let ourselves in for but the food was freshly cooked and plenty of it and a warm welcome. Well worth visiting.
First meal here since it reopened. Really good food, very friendly staff which adds to the overall experience. I had steak. It was cooked to perfection. Highly recommended. Will definitely be back! The steak was the most expensive thing on the menu, but well worth it. Only a small menu but all sounded great.
The Hawk has now reopened after a hefty refurbishment and it looks absolutely fantastic! I ventured there for food with my son and the staff were all lovely and friendly. There is a really reasonable kids menu and a bar menu. The food was lovely and served quickly despite being so busy. It's great to have such a beautiful old pub back up and running again and looking fabulous. Would definitely recommend.
What a hidden gem this place is!! Visited today for lunch 3 adults and a child. Little hawks menu is fantastic for children and very reasonably priced. The adult meals were good sized portions and delicious. Super friendly atmosphere and a warm welcome. It was really busy when we arrived and the staff advised a small wait on food which we didn't mind.
The refurb is amazing keeping all the old features but at the same time opening it up inside.
Can't wait to go back for Sunday lunch (they advise booking in advance for this)
Visited today and had a drink and a meal. The place is looking beautiful. Staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive. Food was served in good time and food was delicious, fresh and hot. Amazing job to the Hawk team.
Visited this beautiful little inn today for the first time with my fiancé. The inn has just been refurbished to an excellent standard and the decor is lovely. As soon as we walked through the door we were welcomed with a smile and a friendly “hello”. The food we ordered came quickly and did not disappoint. For my main I had the Hawk Inn burger which was cooked very well and was very juicy. We shall be patronising the Hawk Inn again and again if this standard continues. Well done everyone.
Visited here many a time in the past so just called in for a quick pint and check out the refurb. Must admit The Hawk was looking a bit tired and the refurb has been very sympatheticlly done and really adds to the charm and atmosphere. Didn't dine this time but staff were extremely warm and friendly. Will definitely be back 🙂
Since the Hawk re-opened a few weeks ago I’ve eaten in here 3 times and the food is excellent, the atmosphere and staff very welcoming and wow what an incredible job has been done in renovating this gorgeous 500 year old village gem, it’s beautiful! Good luck for the future and well done!

Came here with our grandparents for dinner, the food was incredible and staff very polite. Especially Jenny ! All staff were extremely attentive. Highly recommend for a nice meal out !

I went off the cuff and because my mum had offered to pay for lunch. Now she had visited with my 93 year grandfather for food on the Monday so I was feeling confident that I wouldn't be disappointed. She gave me the low down as I'm in the business myself. We arrived through the back where there is a car park that is free for patrons. We signed in and proceeded through the bar. I must mention it's an old coach house and it's steeped with history low beams and a feature of the original wall behind some glass. Now I have been on several family occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries alike. The bar is well stocked with up to date brands which wasn't really a feature before. My mum who loves wine selected her favourite and always a large. She then mentioned that the wine selection had improved from the run of the mill Jack rabbit wines. We were handed a paper menu and it's obvious that there venture is in its early stages. By that I mean pub classics and sharers and generally accepted in most pub menu's. There's room to incorporate local produce but in the early stages it's acceptable to play safe. The food arrived after a wait. Now living in and around Chester I was expecting a meager portion but I was wrong. As a chef of some 25 years I saw immediately the effort that had gone into the dish. Ribs fell off the bone wings not dry and flavoursome and a relaxed atmosphere ment we could chat and pick. We felt welcomed from the start and I have to say I'll be going back for sure... We came for tea tonight and the food, service and atmosphere was 10/10. Reasonable prices too, welldone everyone. We will be back
