Stopped in on the off-chance as we were passing by and even though they were about to close they put the fryer back on for us! Really good portion sizes and so tasty. The young lady who served us was so sweet too, good customer service :-)

Recently moved into the area. This was our first lockdown Friday fish and chips. We used to have a great one where we lived in London and used regularly so standards here needed to be high... Massive cod! - 12 inches long at least - freshly cooked and lovely, chips ok too but go for a small/medium portion (unless you want reheated chip butties for a week!)
I don't normally write reviews but a recent trip to Andy's fish bar just made we want to share my experience. If you didn't know there is new management who took over a couple of weeks ago and the food tastes great!

This place hasn't changed since the 70's and that is the charm. Having grown up locally and now living on the far side of the planet it is always great to come back here for proper fish and chips.
One of the best chippy's I have been to( I travel all over the country) The curry sauce is recommended.the portions are big. Will be back next time I'm passing 👍👍👍👍👍👍
I can honistly say they serve one of the best veggie burgers I have come across for fast food. The curry sauce is pretty scrumptious too =)
Definitely a go to if you're in town and need some munch. Good, inexpensive food as well as friendly and speedy service.
