We stumbled upon this little gem of a restaurant while sightseeing in Dovercourt one evening and the smell of the food was so mouth watering that we told ourselves that we HAD to come back tomorrow with the rest of our travel companions to eat here..... I'm glad we did because This eatery was amazing!
The experience started with the owner Ibrahim greeting us as soon as we entered the restaurant.
This is a wonderful man that we were soon to find out puts as much time and love into his food as he does in making sure the customer is happy.
His attentiveness to making sure we understood the dishes and what they contained was a refreshing change to the rushed atmosphere that the majority of eateries have.
One member of our party has a nut allergy and Ibrahim made sure the dish ordered would not have cross contamination or contact with any nuts.
The food arrived and it absolutely blew our minds. Everything was fresh, delicious, and the presentation of it all was something you would find in a five star restaurant. The dishes were a great portion of food but most importantly, the quality was there. Everything on the plate perfectly complimented each other, and there was so much flavour in each dish that we all wished we were hungrier so we could continue on this flavourful journey through the menu.
The Turkish Meze Bar met and exceeded everyone's expectations and I guarantee I will be letting everyone I know to take part in the food and atmosphere of this amazing little restaurant.
The prices are very reasonable, and no word of a lie that if this restaurant was in London, you would need a reservation and expecting to pay double.
I hope everyone has an opportunity to meet Ibrahim and his wonderful family while at the Turkish Meze Bar. Please go and experience the amazing food that he proudly serves.

We loved it here, we were visiting Harwich and picked this restaurant from the reviews. Food was excellent, and was nice that the dishes were explained to us, very reasonable prices too. Friendly staff, it's a shame we don't live closer as we would have definitely visited again, would recommend this restaurant 100%
Came with friends for a birthday meal, amazing atmosphere, delicious food and very well presented you would think your in turkey not harwich, friendly excellent service, would highly recommend

Had a fantastic meal yesterday. Authentic food, very attentive staff, great service. perfect. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Last time we went we ended up belly dancing with the chef! Looking forward to the Turkish night later this month.

I am rather late writing this review as so busy with Christmas and a hubby that got man flu. We went to the Turkish Meze Bar on 17th December for the first time. We were given the menu and between us hadn't a clue what to order a very nice waitress picked up it was our first visit and introduced us to Donny the owner. He made us very welcome my friend said she felt like she was on holiday in Turkey but unfortunately without the sun. First of all we were served with a complimentary appetiser served with Turkish bread which was to die for. He then suggested we shared a mixed Meze 10 cold dishes followed by 4 hot with more of that delicious bread. My friend and we're so full we decided not to have a main course but the men had King prawns served on a ring of rice with what looked like mustard on it. Of course it wasn't it was yoghurt mixed with a variety of tasty spices, my friend and I had a taster and I would definitely choose that. By this time we the girls felt we could manage a dessert and the men couldn't. We both chose baclava full of honey and nuts served with vanilla ice cream which was wonderful. The men loved the Turkish beer and before we left we were also given a beautiful complimentary platter of mixed fruits. We will definitely be going back again my husband has already booked to take his three brothers who live in Ipswich for a boys night out. If you haven't tried it you must my only recommendation take a jumper or cardigan it was a bit chilly in there.
Had a lovely meal tonight, food was very nice and staff were very informative and looked after us well. I would highly recommend and will definitely be eating there again. Thank you.
Been 3 times since opened and each time food has been just as good! Varied menu and lots of choice for vegetarians!

Love this place! It's just like being in Turkey. Brilliant customer service, excellent food, wonderful staff who couldn't do more for you if they tried, lovely atmosphere and great entertainment. What more could you ask for ? Most of the people in my group were not local people from Harwich and didn't realise we had something like this in our small town and all want to return. Congratulations to all the staff for making it one of the most popular places to go. It's just what we needed!
Lovely food, very good service and some lovely freebies for my friends birthday. They were very attentive and couldn't do enough for us. Would definitely recommend.

I had an excellent dining experience at Turkish Meze Bar in Harwich. The food was delicious and prepared in a traditional way. It was also very affordable, and the waitress was friendly, even giving us complimentary pita bread with dips. The restaurant is also very child-friendly. I highly recommend the köfte, lahmacun, and chicken shish kebab. 5 stars!
I’ve been working away this week and stumbled on this fine restaurant, the staff are incredible, the food is outstanding and prices are excellent considering the current climate, the restaurant wasn’t busy but food orders were consistent, like me lucky people who chose correctly in my opinion, I ate here 3 times and was blown away all three times, the taste is straight out of Turkish paradise, the restaurant is well lit and blended with traditional and modern touches. Get your friends and family and come have a treat, you won’t be disappointed I’m sure 👍🏻
Get the ‘Lahmacun’ for an extra treat 😋
Found this place after ferry from Holland last year. Liked it so much we came back this year on our way to Hook of Holland. Food was great and particularly liked friendly service by Kimba, a real asset 😃. We’ll be back next time.
Good place but not great for vegetarian or vegan food. The menu needs to be a bit more clearer as to what is veggie and what's not as it's all in Turkish. However the staff were really nice and helped us pick out the veggie dishes.
Food was delicious and plentiful, pitta and humous/olives etc served while we waited. Service was excellent and very reasonable prices for the quality of food.
We came here as a family of 9 and was very well looked after. The service was brilliant and the food was lovely and definitely hit the spot. Excellent all round
Great food and reasonably priced, we got a table as a walk in on a busy night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Service was prompt and friendly.
Kimba the waitress introduced herself,greeted us and showed us to our table,the food was very good and the place was clean and tidy,the service was excellent and she is by far the best waitress we have had in any establishment

Ended up here after a meal, sounds crazy, but a meal was booked for our family and my daughter was so upset with the food she refused to eat. We have allergies, anxieties and autism... Visiting the area I Google, gluten free local. And randomly this place popped up .. I took her and we walked there ... I can honestly say they were amazing, explained allergies and they went through what she could have and mixed it about... She was comfortable, we were able to get take away and went to the beach. She thoroughly enjoyed it ! Put the biggest smile on her face. I can not be any more thankful for the patience and time you took.. probably seems normal for you but for us it meant so much. When we visit Harwich again, we are coming back

Went here recently after having a takeaway a few months earlier, which was very nice. Decided to sit in and have a meal, very nice would recommend the place to anyone, the reason for only 4 stars and not 5 is due to the wait time, we weren’t in a rush, for a change so this didn’t bother us. Think the wait was due to the amount of Just Eat deliveries they have going on, good on them for being that busy, but be prepared to wait, we felt it was worth it.
The best Turkish food I ever taste and good price
Bright and lively meze bar. Food presented well and kofte especially tasty. Nice range of drinks and plenty of different food options. Service was a little slow to be honest but very friendly.
Great food! We always come here it’s certainly the best Turkish about and the lovely waitress that was kind and very good at her job made the experience even better!

Had our first take out this evening - absolutely delicious. Kebabs full of flavour with tasty rice and sauce. Meze and pitta fantastic and Baklava to finish.
Everything full of flavour and fresh.
No idea why we took so long to try this. If you're missing your Mediterranean holiday this will give you a fix!
