We've just returned from a 1 night stay in the Mayflower Suite at The Pier and we loved every minute of it.
We booked the Fabulous February offer which included the room, a rose and chocolate truffles, a bottle of Tattinger champagne, 3 course dinner (with free choice from the full menu) and breakfast the next day. It was well worth every penny!
The room, situated in a separate building right next door to the main hotel, was one of the best we've stayed in - large and super comfy with a great view of the port. The building has as great residents lounge where we enjoyed our champagne pre-dinner. Dinner was next door in the main hotel. The restaurant is modern and has a real touch of luxury about it. The food was of an exceptional standard - beautifully presented and absolutely delicious (the sticky toffee pudding is the best I have EVER tasted!). After dinner we went down to enjoy a couple of drinks in the Navyard bar which was unbelievably well stocked. It truly is a gin lover's paradise!
Breakfast the next morning did not disappoint - showing the same high standard as the night before with free choice of cooked options as well as cereals, fresh pastries fruit and juices.
Staff were friendly and attentive and really seemed to enjoy their jobs which is testament to the quality of the Milsoms chain.
Out and about there's not really much to see and do at the port, but we did find a couple of little gems - the cafe on the pier and a great pub called there Alma just round the corner.
If R&R/a super chilled romantic break is the aim of your stay then this place will definitely satisfy your needs. We'll be back for sure 😍

Amazing find !! Boyfriend and I spent our evening yesterday here and we both enjoyed our visit immensely. We had a fantastic and very tasty meal which was top notch. The highlight of the evening was having cocktails in the bar with Josh our Barman making some fantastic drinks for us even going to the extent of making a Singapore Sling for me which he had never made before! Think he had great customer service and is a real bonus to this lovely venue .. thanks guys
Thank you so much to everyone at The Pier! We won a competition for a nights stay with three course dinner, champagne and breakfast! We loved our stay with you, the staff are lovely, the rooms are amazing and the food was really lovely too! Thank your for given us the opportunity to stay with you and can't wait to return!
Lovely place, food was amazing had the 3 course special £19.78 in celebration of their 40 year anniversary battered cod was delicious highly recommend
Took advantage of their steak and lobster promotion this week. Absolutely lovely food and helpful friendly staff. Sat out on the balcony enjoying the sunshine and scenery. We took our time and it was a real pleasure.

Food was amazing, staff really helpful and friendly, couldn't fault a thing. Highly recommend the beef stew
A very nice overnight stay for our anniversary lovely seaview room immaculately clean. Highly recommend eating in the restaurant wonderful food and great service,We had breakfast included in our stay again very nice.
Lovely lunch, felt totally spoilt, food was excellent, staff brilliant friendly & very professional , lovely relaxing setting, shame the sun wasn't out, wish all restaurants were like this.
Lovely staff, rooms are very cosy with view to the sea side. I really enjoyed fish and chips which were very fresh and tasty. I will come back there again for sure.
Lovely atmosphere at the Pier , the staff were very accommodating and friendly. The food was very good, all in all a lovely dining experience.
The staff are nice. I think they do great to cover so many tables from their little kitchen. We enjoyed all our food and felt it was generous and well priced. The English breakfasts tasted really yummy. Especially the mushrooms and bacon were cooked really well. My breakfast tasted way better than my photo looks. You have the option of hash brown or sautéed potatoes and white or brown bread. The mac n cheese with garlic bread was good too. As was the homemade cheesecake. They have a good menu range and children's options. The view of all the cranes etc is not something I'd think of as a nice but I enjoyed my visit and we dropped in to donate to the RNLI afterwards whilst showing the children the lifeboats. Lots of ice-cream options and parking nearby. Also there is a brilliant boating lake not far away where you can kayak or paddle board.

Friendly staff. Small indoor seating area and seating out on the pier.
Dog friendly… you can even order a sausage or an ice cream for your best friend.
Good food.
Visited with family in October 2018 with plans to have breakfast but ended up having our meal. Very polite staff and quick service. Tried cooked prawns in shell for the first time. Kids loved the point especially docking of a large ship and the kids helping their families in fishing. Not a place to miss if you are with your kids.
Beautiful little cafe over looking the mouth of the harbour. Had a coffee and milkshake here and both were very nice. Staff with professional and quick even if they were understaffed and busy.
Excellent service and the food, tea and coffee we had was fantastic. A fantastic little cafe and the lovely, friendly staff makes for a great dining experience.
Lovely place lovely people bit disappointed with food though run out of chips no garlic bread and macaroni cheese was just grated cheese put with hot macaroni no sauce no crispy onions sorry
Biked to Shotley from East Bergholt, then ferry to Harwich Pier - could not resist fish pie and a bottle of rose at the Cafe on the Pier. It was superb. Very friendly staff, highly recommend.
There were only two tables free when I visited. The other was taken not long after. Seemed to be a popular place. As soon as a table came free someone sat down. No problems with ordering. Didn't have to wait to be served. Food didn't take long to arrive.
Fresh food, nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Strongly recommended
I had lunch with my friend today. I rang them up and asked if a table could be reserved for us. This was done and when we arrived we were pleased with the service and food many thanks for an enjoyable lunch

We started our wonderful day in Harwich with the best ever breakfast! Fresh crispy bacon, eggs etc. the full monty English breakfast and great mugs of coffee to go with it. All served with a smile. Thank you Trevor and Tim
Amazing mackerel pate. Seriously. It's really good. It's got that great combination of chunky-salty-smoky-creamy that we all want. If they were to have a slightly better salad and bread with the pate it would be outstanding. They do a solid line of cakes and tea and there's plenty of seating outside and enough inside for a cold day. One of our favourite places to visit when sailing.
Lovely little place to grab a bite to eat with great views across harbour..
Lovely place excellent food especially the fish cakes homemade from the little Irish legend in the kitchen :)
We have often enjoyed eating here especially for breakfast! The whole set up is very pleasant, and typically the food is really good. We were slightly disappointed with the coffee this time, it came up very strong, and the scones were ok, but much too big really. A good case of less is more. But we will be back, for sure.
Fantastic little cafe! They offer a good selection of freshly cooked food to order, well worth the short wait. I ordered the all day breakfast which arrived piping hot and was a generous portion. It tasted delicious I couldn't fault it. I'll definitely be going back for another! The staff are friendly and welcoming it's well worth a visit ☺

A chilly day spoiled our visit somewhat. That being said, we only had hot drinks. But other people's food looked nice.
