Went here today to witness a stunning sunrise. Obviously the museum wasn't open but the cannon was there and the light house was lit up. Took some stunning photos of the sunrise over the ocean, very quiet, managed to park up easily and enjoy the most beautiful of scenes. I encourage anyone to experience this at least once. The photos don't do the view justice. It truly was spectacular!

What an amazing place! We stumbled across it by mistake. Such a unique place, run by volunteers who also dress up in period clothing and even sing songs from the war on a little stage. Loads of guns, tanks, artillary, cannons and other buildings. There is a fantastic little cafe too, which has little garden huts to site in. The food is excellent and SO cheap! Truly lovely place, that feels as though its in its own little oasis.

Nice day out, the food in the cafe is cheap and a good value for money. The staff is very friendly and the chaps in the gun exhibition are very knowledgeable. But the museum is small and some of the exhibits are falling into disrepair. You may also have a hard time finding parking.

Amazing place. Hartlepool is a real gem.Headland, crimdon Dean beach, marina, the port. I did not realise Hartlepool,Whitby & Scarborough were all bombarded by the Germans on 16th December 1914. The Battery is the only battlefield in UK ww1! Wow

A terrific little museum. A lot more to see than you'd think. The tea room is worth a visit as well, they serve a mean sarnie.

Visited on a blustery Saturday afternoon and loved the whole set up. Some great Artillery exhibition pieces with excellent description plaques. Lovely Cafe too with friendly Staff. Interesting to see that the Entry Fee was “Pay what you want too”. Well worth a visit.

Once again an excellent visit. Was a cold drizzly day but our hot chocolate and bacon sandwiches soon remedied that. The shed pods for a cafe are a great idea. Out of the breeze with blankets on our knees. The artifacts are interesting and really captured our imaginations. My boys loved the vickers machine gun. It was a shame we couldn't get into the gun room due to some over interested tourists hogging the area. We really felt the museum was great but could do with a bit more funding to save some of the items. Everyone who worked there were brilliant. Thanks for a lovely time.

What a hidden gem this is. Hartlepool harbour and marina is well worth a visit, but venture further to the historic pointlans and find this great little museum. The story of the bombardment of Hartlepool is very sad and tells of the folly of war, and the stunning sea views and striking military memorabilia make for an excellent afternoon, set off by some tasty treats from the great little cafe.
