A lovely place, something a bit different for Hartlepool. Great beer and drinks selection. Didn't have any cheese this visit, but the platters looked lovely. The couple who run it were friendly and have some great ideas to keep it fresh. I'm definitely going to be a regular here.
Myself and a couple of my mates have been a few times over the last few month or so and we've all thoroughly enjoyed it every time we've been in. The warm welcome sets the ball rolling From the offset. With a top selection of ales and spirits on offer, it's a great place to visit for either a quick drink or even for a night out. We've ended up staying for hours at a time the last few visits. The added bonus of being able to enjoy a wide variety of quality cheese, a pork pie or different filled scotch eggs as you drink only make you stay longer! What's not to love about that eh?! This works hand in hand with the very relaxed and chilled atmosphere which is enhanced by the decent selection of music in the background. Also, I dare to say, we've been drinking our body weight in Clwb Tropicana on every visit too!! We will be back again shortly for another pint.....or two!! 👍🏻🍺😘

Even though I live at the opposite side of town, Hops and Cheese is officially my local. Callum and Hannah are great hosts and now great friends which contributes to a fantastic atmosphere. Oh and the beer is fantastic too!
Popped in over the weekend, cracking place with some good variety in beers! Friendly staff and a good atmosphere, will visit again!

Been a couple of times now, such a nice little place. The tiny rebel tropicana ipa is lush and I'm buzzing somewhere in pools is selling delirium. I hope you guys plan to rotate some of your beer taps so the town can be introduced to new beers every couple of weeks. Cheese and meat boards are a treat and the scotch eggs are probably the nicest I've had.
Bar staff are very friendly and very knowledgeable about all the beer, wine and cheese they served. Great atmosphere and fantastic selection of drinks.

Great place very relaxed i sampled the Brewdog 5am saint and Northumbrian Blonde which both were lovely drinks, having the option to have a few nibbles at the same time was a great extra, definitely be back �

Knowledgeable staff on what was served. Big portions. Enough for the three of us. Cheese, meat and preserves went great together.
First off, I came here on the last day of the Tall Ships festival which is a Sunday so I was really annoyed that the full food menu was not available. I understand that my annoyance was NOT the fault of the bar but because I was 'hangry' and when the words "I'm sorry but we only have steak pie and cheese left" I cheered up immensely! A nice pie, great cheese, and a picked egg really made my day and was honestly the best food i have had since i arrived 5 days ago! A cider that was very good... but also good enough for me to know that a second would have jeopardised my train home! It also may seem a small thing, but a pub that leaves toiletries etc available for customers is a rarity and should be applauded. Lots of bar games available amd comfortable seats. By far my favourite place for a long while... and I have been around a bar or 2! Great work folks!
Good beer selection and really happy friendly atmosphere. I'm not a massive fan of the layout if I'm honest, I think it lacks character, but I can forgive that when they have great beers on tap and chatty locals. Definitely recommend a visit if you like beer (and cheese I suppose, but I hate cheese).
Great way to spend a Saturday with the hubby after work. Great drink chesse board to die for love this place. If you want a good pint in a good relaxed place go to Hops and Cheese
This was our first visit and it was lovely. A small place but comfortable surroundings. The cheese and meat platter included cheese that we wouldn't normally buy and was great. Nice choice of beers. We will be back.
Excellent range of real ales on cask and keg. All in excellent form. The cheese boards and scotch eggs were top notch too. Can't wait to go back
Great neighborhood bar. Enjoyed talking with the owners and other patrons. The space was inviting and comfortable. A good selection of beers to try. Excellent!
Craft beer, wine and cider. Not drinking no problem as they serve coffee and none achohol beverages. Gorgeous cheese plater. Would recommend and I will definitely be booking again.
