My husband and I came for our Sunday lunch yesterday. It's about an 1hr drive from our home but is totally worth the trip. It's been our 4th visit since we stumbled across it 1 year ago and we can never fault the service or the meals. We both had the roast beef dinner which was delicious. I had the profiteroles for my dessert which was simply divine, just melted in my mouth. Totally recommend them. Always guaranteed a warm welcome from the staff. Looking forward to our next visit.
Excellent food, hubbie hsd rump steak, melted in his mouth, could have been fooled it was a fillet steak. The Butternut Squash Rissoto was lovely and tasty.
Excellent attentive service, clean surrounding and a bonus as we used our Gourmet Society card which gave us 2 for 1 on main meals. Not local but would recommend.
Absolute surprise. Rounded the corner and this old unassuming pub with its walled banner announcing its award (although on entering it was from 2013) hove into view. Swung in to discover chunky varnished tables on wooden floorboards with settings for 2, 4, 6 people etc in a small restaurant. V clean surroundings. Food fairly priced (three courses Ā£20) the quality of service and freshness of the vegetables meant it was unhurried money well spent. The warm plates held exquisitely placed fayre. Works of art. Hell, I even burnt my fingers (gently) on the doughy bread rolls done to perfection with a serving of real butter. Thoroughly recommended. I had the chicken and bacon terrine to start, roast pork main, lovely crackling, Sticky toffee pudding and custard to finish.
Lovely meal. And a lovely friendly place to eat too.
Food is simply gorgeous, the staff are so nice and helpful.
Gorgeous meal. Homemade bread was lovely. Children menu was much nicer than usual at other pubs -our daughter enjoyed garlic bread, homemade pasta and sauce and rice pudding with a dollop of jam in the middle! !! Our meals were beautifully presented and full of flavour. An excellent meal in a stylish restaurant at the pub! Thank you to all of the staff!
I visited this evening, around 5pm, and was greeted by a gentleman behind the bar. I was offered a seat in either the bar or the restaurant, I chose the restaurant.
The fire š„ was on, which was lovely and there were plenty of places to sit.
The restaurant and bar was clean and tidy, and the place had a good ambienceš®/feel to it.
I was served quickly and professionally.
The food was good, I enjoyed the meal, I had the chicken and ham pie option with green vegetables (tasty). And because it was such a long day at work I enjoyed a cappuccino āš¤©
The price was very fair and I would definitely recommend visiting if you're in the area on business or even passing through.

Not local to the area, we spent the day on SVR then drove around in the evening looking for somewhere to eat. We stumbled by chance on the White Hart. We ordered a spicy sharing platter, chunky chips and the biggest bowl of Halloumi fries we have ever seen! With 2 drinks this came to just over Ā£30. We thought this was very reasonable until we saw the food and then we knew it was more than reasonable, it was such good value. As it turned out also delicious! Thank you to The White Hart. We are so glad we stumbled across this little Gem! We left stuffed but very happy!
went here to meet friends and two had fish and chips and two of us had the pie. Nice portion and all enjoyed the meal. Staff friendly and helpful though no draft beer on as week day and no call as goes off but other choices so not an issue

Popped in here 2 weeks ago for a Sunday lunch, service was good and the meal was probably one of the best Sunday lunches we have had. It took a while to arrive but understand why as it was all freshly cooked, not your normal carvery affair. So thought we'd pop in today to try the normal menu and it was again superb, the carbonara was fantastic, and the young lady behind the bar was very good. Can't understand how anyone can give this place 1*, having only been here twice it is a hidden jem and we will defiantly return. Well priced and all cooked to order.
I chose the White Hart for a baby shower get together for 14 of us and it was just perfect. The bistro lounge was a private area and we had afternoon tea which was fantastic. Good quantities of everything and good quality ingredients. From the initial planning through to today it was completely faultless, (even the change of date due to baby arriving much earlier than expected). Everyone said how lovely the food was and will definitely return for other meals. 5 star food, service and venue. āļø

First time here after being recommended by a friend. Nice food, sharing starter will feed 4 not 2, way too much as a starter. However all very tasty and we didnāt finish the mains because of the starter size. Service was very good and reasonable prices, we will return.
We came to the white heart for a birthday meal witch my daughter booked for my birthday we had 4 people that didnāt turn up and straight away they told use not to worry about it and enjoy the evening the food was delicious and all the staff and service was excellent and they even gave me a birthday card from all of them which was a nice gesture we recommend you go try it out we will definitely be returning. We went for a staff meal. The drinks were incredibly expensive. I'm glad I chose to drive and stick to soft drinks!
I was looking forward to my green Thai noodles. They came presented in a lovely black bowl with matching chopsticks. Unfortunately the veg had obviously been sitting around in the fairly tasteless sauce for quite a while and was brown & soggy. I didn't have dessert but heard from others that the sticky toffee pudding wasn't great either. For the price it was extreemly disappointing.
Booked for our 26th anniversary, never been before. They made it an amazing evening. A card waiting on our table and Prosecco to start! Food was lovely. Staff so helpful. To top it all off a wonderful anniversary brownie, canāt thank you enough.

The food was lovely, the drinks were delicious - especially the 5 for Ā£25 cocktails.

An absolutely wonderful place. Andy was so helpful and funny with it. We had a laugh and booked my birthday party for next year in August. Lovely venue. The food was excellent, the ambiance was perfect. Background music, just right. All in all, a lovely pub. Sorry so late with the review, Andy. One other thing, got any roast potatoes, bud?!!!!
