Lovely department store with beautiful clothes, accessories & beauty with perfume stands. Staff are polite, helpful and friendly.
Went into hoopers today to look for a specific aftershave with my grandparents, however it was out of stock. I was served by Karen and she was really really helpful and friendly. She recommend alternative scents and sprayed numerous testers to help me find one i liked. She is a credit to the shop.
Also the shop had a great range of products and very tidy. Will definitely return in future.
This is a traditional classic up market department store. The usual cosmetics department and ladies fashion with a small men's department on the lower floor selling designer brands. There is also a nice café on the lower floor and toilets.
I don’t get to Harrogate often, but since the demise of Rackhams in Skipton, I’ve enjoyed taking the odd trip over the tops to Hoopers in Harrogate, and making more of a day of my shopping trips.
Today’s visit was excellent as usual. There is a disabled parking bay at the beginning of the street opposite, so it was easy to park up and then roll in to the store. On the disabled access note, the store entrance is level and there is a small lift at the back if you need to visit any other floors. Today I stayed on the ground floor.
It wasn’t far from closing time when I arrived, but there was no sense of anyone rushing me when I approached a counter for help. The service from the lady on the Estée Lauder counter was excellent, including finding me a shade of lipstick on the Clinique counter when we worked out that her brand didn’t have the right shade - this may sound like I was being weirdly specific, but since this is to be worn to a wedding, it wasn’t just a casual “wonder what they have” mission.
When it turned out the perfect shade was not in stock, she was kind enough to recommend the nearby Boots and give me directions to reach it that were also step free. She even offered to walk over herself and check for me, which was certainly above and beyond, and instead I thanked her and went myself.
This is the first time I’ve needed help on the shop floor at Hoopers, but based on this experience, I’ll not hesitate to ask again.
Staff always Very friendly and willing to assist.
A different range of products to other shops in the area.
The food served in the restaurant is top draw, had two excellent meals in two weeks.
Popped in to buy a chanel lipstick ..
And a squirt of some expensive parfum..
Only been in once before but was desperate to find a lipstick I liked A lovely member of staff helped me and before I knew it she was making my face up and advising on what I needed. So sorry I didn’t get her name, very blonde, flamboyant eye make up and a fantastic member of staff. To her supervisors, look after her, she’s a gem. I spent over £100 and no pressure. Thank you . X
Pleasant, well laid out and the only department store left in Harrogate. Has a traditional feel - and is all the better for that, like Betty's which is only 5 minutes walk away. Set in the heart of the shopping area with perfume, luxury goods, clothing etc. and a cafe in the basement. Not cheap, but better quality in most things. Helpful staff guide customers and, should you need it, the lift works, too!
Lovely store. Staff excellent and very helpful.
I was in Hoppers and spoke with Charlotte on the Mac counter. To say she was wonderful is an understatement. Not only did she do an astounding makeover on me, she explained the products and techniques. I left feeling like a million dollars and delighted with my purchases. Great customer service, friendly, helpful and professional. Thank you.
A great little department store. It's size is a positive offering a great selection of everything.
What a wonderful, unique department store in Harrogate! The lady who served me was extremely helpful and knowledgeable as I was looking for a gift. I bought a high quality product and everyone is extremely satisfied.
