Great find whilst staying in Harrogate for a few days. Lovely decor and ambience. Great burger and chunky chips and the onion rings were excellent too. Dessert also really good if a little on the small side. Would be a frequent visitor if I was a local!
Fantastic pub! We called in on a whim on our way back to York, it was very busy but we were seated right away. Good menu that is small but interesting, prices are on the higher side but completely worth it when the quality matches. I’m not usually a dessert eater but the Black Forest arctic slice was divine! Decor is tasteful, terrace was nice for a drink. We’ll definitely call again.
Popped in for Sunday roast on the way back from Harrogate.
Good quality food, nice atmosphere... they allow dogs and that's a plus. Only downside was waiter forgot to bring me my Yorkshire pudding!! Oh well, couldn't have fitted it in to be honest!
The first contact didn't start well. From making an online booking to turning up at the restaurant, I received 4 emails and was unexpectedly charged £10 in advance. This was later taken off the bill.
After that, the experience was near faultless.
It has beautiful views of open countryside from the back. The interior is tastefully decorated and has a great, warm atmosphere. Some of the tables enjoy the beautiful views.
The menu was nicely balanced, with a good variety of dishes. Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free are marked on the menu.
Service was top notch, polite, professional, and efficient, throughout the meal.
The food was of a really good standard, nicely cooked, seasoned, and presented. We thought the portion sizes were about right.
We'll happily be making a return.
Easter Sunday visit. Great staff, great atmosphere and some great food. As a vegan I was so well catered for. The Nut Roast is without question the best I have ever had. Genuinely so moist and yummy. Other dishes failed to reach such standard. Bang Bang Cauliflower was a bit sour and my partners Cheese pie was so salty, but exchanged with no fuss and great apology. A well run pub. I would return (even if it was just for that Nut roast!)
The Nelson Inn is a beautifully presented little country pub, has had a makeover, and reopened November last year. The food was excellent and the staff were fantastic, you can bring in your dog, they even have snacks for your dog at the door, the outside beer garden is fantastic. Stop and have a few bevies. You won't regret it.
Absolutely beautiful, great food, great atmosphere and absolutely lovely staff- can’t fault the place. We’ll definitely be visiting again from stockport
Arrived at 6.45 on a Sunday evening (we booked). Waited at the bar whilst 1 other person was served before us. In that time whilst we stood there some drinks tickets came through, the bar man then started making them drinks instead of greeting or serving us even though we had been stood there a fair few minutes and weren't even acknowledged.
Once seated service was slow to take our order considering it was very quiet.
Food was excellent 👌 10/10 in the chefing department. We had all 3 courses.
Lovely waitress who took over looking after us and she could not be faulted!
Would definitely go back and just hope for better service.
What an absolutely lovely place. Fab service, everyone helpful with a smile. Food was great and the outside area is a total sun trap! Thank you, we’ll be back!
Staff are fabulous. We had such a delicious meal & great service on Friday night, we decided to go back for Sunday lunch. Special mention for Matthew as he remembered us when we arrived & even remembered what wine we liked, making us feel really valued. The shoulder of lamb on Friday was wonderful & Sunday lunch didn't disappoint. We'll definitely be back.
