First visit in a while and also since re-vamp. In my/our opinion it is better than before even though we did like it before it was done out. The menu is good and the food was excellent. Nice and hot and well presented. It has a much better feel about the place. Very Modern. (yes I know it should be as it's just been done) If you're an ale fan there is a vast selection to choose from instead of just your standard choices within a modern eatery. The place is even dog friendly with dog biscuits at the ready. The people had obviously been before as their dogs knew where to go and wait for the biscuits.
The Manager and staff were very good and attentive where possible. A good place to go.
Great food is just the start, then there’s the staff, a really helpful and friendly bunch with great service and customer care.
Definitely recommend this place as we will return time and time again while it’s like this.
went to classic car show never heard of place before, Show was great not many there but real friendly bunch decided to have dinner food was top notch and staff where great looking forwards to next show got a few of us with classics coming from york and going to bring vehicles and have dinner and drink great place
Found this place by complete accident on a visit to Harrogate. What a gem! Gorgeous location, gorgeous decor and most importantly beyond gorgeous food! The owner was a proper nice guy as well. Can highly recommend the lasagne, hunters chicken and cheesy garlic bread! Will definitely be back again! �

This is our local pub and we love the refurbishment and the Landlord and staff are great... they always look after us and nothing is too much trouble.
We eat out at least once a week and as a lover of fish, I was very happy to see seabass on the specials menu. I am very critical when it comes to fish and am very pleased to say that I had the best seabass I have had for quite a while!
Well done to everyone involved and a big thumbs up to the chef....

Visited today with my two children they both loved the wacky warehouse the staff where brilliant and very friendly and food was well worth the money we defo will visit again when where back over that way grate family friendly place to go 👍☺
I have been twice and love it really friendly staff and let's face it that what makes a good pub I would recommend the cheese and onion potato pie roast dinner.And if you have kids the wacky warehouse is a good way for them to burn off some steam.im really impressed and give it 5 stars
Absolutely amazing food and staff highly recommend we traveled 30 plus miles to eat here.
We had a lovely meal and the desert was to die for all in all it was perfect very happy will be going back again for sure great value for money to thank you.
Been to squinting cat in harrogate quite a few times when we stay over the food is brilliant the staff make you very welcome all in all is a fab pub would recommend it to anyone xx

Visited last week for dinner - had the fish sharer starter, chorizo and avocado burger and the Mac and cheese! Absolutely delicious food and lovely refurb! Food much better than it used to be!
The Squinting Cat has been our local for many, many years and has changed a lot over the years. Happy to report the new management seems to be a breath of fresh air. We visited this evening for the first time in a while for our daughter’s birthday. The staff were very welcoming, helpful, and lovely with our daughter. The food is great value and we were very impressed with the friendly service. Still needs refining around the edges but a very welcome change. Hope it can be a success for the friendly new team.

Booked a table, not really needed as it was lovely and quiet. Decided to have our first bar meal out since the pandemic began.
Staff were friendly, approachable and relaxed. Atmosphere was a bit like a library but we needed the peace and quiet ❤️
We ordered hand battered fish and chips (with peas), and loaded steak sunday. Tasty, good portions +price. Even got to try a unique cider whilst I was there. Well worth the walk over, we will be back again.. Great to find a welcoming local for us 🥰

We are now regulars, loving each dish we get & I'm trying pale ales and IPA guest ales each time I'm in. Not had one reaction to any of the dishes which are milk free (really badly intolerant to dairy protein), so for me this place is heaven!

Still reaction free when having dishes, using my 20% off food discount is really easy. We struggle to go regularly due to my recent change in job, but hopefully this will change soon! Staff have changed but a few regular faces left. Nothing changed a lot, and service still really good!
Great value for money a little disappointed that the sizzling meal didn't come on a sizzling rack, apparently they had no onions ?. But it was served on a plate perfectly cooked generous size gammon very enjoyable. It has recently installed a new manager and staff and as a regular visitor here i must say a very much improved atmosphere. Met the assistant manager Chris (Sir) great guy very welcoming. I recommend this place for the good atmosphere, good food and good deals.
We called in at the squinting cat for a quick meal before visiting Harrogate ,The pub was clean and staff friendly ,The food was okay, similar to Wetherspoons , and reasonably priced ,it has a nice outside area which would be good in summer, we would come again for a cheap quick meal.

Staying here overnight in our Motorhome in btm car park , lovely pub had a meal and a few drinks all good at a reasonable price. Very quiet overnight , woke up to see squirrels climbing trees next to us. Definitely would recommend just booked through Greene booking system & asked to stay via the add on messaging. Staff all good and friendly, pub is dog friendly too with large screens with Sky Sports.
great place to visit. Loads of parking. The new management are brilliant. 100% better than the shambles it was with the old manager. People don’t like change even when it’s for the better. Recommend the cask ales.

First time I'd been in this pub. Only stayed for a couple of drinks but the food looked lovely. If I go to this pub again I will definitely have a meal there.
Midweek treat. The combined offer makes it great value. The gammon is always good, she had the Jamaican Stew but was shy of letting me take a snap !
