Can't fault this place. Have gone past on a few occasions but never called in until this Sunday (August 13th)
Had the ''Kickass Chicken' and a pint of Daleside Blonde.
Both were exquisite and would highly recommend.
Will not be driving past again without stopping.

I have passed this pub for over 30 years on the way to Brimham Rocks , finally ventured in. It is an absolutely lovely pub, food fantastic, staff extremely friendly. Highly recommend, and definitely don't leave it over 30 years to go like I did , as your missing out
Lovely home made food from snacks to 3 course meals, portions are big ! It's a very friendly atmosphere & staff are great & down to earth . Definitely recommend. Also very dog friendly & sell homemade dog biscuits . πΎ
After a walk (drive on scooter for me) we went for our sunday dinner. Even Meg got a lot of meat. Yummi. Definitely would recommend as staff and food very good.
Friendly staff. Lovely food. This is a place I have visited many times over the past few years, with my biker family and personal family.
After a walk with our dog we called in for a drink, having not been here for about three years.
A nice pub to relax with a good selection of beers, the staff were very friendly.
A lovely warm and cosy atmosphere after a long walk.

Staff are helpful and happy and do as much as they can to make sure your visit is a good one. Maybe an hour away but I think it is worth it for the amazing Broccoli and Cheese Bake

Not been here in a long while, I use to come a lot when my friend worked here. Me and my wife had a lovely walk around Swinsty Reservoir before dinner and decided to call in for lunch. We walked in to a very warm welcome by the staff, we ordered drinks and food and Sat at a table next to the fire which was grand as we were wet through. Our meals were fantastic, you don't get many places that serve food like this. We were that impressed we will be back very soon and will tell all our friends and family what a Yorkshire gem this place is. Keep up the good work.
Quick stop of with the wife and in laws. Got a close up meeting with Henry the peacock. Usually come here with mi wife on the motorbike. Great pub great surroundings and lovely food. Staff are lovely too. οΏ½
Food was good ..arrived quickly must have been 50 or so of us turned up...some had food some didn't...will be going again.
Love coming here for family meals. Food always tastes amazing and hot and is so filling.
Most recent visit was Friday 5th and it was really busy, busier than we've ever seen before, and there was quite a wait for the food (50 minutes). The carrots were quite undercooked (for everyone), and my custard was very runny for my dessert, and my cokes were both flat, but it was still absolutely amazing and I INHALED all of it.
Cosy vibes but the fire can make it smell quite unpleasant which you don't want when you're eating.

This place is about as authentic as you can get for a traditional country pub. The whole place oozes character and has a relaxing, homely atmosphere. The location is great, with several reservoir walks nearby.
There's ample parking outside, along with a beer garden and a few benches.
Inside, lighting is quite low and natural. Most walls are stone and characterful. There are a few open fires dotted around the rooms. There's a pool table in one room.
Service was friendly and welcoming. We ordered at the bar, where there was an option to tip on the payment console.
The food was good, kind of cheap and cheerful based on what we ordered (scampi, burger, chips).
I have visited before, and do know the homemade dishes are very good. Other reviewers have highlighted this.
I'll happily be returning.
Went for a lovely meal. Had steak pie and chips with veg. Absolutely lovely. The staff were kind and the prices were very reasonable. Talk about a proper genuine country pub!
Called in for a late afternoon Sunday dinner. Arrived about 15.45 and the carvery selection was limited to just beef but what a joint of beef it was. I prefer it slightly rarer but it was beautifully tender and juicy with a fantastic flavour and we were given two very generous slices (it was a very large cut). Accompanying veg and Yorkshire puddings were equally as tasty. Service was friendly and efficient. Excellent value too. Thanks for a great Sunday dinner π
Nice atmosphere in the pub. Lovely warm real fires and wood burners dotted about. Staff nice and helpful. Food is excellent value for money. Steaks were exceptional for the price. We paid for 2 people what we would generally pay for 1. Will be back.
Lovely, friendly place to stop, even if you're on your own.
I decided to pop in for a quick drink and a bite to eat, on my way home.
Food very reasonably priced, so I placed my order and headed quickly for ghs restroom - when I returned to my table, my food arrived at the same time! Great service, and friendly staff, who very quickly cleared the table as soon as I'd finished.

This pub is the definition of how to do food and hospitality to a top standard and great value. Great staff and unbelievable quality food at a great price, I can highly recommend the kickass chicken and my wife says the steak was amazing and doesn't know how they do it for the price . All in all it's definitely worth a visit if you are in the area and you like great quality food at a great price ππ

Been here so many times for birthdays and celebrations and cannot fault it at all. Never had a bad meal. So cozy with fireplaces lit and a perfect place for families and dogs. Very reasonably priced for good quality meals
