Stumbled upon Yorkshire Tapas while exploring Harrogate. While the concept is great, the food was quite average and the service was a massive let down.
We waited nearly 30 mins for our order and the food wasn't even warm when it arrived. We went on a Saturday afternoon when the restaurant was quite empty, so not sure what delayed our orders.
We order the Tatties Bravas which was okay, and the Yorkshire onion bhaji and chickpea fennel patty Yorkshire Pudding. While the tapas fusion concept sounded great, they all tasted average.
The bar itself is quite nice, but the food / restaurant seems to be an afterthought.
Such a great venue, old school pub vibes. Visiting the area and thoroughly enjoyed this bar. Very friendly bar staff and the food was beyond tasty, like all the best bits of a roast put into tapas. Great atmosphere enjoyed by regulars and visitors like myself. Live music on the night was enjoyable too. Only issue is the venue is too small, when I tried to return for the second time on a Friday for the live band, it was full and I couldn’t get in haha. I will return in the future and get there early!
Yorkshire Tapas @the Blues is a true haven for music lovers and cocktail connoisseurs alike. With its incredible live performances, exceptional drink selection, and inviting ambiance, it's the perfect destination for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and immerse themselves in an evening of pure bliss. So why not treat yourself to a night out at the Blues Bar? You won't be disappointed.
Great little music themed bar with unique decor. Pleasant and friendly, with good selection of real ales served with a smile. Have not tried the famous Yorkshire tapas, or been in for the music nights. Well worth a visit if you are in town. 👍🍻
We went here on Fri 22nd April for the live music which started at 9pm. Only intended to stay for a couple of drinks but stayed till closing because the band were excellent! Small, gritty, not much seating and tiny little bar. A few characters (a bit like the bar from Star Wars😃) but everyone was friendly enough and we had a good laugh!
We thought the idea was novel so we gave this place a try for dinner. We were very pleasantly surprised!
Booking ahead was necessary, and we originally had a small table in the corner. But the staff moved us to one of the several booths as one became available.
The staff were great and accommodating. We did wait a little while for our bill, but otherwise very attentive.
Food was fantastic! The red slaw and masala prawns were favouritea of ours.
I wouldn't recommend the cocktails - go here for the food!!
Most of the menu could be made gluten free! Food was delicious. Service/staff were very friendly and lovely.
The rhubarb cocktail was delicious.
My first time at a live music blues bar and it was great! Got very busy very quickly downstairs but was still a great atmosphere. Music was great.
Fantastic little find, don't know how I've not seen it before.
Called in for a late pint or 3 on the way back to the hotel.
Just Missed the band, I won't next time !!
Andy-mac from Liverpool.
We didn't eat here, just beer and a band with a passionate audience. We are from outside of town and only visit occasionally. It's bloody good, I wish we had a bar like this locally in Lincolnshire. Good beers served too. Fantastic.
We both love this place to see bands. Great atmosphere n very quirky decor. Not eaten there yet but a nice little menu .... Will give a go next time I'm there.
Really lovely service.
Calamari was insanely delicious
Also has the bonbons and the beef Yorkshire puddings, Patatas bravas, garlic bread and sticky piggies. Nothing was faulted create experience
Food:
We went there for lunch but didn’t know what tapas meant. I’d say it’s suitable for having small talks while drinking and having small plates of food as a complimentary snack. Not to fill your groaning stomach 😂
Anyways, I recommend pork ribs and some potato dish in the pic below 😁
Atmosphere:
They do have live music on ground floor (probably at evening/night).
Second floor’s interior was completely different from the picture on google maps!
Unfortunately the tasteless high built-in sofa backrest blocked half of the windows and gave gothic kind of feeling. Seatings and tables weren’t super hygienic either
Service:
We felt welcomed 😄
Price:
All of the food costed around £21 (no drinks)
Nice pub, sat upstairs to eat. Food and service was great. Good cask beer. Live music and friendly atmosphere. Definitely a gem of Harrogate.
Don't go thinking this is a full time restaurant. It is a small bar but what a find. We went on a Sunday early evening and it was packed. It is also a music venue where 3 different bands were on. A great selection of real ales. A deservedly buzzing venue. Not difficult to see why it is popular.
Food is gorgeous so tasty
Great little gem. We went for a pint while in Harrogate as not many pubs around for our liking. Went in here for a guinness before the band played and was a great pint and a great atmosphere! Landlord friendly. Will be visiting again when back in Harrogate. Thankyou
