Fabulous food. Great service. Totally recommend this place for a Sunday lunch. The beef was amazing (and the fish and chips wasn't far behind).
Never eaten here before was very impressed!
The service was brilliant and we were well looked after , the food was epic clean plates all round the beef fillet is excellent compliments to the chef !!
All in all a fantastic night highly recommend
This was a real blast from my past! Not been in years but had a lovely dinner. Our waitress was fantastic very attentive and friendly. A great and v reasonably priced early doors menu. Would highly recommend.
Great place to meet and eat, great food great atmosphere. All the staff very friendly would recommend anyone to visit.Break the Chain Support Local
Our first time here & we’ll definitely be back!
Try the Sharing starter which is bloody fabulous & huge 👍. Easily an excellent main course!
Our party of 4 had different mains & our friends were gushing about our local despite it being our first time! But all mains were excellent. No room for pub and wine was reasonably priced.
Thank you Tannin Level for a great night - you will definitely see us again!
Soon 😜
Fantastic food, service and atmosphere. Highly recommend this little treasure. Support local businesses and go for a unique experience. The Rioja was also extremely good!
Fantastic food. Great staff. Amazing manager. Huge portions. Great wine selection. Sooooo much better than a chain
Had a meal New Year's Eve for friends pre 60th birthday celebrations, everything was fab from the staff to the food.
Gorgeous food and great staff. Cannot fault it. Steak night is brilliant
Best food I've had in a long time! The burger was amazing 😍 The service was great too!
The verdict - a lovely cosy restaurant (while quite large, there are several alcoves and arches which give a feeling of privacy), good service and excellent food and wines. Scoring 4.5 out of 5 in the LardButty index, it's definitely a hit.
The Tannin Level’s menu caters for all tastes and dietary requirements. There’s a good variety of dishes, with plenty of seafood and vegetarian options...
We had a very enjoyable Sunday Roast here. The food was excellent and the service was prompt and friendly.
Although it was excellent, it gets 4 stars because it isn't the best in Harrogate but its certainly up there.
Had an amazing Sunday roast, with a soup to start!
Service was great and staff were super welcoming and friendly.
Highly recommend it does get busy so best to book!
It wasn't my first, or last, visit to the Tannin Level. It's a well established restaurant, with a great reputation.
The atmosphere has an almost romantic feel, with thoughtful lighting throughout. Despite being on the lower ground floor, it felt spacious. However, it can get a bit loud when it's busy.
Service was friendly, professional and mostly efficient.
I really liked the menus. There's focus on in season produce and with local provenance. There were clearly marked vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options.
The food was delicious and well presented. I really appreciated the balance of flavours and textures. I felt the portion sizes were about right.
Having a simple option like fish and chips on the evening menu would have been welcomed.
Exceptional food. Visited this week and wow. Yorkshire on a plate is 100% achieved here. We love fine dining and this was well up there. Cannot wait to go back. Service was fantastic, lovely people, superb portions. The trio of pork was out of this world....no exaggeration!! You must visit, parking is easily accessible across the road and free of an evening. Love love love!
From the moment we crossed the threshold the service was exceptional. This place has a lovely warm and welcoming atmosphere, no trashy music, just a lovely hum from the diners enjoying their evening.
The choice of food was fantastic, making it a difficult decision but everything that was served was generously portioned and beautifully cooked, if I could have gotten away with licking the plates clean I would have.
Definitely worth a visit, and we will on our next visit to Harrogate.
A very welcoming place. The staff friendly and the food excellent. Full of flavour and good sized portions. The atmosphere was warm and the restaurant clean and tidy. Will return on another trip to Harrogate. Highly recommend.
We're fortunate to have numerous good quality restaurants in Harrogate, but The Tannin Level, which is independently owned, is on another level. The restaurant has a lovely relaxed atmosphere, the staff and service are consistently good and the food exceptional. The chef is clearly very talented and the evening 'Special' of fillet of cod with crab and prawn soufflé, Queenie scallops veloute, etc, was spectacular The desserts and accompanying dessert wine were absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend it.
Fantastic lunch meal for my wife's birthday. First time visit and would highly recommend.
Superb service, very attentive and helpful.
Lunch menu was very reasonably priced.
January mid week when we visited so fairly quiet.
Fairly unpretentious. Front of house staff good, but the waiting staff would benefit from a bit more training and experience; they're trying hard though! Food is good and a nice selection of reasonable wines. It's not fine dining but it's honest dishes done well. Will definitely be back as it's the best we've found in Harrogate so far (and we've been trying hard!)
A celebratory meal for our Wedding anniversary. We could not have been more pleased with the amazing service and exceptional food .The staff were attentive and the food mouthwatering. This place is worth all of the praise bestowed and glad we made the effort to travel and book . Scallops melt in your mouth , trio of pork , a blend of perfectly matched flavours & steak medallions that I stole a taste of.
Absolutely outstanding food - the mixed platter starter is fantastic, the fish, the fish cakes, the paté, the chorizo, etc, 10/10. Gorgeous beef main course, meat flaky and tender. Great service. Reasonably priced for the excellent standard of food and service. Highly recommended.
Excellent food, they only serve 175 ml wine glass which is always known as a medium and 9.50 for a rioja which is very expensive, they refused to serve drinks in the back room as the card machine does not work, either ask for cash or ask to add it to the bill do not leave guests thirsty. The waitress could not squeeze between the chairs in the back room so made it very uncomfortable being pushed and shoved by the waitress. We did have an excellent quality meal.
Thank you so much for a lovely evening on Saturday. The food was excellent and your staff so friendly and helpful. We will certainly come back the next time we are in Harrogate and would recommend you to any friends visiting.
Great decor and great food. I could have picked at least three starters and three mains. The staff were very good - the hospitality industry being as it is at the moment, you could see they were rushed off their feet but still provided an excellent service.
Had a great time here. Food was exceptional and the staff were all great. Highly recommended
The family had a wonderful lunch - this was our Christmas celebration and it did not disappoint - all three of us had different starters and mains and all the dishes were beautifully presented and totally delicious.(goat cheese crème brûlée, French black pudding, Scallops followed by Duck, Cod, Lamb). We could not decide on a favourite as they all were so good. Ellie has made this a real gem - great atmosphere and very good service. A must in Harrogate dining 🙏🙏
Had dinner here with friends, of which two are vegans.
The vegans had the risotto with beetroot as a main. I think that £17 for a portion of beetroot risotto was pricey. It was eaten very quickly.
Tannin level is a nice restaurant but pricey.
One of Yorkshires outstanding restaurants- I first visited in 1991- the place, food, service are top quality with a rare informal refinement that is difficult to find. Their produce and preparation is second to one.
