Lovely takeaway on Saturday night. May be a cliche, but it was restaurant food in a tub. You could see that it had come from a restaurant. Prices were slightly more for the same dish from most other takeaways, but the portion size was great. Lovely quality food.
Wonderful friendly service and excellent food. We got plenty of advice on dishes and what authentic dishes would be best for us. Delicious and definitely worth a visit.

By far the best Indian restraunt me and my wife have ever been too. Not just based on ther food but the service is what really sets it apart. It's the American experience with the best Indian cuisine. The pickle tray is unreal.
We were recommended this restaurant so we called Saturday. The service and food were superb. Well worth the visit. Would definitely recommend .
Felt very welcome as soon as we stepped through the door, friendly attentive service and probably one of the best lamb saags I have ever tasted. Definitely recommend a visit.

Every time I visit Harrogate, I eat at Shalimar. I've lived all over the world, and eaten great food in many places. Shalimar is truly spectacular. I'm almost starting to visit Harrogate especially for Shalimar.
And King's Club.
Fantastic food. Asked for dishes that weren't on the menu, and it was not a problem for them to cook it. Very friendly staff and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend and will be back.

Second visit to shalimar when we've been to Harrogate. Beautiful food and friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit.
Always delicious, attentive and friendly staff, and good for couples, solo diners or larger groups.
Some interesting variations on the menu too, with a knowledgeable owner and team who reccomend so great dishes!

Well!!! what can I say about this genuinely authentic punjabi restaurant.....absolutely Amazing, fabulous and the true taste of punjab. Jamil Asghar owner and chef was a gentleman and the perfect host to what turned out to be an evening to remember and led me on a culinary journey back to the heart of punjab. The food was truly magnificent. Often in so many so called Indian restaurants the food is altered to cater for the Western pallete, this couldn't be further from the truth at Shalimar. Chef Jamil Asghar stamps his humble roots on ever dish that comes out of the kitchen. His ethos is simple, cook with high quality top ingredients and don't retract from proper home good food. Nothing added, nothing taken away and you've got the Best Indian restaurant that keep customers returning again and again to sample the traditional taste of Punjab. I couldn't recommend this establishment enough and I am so looking forward to my next visit. All the staff were, polite, friendly and attentive. Thank you again for a trip back home to enjoy savouring my culinary roots.
Staff and owner were great, had good chat. Offered us specials off the menu, which was superb. Made me a traditional homemade chai that wasn’t generally available. Good fun all round, which is not often you’ll find.
Very different food style and wonderful flavours, very enthusiastic and helpful family run restaurant, tried recommended special slow cooked beef, stunning.

The food is 💯 percent authentic Pakistani (lahori) food. It is halal of course.

Best Asian restaurant in Harrogate. The service was knowledgeable and attentive. We had 2 main dishes, the Dhunwander, and one off the menu which was a shin of beef. Both dishes were not too spicy, but actually delicious and plenty to share, plus enough left for a doggy bag.
Food was absolutely amazing, staff was great. And Jamil took care of me. Would definitely go there again. Went back next day also for dinner. Place was packed next day, had king prawn curry was amazing.
Really great service. We were a party of 19 people and they really looked after us. Great food and drinks.
Lovely meal tonight as a vegetarian. We had a bhaji starter between us which was excellent and full of different flavours and textures. Then we ordered some vegetarian side dishes and a full tarka dal to share. The dishes were very good but the tarka dal was a little disappointing and lacked flavour.
So deserving of 5 stars, would give more if allowed!! The staff are incredible;attentive and friendly always keeping an eye on things. The food was the best Indian I’ve personally tasted and worth every penny!! If in Harrogate definitely worth a visit!!☺️

Excellent food fantastic service. Party of 5 Inc 3 GF. Jamale the owner, said he would take our order and ensure the GF food was perfect, he did and it was. Really good night, attentive staff. Very busy, so got a bit noisy but good value for money. Even serve a choice of GF beers. Will definitely return.
