My son and his fiancé bought me an afternoon tea voucher, so I took my daughter along.
The place was charming, the staff excellent and there was ample to eat. The choice of sandwiches and delicious cakes was the best I have had. They even supplied us with a box to take home what we couldn't fit in! I would definitely recommend a visit. It was a real treat.

Had festive afternoon tea this afternoon with my mum, best friend and her mum. The food was amazing, the staff were very attentive and the place is beautifully decorated. It's great value for money as we couldn't eat it all and brought home our left overs in the cake boxes provided. Will definitely be returning! Thank you Mama Doreen's for a lovely afternoon!
Took my mum here for a birthday celebration. Preferred as an alternative to the now rather manufactured experience of Betty's. Mama Doreen's was far better value for money. Service was excellent, helpful and friendly and the whole family (ages 11 to 80+) enjoyed the beautifully presented sandwiches and cakes. Nothing was too much trouble. Thoroughly recommend and we'll be back in the future no doubt.
Absolutely brilliant place! We went for my younger sisters 12th birthday and had afternoon tea with the family. The food was amazing and the staff were even better. We caused a bit of chaos but they were all lovely and made us feel like we were no bother at all. Will definitely be visiting again!
After looking around on Trip advisor and seeing you were higher ranked than Bettys we decided to book here. We was certainly not disappointed!
We had the traditional afternoon tea which was absolutely amazing, so much choice and any left overs was boxed to takeaway.
I would drive from Chesterfield to Harrogate every day for the afternoon tea. Will highly recommend to others!

Had my daughters 10th Birthday here today with her friends and cannot recommend it highly enough! It was absolutely amazing & quote: “the best party ever!” The food / cakes / decorating cupcakes / milkshakes / sweets & the service was first class! A big thank you to our host who did an amazing job looking after us all - nothing was too much trouble! Thanks again!
Had a fabulous lunch, a mixture of Afternoon Tea (including the children’s version), jacket potato & panini’s, all of which were delicious. The staff were very friendly & welcoming, making a special day even more so.
Visited for the first time on Father’s Day for afternoon tea. Lovely place, and everyone loved the afternoon tea including our children. The birthday cake we ordered for my mum was also excellent and very reasonable.
Would definitely recommend and look forward to more visits!
Absolutely delicious. We will be back without a doubt. Prosecco afternoon tea for two and afternoon tea for two went down a treat and definitely helped my friend and I celebrate our 40 and 50th birthdays. Our chaps thoroughly enjoyed themselves as well. Definitely 5*.

What a gorgeous restaurant with friendly staff. Beautifully decorated inside with balloons and flowers. We visited for afternoon tea but there's a separate menu with other choices. Food was fresh and tasted good. Couldn't eat it all but that's no problem they gave us little takeaway boxes. And I loved the deserts. Who doesn't like sparkly strawberries 😂. I much preferred this over Betty's. Great atmosphere, would highly recommend you try this out. I'll definitely be back again. My daughter would love it here. Something special for a birthday with a group of friends.
Went here for my mum and dad's 50th wedding and anniversary wow what a treat a amazing selection selection of sandwiches and cakes.All freshly prepared and beautifully presented.The tea room is beautiful and the staff were very attentive all in all a fantastic experience can't wait to visit again.
Best place for breakfast in Harrogate. Lovely staff and great service. The food is amazing. We've been there many times now for breakfast and afternoon tea, and even had a couple of takeaway afternoon teas for birthday tea parties at home.
Enjoyed an absolutely gorgeous Afternoon Tea for an early mother’s day treat! The staff were attentive and had brilliant knowledge of the menu and what was available.
Such a great selection of food! So glad we could take some of the cakes home in a box to eat later on!

Wonderful, welcoming, attentive staff at this refined and pleasant "cupcakery" - but they do far more than gorgeous, fancy cupcakes. Really good hot chocolate. I had a fancy pink raspberry cupcake and it was lovely, but all their cakes looked tempting. Laid back Big Easy muso playing. Breakfasts served as well as cream teas. All the food that I saw being delivered to tables looked beautifully presented. Good place to go and treat yourself! Yum.

We had an amazing time having afternoon tea today! We were warmly welcomed upon arrival and showed us to our tables. We loved the ambience and the cuteness of the tearoom! There were plenty of choice if you didn’t want afternoon tea, plus they had vegan and gluten free options too. Our afternoon tea arrived quite quickly and the presentation was beautiful and inviting! We savoured every mouthful and enjoyed someone’s work in the preparation!
We also went to the cake counter afterwards and purchased 6 cupcakes to take home! Will definitely return again soon!!
Absolutely amazing afternoon tea at Mama Doreen’s! Service was brilliant as soon as we arrived to the moment we left. One of our party required a gluten free option and their sandwiches and cakes were some of the best they had tasted. A massive thank you for going the extra mile with the birthday cupcake. Highly recommended and we will be back.

Collected an afternoon tea for two takeaway which was beautifully presented and very tasty. There was def plenty of food (we had cake leftovers). It’s expensive so good for a treat.
