I don’t often leave reviews for places, well good ones anyway - today I will.
I’ve been here 4 times now and I’ve got to say the venue, staff & food are brilliant.
Kids love it, there is a great play area. My daughter ordered the pizza off of the kids menu, and they brought out the ingredients for her to make it how she wished - which she thoroughly enjoyed.
The selection of drinks is good, the wife particularly likes the variety of gins available.
The menu has something for everyone, I must say the sticky toffee pudding with salted caramel ice cream (best ever) is pretty darn amazing
Great food, great staff and such a lovely setting.
The T bone steak was one of the best ive eaten, well done chef and thank you
Visited on Friday night for a date with the Hubby. We were welcomed by very polite staff and shown to our table. Pre booked online, very easy and convenient. Bread and oils to start while we had a drink and looked at the menu. The front of house staff were very friendly and professional. We had fillet steak and a burger, both tasted amazing, I especially liked the pepper corn sauce. For dessert we had the long doughnuts (cant remember what they’re called) and the legendary sticky toffee pudding. Thanks for a lovely evening, amazing food, great service and relaxing atmosphere.
We have been here a few times and the food was amazing but most of all the staff were fantastic! All extremely helpful and cheerful! It's great for families too! We will definitely be back and can highly recommend!!
Lovely friendly staff and excellent food - a perfect night out with friends. I can thoroughly recommend the lamb shank and the panna cotta - absolutely delicious! The portions are very generous, so you must make sure you are really hungry when you go.
We have now been for lunch here 3 times and have never been dissapointed. The food is always perfect and the staff are fab. Most recently we went with 3 new babies and everything is catered for and plenty of room for our buggies. Thank you. We will be back again soon.
Beautiful pub and the most amazing views from the huge beer garden...great food and amazing service. Will be back soon
Third time here today and still amazed at the quality of the food. Superb! The staff are AMAZING as well and seriously went out of their way to fit us in even though they were busy. True gem of a place!
Thanks guys, you never let me down. First time here for a birthday celebration, food was top notch and the service was above and beyond. Keep up the fab work, will defo be back
Only been here twice, best pub and food out there! Loved how I booked last minute and there was space!
Fab staff and amazing food!!!!!
Have been here a couple of times now , I can only echo what others have written the staff are a credit to the place and so young and polite , anyway the food is well worth the trip
Went out with the family (7 of us) for a meal and couldn't be happier with the evening.
The staff were attentive upon arrival and made us feel welcome for the entirety of our visit.
Service was second to none, we weren't kept waiting at all for either food or drinks - my wife was particularly pleased there was non-alcoholic gin on offer.
A special hat nod to the chefs, in the words of my father-in-law "the food was to die for" - I had the spicy burger which I strongly recommend to anyone!!
There were two 9 year olds with us who were kept entertained with the play area outside and then activity sheets to complete inside.
The atmosphere of the whole place was fantastic and it was great to see a local pub doing so well on a weekday.
Will definitely be returning very soon.
10/10
We met here for a family dinner. I chose the steak salad bowl it was divine! Massive portion. The pub is opposite Warner's Gin. It is child friendly with fish & chips plus sticky toffee pudding for £10. The kids loved it. There is an outdoor play area along with lots of outdoor seating. The pub is a family pub supporting local producers. A lovely find. The service was a little slow but it was a midweek meal and they were training new staff.
Friendly, attentive staff, good, tasty food, children warmly welcomed, and lots of colouring activities immediately brought out for them. Service was prompt and staff were always available but without being pushy or in the way.
We visited for my mum's birthday, which was mentioned on the online booking and staff were quick to wish her a happy birthday.
We had hanger steak and burgers, fish and chips on the kids menu, beer, cider and desserts. The hanger steak wasn't quite as good as I've had elsewhere, but equally, it wasn't bad. And the portions were a nice manageable size which makes a difference to wasteful huge portions.
Beautiful lunch followed by the best sticky toffee pud I've had in a long time. All staff were lovely.
It was also my partners birthday and as we were leaving gave us a card signed by them with a voucher, which was a lovely touch.
This was a lunchtime visit on a road trip to Stafford and we'll worth the stop. The staff were amazingly friendly, the food great and ample portions (we couldn't finish the onion rings that were the best we've ever had). Just lovely.
Great service, amazing location and building. Food was good but some complaints. Steak was good quality and well cooked but under seasoned and wild garlic butter had too faint a taste, almost tasted like regular unsalted butter with a slight grassiness. Definitely would have preferred some kind of regular or roasted garlic butter. Chips and onions rings were great but no regular coca cola only coke zero, bizarre.
This pub is a bit off the beaten track but well worth the effort. The food was good and they accommodate some allergies/intolerances, eg GF and my meal was adapted for dairy free. It's reasonably priced and the service was very good.
It is disabled friendly but may be worth checking with them, dependent on the disability. We had no problem with a rollator, so I would imagine a wheelchair would be fine.
The lavatories are clean and there is a disabled facility.
Would definitely recommend a visit, if in the area.

It's a destination pub with great food and great facilities

Keep up the good work guys your doing a grand job
If you ever want to expand Nottinghamshire needs you 😁
Absolutely fantastic establishment. A very warm welcome, helpful, polite and attentive staff. Food was excellent. Simply cannot fault anything. We will definitely be back very soon.
Idyllic country pub. Son has just moved to Northampton so we travelled down to see him from Yorkshire, he looked online and found this beauty. We visited on a sunny day and wish we'd arrived earlier to have drinks outside because the views were amazing. The food and service were great. I had pie which was delicious although didn't come with much so be sure to order potatoes or chips. My husband and son had rump and hanger steak. My husband said the steak was a little tough but on the whole enjoyed it and was cooked perfectly. My son said his hanger steak was beautiful. Ordered extra onion ring and these were superb!! Find it a little weird they only do Coke Zero especially given that not everyone likes artificial sweeteners. All in all though a lovely day and meal celebrating my sons birthday
