The taste and service were great, we came to the branch located in the harringay area, as always, incredibly tasty and we were satisfied thanks to the interested staff, thanks for everything
I’ve been a regular customer of this spot for many years even with their original branch in Dalston hackney.
I popped in last night to break my fast with my partner and the meal was good as always. We both got lamb ribs which were very succulent and juicy. As starters the table gets bombarded with on house goodies such as tzatziki, hummus, green salad, onion salad, warm pita and a lovely grilled onions in its own marinated sauce/juice which is making my mouth water as I type this! We also ordered a portion of lamb liver which just hit the spot before our mains came.
We both had their home made ayran which is a traditional salty yoghurt drink consumed in the Turkish culture which compliments the meat you’re having.
To top it off we devoured our classical Turkish tea and couldn’t have been happier. The service is always on point the main grill chef Kemal is friendly with the food being delicious.
Check them out, awesome spot!
The lamb ribs were out of this world, came with delicious spicy humous, mint yoghurt, and very fresh and tasty salads. Highly recommended!
This is where one should go when they miss authentic Turkish food and cafe vibes (and my Turkish friend brought me here, so).
Let's start with the complimentary sides, which are pretty common in Turkey. And they tasted as good as they look in the photo.
Kebabs were well done and there's not much to say about this.
The portions are generous as well. I also liked how they kept topping up our bread basket with steamy fresh bread.
Finally, staff is just friendly and attentive: pouring tea, making sure all is good.
Would totally recommend.
Delicious food time and time again.
Highly recommend the liver and wings.
Friendly service and a menu with a good selection of dishes and different styles of kebab. Generous portions with side dishes like grilled onion in pomegranate juice, onion salad with sumac as well as the usual bread and dips alongside a decent salad. The mixed chicken and lamb adana and chicken shish and adana were tasty and of good quality meat (great value at £17 each). The only disappointment is their chilli sauce is from a bottle and not homemade.
I looooove Umut! It is my go to Turkish restaurant, I get the same thing every time and I’m never disappointed! I get the grilled chicken and bulgur rice (would highly recommend) and the pricing is pretty reasonable,T he atmosphere is so comfortable and cozy, and the staff can not do more for you, the toilets are clean, il not eat at any other Turkish restaurant.
The only downside is, I love my Turkish tea, and I hate to constantly have to call the waiter over for more tea, what would be ideal (for me anyway) would be to have a small tea pot at my table to fill up when I’m low on tea.
That being said, I have never had a bad experience at Umut and I would suggest this place to anyone who asks me for a decent Turkish restaurant
The food there is simply outstanding, with flavors that are incredibly delicious. It's safe to say that this place has become one of my favorites. The quality of the food is exceptional.
I go here almost every month. The food is so authentic and the quality has always been the amazing. I would recommend this place for everyone as it has a great range of food options and the food is always fresh.
I've been eating down Green Lanes for a few years now, but hadn't yet tried umut 2000. A major omission on my part, as it's some of the best Turkish food I've had in a long time. Flavoursome, tender, good value. Will definitely be back.
