Lovely and unique pub, in a great location. There is ample parking and the pub is in a quiet location, with a really nice outdoor garden style seating. Being right next to the river/canal means there are great walking paths too.
We went here for a small meal & drinks to celebrate our daughters 28th birthday. It was between lunch & dinner on a Friday so not too many diners present. The food was really top notch as you expect from a Green King establishment. We didn't wait too long for our meals after placing our order maybe
Food is fine, nothing amazing but okay pub food. I did think this serving of beef burnt ends as a steak topper was poor though, it’s pulled meat not burnt ends!
Great service from the whole team though.
Edit to add, following the response from the pub, the burnt ends are listed on the menu as "Fla
Lovely meal. Popped in here on way home after weekend away. Food was very nice, staff very friendly and atmosphere good and very family friendly. Only down side I would say is after we were given our mains no one came to ask if everything was OK. If they had of I would have asked for some brown sauc
Came here for dinner and sat outside. Beautiful scenery by the river.
Service is quick and the staff are friendly.
The food was delicious and was a perfect proportion for 2 with the sharing platter. Highly recommended!
Good food and friendly service not an easy place to get too as you have to go in back road to get too it .
Went after Christmas for a child's Birthday, disappointed the play room was not available as this was one of the reasons for booking.
Lovely location by the river, would imagine it will be really busy in warmer months.
The day we went the place was really quiet.
Food was pub food ,nice but nothing s
Came for a Sunday dinner and was NOT disappointed, cr@ps all over 'the home of the roast'. The ladies running food were so brilliant and topped up my gravy with a smile, I can't remeber their names but Will behind the bar was very lovely. Most importantly, the roast potatoes are 10/10, crispy on the
Excellent service, food good, we had the fajitas. Comfortable surroundings.
Kane was our waiter and sorted out our beers, he was really efficient and polite.
We use this place regularly and have never been disappointed.
What an amazing experience we had by visiting here on Sunday. Firstly we was welcomed in by a lovely man named Paul. Once seated we were served by a charming gentleman who took our order and was so helpful. The food was amazing from start to finish. And the price was so good. Thank you to the whole
Not my 1st visit here and certainly won't be my last. Lovely venue inside or out. With it being a hot sunny day, we opted to sit at an outside table near the canal, which was nice and peaceful. Was fairly busy and a few families had clearly arranged to meet up, but there was plenty of space for ever
Lovely helpful staff, friendly.
I usually have trouble eating out due to food allergies, this place has a great gluten free menu and the chef even adapted the meal for my dairy intolerance.
Could not praise the moorhen enough.
What a fantastic pub this is now. I used to come here when it was the Hungry Horse which was large portions and cheap prices and although the portion sizes are not quite the same now, the quality is far superior and the decor inside is that of an upmarket restaurant. The setting is lovely and and th
Our extended family had Christmas Dinner at The Moorhen Christmas afternoon. The food was lovely, hot, large portions and served quickly. Our waitress (Sue A) was friendly and helpful throughout. Thankful for their help on Christmas day!! The restaurant was beautifully decorated and we had a private
