An unexpected delight. We hoped for good pub grub to warm us up as we were camping nearby at Hanley Swan campsite. We were advised to book even in Tuesday evening in March and indeed it was busy with a lovely atmosphere. The service however was attentive and friendly and the food was fantastic and beautifully cooked. One of the best meals out we have had in ages, obviously freshly prepared with imagination and love by the chef. Highly recommended and we will definitely come back if we are nearby again. A great dining experience.
Beautiful pub in a gorgeous setting. Food here is to die for & the service is top notch. Comfortable furniture in the garden area & even the ducks pop in to say hi! Sunday roast is my favourite but it's always tricky picking from the main menu as you know it's all going to be so tasty. Highly recommend a visit, you won't be disappointed!! :)
Ate there Sunday, amazingly good beef and the dessert and cheeseboard were to die for. Cracking good value for quality food. Would highly recommend and will be back.
First of all I will start by saying there are a lot of pubs in this area that could learn a lot from the Swan when it comes to service and food.
We couldn't fault any of the food we had, the game pie being particularly great,it had been a while since we had been but we won't leave it quite so long until we come back.
Well done to all the staff especially the chef for a fantastic menu.
Fantastic atmosphere and food. Can honestly say it is the nicest place I have been to in a long time. The landlord was very friendly towards customers an staff. A solid 5/5 from me, would recommend.
We just had a lovely dinner last night at the Swan Inn and all I could say is 'Thank you ' . Everything was absolutely amazing , the stuff , the atmosphere, especially the food. Best place I ever eat in UK ! Highly recommend !!!
Amazing find! Excellent service, fab food, great beers and huge gin selection. Highly recommend this b&b for a relaxing break and unbelievable value for money.
Travelling past and decided to stop for Sunday lunch. As we had not booked in advance. There was some worry from the bar staff that kitchen capacity would not be able to fit us in for at least 30 mins. We initially decided that we would finish our drinks and go somewhere else as we had a 3 hour drive ahead of us to return home. However, on my second sip of my pint (a very nice Butty Bach) a waitress popped over and said they can fit us in. We were asked if we would like to go through to the restaurant area. We actually asked if we could stay where we where, as I had, dare I say a very comfy seat in the corner.
This was not a problem and the waitress quickly brought cutlery to us. Orders taken. We awaited our food. I had a starter. The Glouscester old spot pork belly. Very nice it was as well.
The mains arrived. Beef for the wife and lamb for myself. This I will make the first criticism of the meal. The waitress asked how would we like the meat cooked. Medium rare for the beef an medium for the lamb. Now I will admit, from what we asked for it was quite overcooked. But as it looked like it came from a joint, 2 big slices each. I can't but wonder how the kitchen can truly cook to order. Meat still lovely but just a wonder.
Veg very nicely cooked (parsnips really nice) and all was well until the Yorkshire pudding. Which is my second criticism. Nothing wrong with it. But my Mother in Law is from deepest darkest Yorkshire and just in case she reads this, they were no where near as good as hers!
Overall a very nice meal and really glad we decided to stop.
All the staff were friendly and welcoming and attentive, without being in your face.
If we ever happen to be in that neck of the woods again. We would definitely pop in again.
Food was exactly as we hoped it would be from reading the menu struggled to choose as it all sounded so good. Good service friendly locals and staff made us feel welcome. Would make a point of going back again next time we are in the area
Paid our fourth visit to The Swan at lunchtime today. We ordered the Game Pie and the Salmon. Both meals were delicious and beautifully presented. We received excellent customer service from the friendly, well trained staff. Fast becoming our favourite place to eat. Thank you.
Excellent service, great food, very friendly atmosphere, fantastic dog friendly staff and we will definitely be going back there again.
We had been out on a bright but cold day and had taken longer than we thought missing lunch...
Stopped off at the Swan... having only been for a quick drink outside before..
The staff were welcoming the dining room in the conservatory was warm and the food and drink were superb ..definitely visit again.
The service and food were great. We got the whitebait with mayonnaise which was really tasty. It's deep fried so if you're not into fried food than maybe skip this. But we really enjoyed it. We also ordered the Sunday roast. We got a pork and a lamb. It was one of the better Sunday roasts we've had. Very tasty meat, good serving of vegetables, lots of gravy and a big yorkie. The meat was very tender and well cooked.
Pleasant country pub with a lovely outdoor seating area. Food and service were good,. Stayed in the "Gooseberry" bedroom which was clean and comfortable. The only issue was the kitchen extractor fan which created quite a loud hum in the room until it was switched off in the evening
You see a lot of Karen's claiming on Google reviews that a venue is their favourite restaurant/pub.
My name isn't Karen, but this is my favourite pub, it is perfect.
Food is incredible. It isn't your every day English pub menu, lots of interesting and culinary delights to be had, executed well and at reasonable prices.
Service is impeccable, even when they're packed and rushed off their feet, well played team.
The decor indoors and outdoors is great throughout the year, offering a variety of cosy and inviting, no matter the weather. (Very important in the UK).
Top tier pub in a beautiful village 🙌
Fantastic find on a weekend in Hanley Swan, went in for a coffee after a morning walk, stayed a while so had a sherry and a beer, ended up coming back for dinner on the afternoon.
Rustic but posh pub, food is a little bit on the expensive side for us but was a treat for a weekend away so went for it, food was delicious and staff lovely.
You have to book for the dining area but can eat in the pub part without booking and it is just as lovely. Rustic heavy wooden tables and board games in the corner for the children which we all enjoyed, playing draughts and Uno.
Overall a really great place and would love to go back again x
Great Sunday lunch with vegetarian option, limited gluten free options available, great selection of drinks, few ales and cider, extensive wine list. Staff really lovely and friendly. Dog friendly, large beer garden.
Enjoyed an Evening meal at the Swan recently, it was a special occasion and the staff did everything to make the occasion memorable, the atmosphere was lovely and relaxed and the service was exceptional, the meal demonstrated high quality presentation using quality ingredients and the wine list was extensive, it wasn't the cheapest meal we have ever had (£130 for 2 with quality wine & pre-drinks) but then had we wanted that there are other places to visit, Toby Carvery (cheap and cheerful) this isn't; but if you're looking for quality then I can highly recommend The Swan.
We were only passing but stopped in at the Swan Inn. The bar has real character and the restaurant and garden areas are amazing, a lot of thought has gone into their design. Dog friendly and we wish we had eaten there as the food looked lovely.
Lovely pub but was very disappointed we couldn't order food for an hour after arriving.
Seems they were too busy to take any more orders 😞 so we had to resort to crisps. Not great.
We stayed at a caravan site and went to this pub for an evening meal. To say we are impressed is an understatement. As soon as we were seated the first thing they did was bring iur dog a fresh bowl of water. We then had the most amazing food delivered with pride which is rare. They make pub food but on a level that you must try. Worth every penny. Thankyou guys
Walked here with three family members whilst staying on the Malvern Hills CAMC campsite down the road. Great pub with good service and friendly staff. Food was good overall although my pork was slightly overcooked. We ate in the conservatory which had a nice atmosphere and pretty fairy lights all round. We booked in advance to be sure of getting a table, but be aware that they take card details for bookings and charge £30pp if you cancel… which could end up costing more than actually turning up and having a meal!!
A walk from the campsite along path on busy road but OK with dog & torches. Excellent food & service. Very dog friendly.
We stopped off here for a night. Food was excellent - really good evening meal and a great breakfast. The room was on the small side but very clean and well decorated. Very dog friendly.
The Swan Inn at Hanley Swan is in an idyllic setting in Worcestershire near to the Malvern Hills and the Three Counties Showground. It's a popular pub and maintains a calm, peaceful atmosphere.
The dining areas are varied from the cosy original bar area to the ambience of the more formal contemporary rooms. The decor flows perfectly from one to the other.
The menu is comprehensive and the food is very good served by efficient, friendly staff. There is outdoor seating and an indoor/outdoor area which works very well if you prefer not to eat outdoors but still want to appreciate the surroundings.
A wonderful pub in a beautiful Worcestershire hamlet. Great food, even the sandwiches are amazing and great service, lovely beer garden. Sophisticated without being pretentious.
August update. The Sunday lunch is great too.
Phoned The Swan in a dilemma after booking for a family b/day celebration fell through at another location. Staff could not have been more accommodating, and we had a wonderful evening with great food, friendly service and a lovely atmosphere and setting. Could not have been more impressed - 10/10 across the board.
Arrived at 6pm without a reservation but they managed to find us a table in the restaurant (we would definitely recommend booking next time). Superb food using quality fresh ingredients. I had pork and my husband enjoyed the duck. The accompanying vegetables complimented the meal. The dessert was a delight..... I had a chocolate concoction surrounded by fruits and creams........ Truly amazing! The service was excellent; the ambiance and decor perfect. Like us several diners appeared to be from the nearby campsite. Can't wait to return.
Review for restaurant. Lovely atmosphere, bit rowdy in the bar area due to a large party of people. Once seated, though, it was a lovely, calm atmosphere, and the staff were spot on. The food was fabulous, I had the hake on samphire with roasted news potatoes, hake was beautifully cooked. Good lady had Gressingham duck which was also very tasty, it was slighly cool, so we suspect it had stood a little while before being served, didn't detract too much from the meal as it was still very enjoyable. We will certainly be returning.
