We had my daughters 18th on 28th October. Josh, Alyssa,Matt and team made us feel so welcome. They even put our decorations up before we arrived in the evening. The food was great and the atmosphere was lovely. The team were brilliant and nothing was too much for them. We and the birthday girl had a great night. We will definitely continue our custom. Thank you xx
They were out of fish when I went, so we did the carvery.
I did the large, and my friend did the standard.
Just go for the turkey and beef, skip the ham, they were so tender, juicy, and cooked so well. You can load up your plate with all the sides you want. Everything is good, and loadup on the delicious gravy... Skip the pigs in a blanket and pay for extra Yorkshire pudding.
When you arrive, you get a table, then have to go up to the bar to place your order and pay. A little unusual for North Americans but fairly regular for UK folks.
JR was a warm welcome with swift seating. The crew have been exceptionally friendly and bubbly. Ratings to the chefs for sweating it out in the kitchen to deliver a post festival performance treat!
I will be back soon
I landed here for dinner after quitting my usual Toby's carvery because they were fully booked. And right now I'm very glad I did it, because it turned out to be definitely better!
I had the carvery (standard option), and comparing to what I knew (from Toby's) it was a more pleasant experience.
The food is good and fairly priced, the perceived quality is good, the staff is helpful, and the place was not too busy.
The only thing that's less positive is the fact that there is a "wait here to be seated" sign at the entrance, while it seemed to me the servers were surprised to see me there waiting for someone to turn up.
Really cozy atmosphere with spacious seating areas. Food is better than most of the pubs, serves fresh and clean.
Great carvery! It’s been my post-festival saviour this summer. Such a great selection of veggies. Thank you team
Really enjoyed my dinner here. Was a little sceptical on initial arrival. Order food on the app and was really tasty. Good portion size and good value for money. Would definitely recommend the Hunters Chicken. Staff were friendly and helpful. Pints were fresh and cold. Also a massive fan of the giant slices of cake!! Had to indulge in a Cake-away after my main.
Went up to get carvery, looked to me as if everything was out, but was snapped at and told that food would be another 25 minutes as they were running behind. I decided that I'd skip carvery and have a pudding instead. Pudding (sticky toffee pudding and ice cream) took 20 minutes to come out. Was so cold that the ice cream wouldn't melt.
Had similar issues with breakfast a few weeks ago. Hardly any food out so, had to wait. It was all over cooked.
Will stick with Badminton Arms for carvery and Masons Arms for breakfast.
Fantastic food and great friendly service as always. Have been coming here since it opened. Would highly recommend main menu and the fresh carvery best in the area!
Absolutely recommend this place to everyone. It was spotlessly clean, very comfortable, the food and atmosphere is very nice, but the icing on the cake are the fabulous staff. So helpful and welcoming. One word of warning tho. I'm only 5'8" and in the darkness at the entrance didn't see a hanging basket of flowers when I turned around to chat to my wife. Hit my head on the bottom of it which opened up a gash on the top of my head, I've still got a sore lump!!. Not one to make a fuss It didn't spoil an otherwise fabulous evening, and didn't detract from my 5* review.
My better half and me went here on the Sunday afternoon without a reservation. This is the second time this month. We were told to have a drink by the bar and they will call us in 30 minutes. The first time we were called no more then 10 minutes. The second time was about 15 minutes. It might be because there was only 2 of us that we had a table so quick. The food was excellent and don’t look at the cakes!!! We would recommend to book so not being disappointed if more than 2 people.
It was not a very good experience when we went for breakfast last Sunday with the family. They didn't have any veg sausages, and the pork sausages looked undercooked, we also had to wait 5 minutes for the hashbrowns from the breakfast buffet.
Ordered food and drinks got served after the rest of our party had finished their food. Smoke from the kitchen set the alarm off while we were halfway thorough eating our food.
We all agreed we wouldn't be going back there again for breakfast.
Brilliant food and fantastic service. Always enjoy coming here
Sign said wait to be seated but after a few minutes we just chose our own table - 2 of us ordered through app, 2 ordered at the bar same time… food showed up nearly 10mins apart which was slightly annoying but overall food for price was decent. Service was very friendly - also offered us a slice of cake each to leave this review which Is a good idea as it would probably just get thrown in the bin anyways!
Always great service and lovely food from the menu, but don't get the beef if you're going for a carvery unless you're partial to a lot of chewing. Had to ask for a steak knife to cut through it and still struggled even then.
