A friendly old style pub. No loud music, extremely well kept beer and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. A place I would love to have as my local.

Great cosy little pub with amazing food. We ordered Sunday dinner just before 2 and been informed there will be a wait and we were in no rush. Well it was definitely worth a wait! Absolutely amazing food, great service, family and dog friendly! Thank you

Loved this place from the second we walked in! Great ales, brilliant food (I had the Steak and Wolf Ale pie, the greedy one had the lamb!!) Both dishes were huge, tasty and lovely vegetables. Honestly say it is the best food served in a pub we've had...ever! Jackie was our hostess on each visit and she was professional, friendly, humerous and extremely hard working. Cannot speak any more highly of the place!

Huge thanks to the staff at the Bull. Horrendous weather conditions - they have remained open, with roaring fire, food and drink. This welcoming pub really is the heart of our town.

What a great find! We were parched and hungry, having climbed Steel Craggs at Hadrian's Wall. Love this quirky little pub. Friendly staff, superb food! We'll be back next time we're in the UK.

Couldn't really fault this pub, visited a few days ago, very pleasant outdoor seating area. If I am being critical, if would be improved by having a better vegetarian selection of meals, but they were tasty and well presented, see photo. Staff were very pleasant. Well worth a visit

Lovely traditional style pub, plenty of alrs and beers to choose from. We went for food but not serving currently on a Mon/Tues/Wed as quite early in the season. This will probably change further into summer so best to check if you are expecting to eat there. We sat outside, nice little suntrap.

Called here for a family meal. Food was pleasant however Billies famous sausage does not deserve to be famous. What probably started as a nice fat sausage ended up as a shrivelled sausage.

The pub has good food, is dog friendly (but maybe a bit to small for big dogs (gordon setter)) and has a very nice and friendly atmosphere.

Decent enough pub and good beer but staff may have been a bit more pleasant and friendly. Perhaps they were having an "off" day.

I took accommodation here for a few nights and I thought it to be very good value. My room was large and spacious. It has a TV and I was provided with tea/coffee and light refreshment. The staff in the pub were friendly and helpful. There is one other room here and a shared bathroom on the corridor but I had the place all to myself for the duration of my stay. Highly recommended.

Popular with locals and tourists. Good selection of local ales. Just off the main street, so you could miss it if you didn't know it was there. Worth a visit.

What a great pub. We called in whilst having a week's holiday locally, great atmosphere and excellent pints. No food on our first visit, but returned on the Thursday and were not disappointed. Home cooked food, well done and reasonably priced. Excellent atmosphere and friendly banter. We'll be back.
