The food at the new Indian Restaurant in the pub is amazing. The portions are large. I recomend the Chicken Madras or Dansak, and the Veg Rice. The new layout is like a Tardis, bigger on the inside than you think. I can see myself putting on a few punds in weight here trying the menu.

Lovely place , food excellent and very reasonable. The steak was really good and the beef bourguignon ( which my wife had ) was also good. This is a new venture for the chef and I recommend anyone living in the vicinity to visit to help make it a success, I'm sorry I was only passing through on my way back to Wales .

Lovely pub with a bright and well-kept beer garden. The staff are polite and they're dog friendly. Not an enormous selection of ales, but I do love a pint of Atlantic, so I'm happy.

Had a brilliant time at the five bells, we went to St Andrews lake and wanted a pub meal afterwards. The staff in the pub were top class and were really friendly, we came with our kids and they was happy to serve us. What really made the experience was the chef came out after we finished our meal and wanted to hear feedback about his food which personally was really nice, but we had a few improvements but let’s be honest we are not chef, he was so open to feedback and I felt like he really listened and took onboard our opinions which was really refreshing as most places don’t care if you enjoyed the food or not. As long as you pay that’s all they care about but the fact the chef came out made me go from doing a 4* to 5*. My family and I are a fan of smash burgers and given the portion we was given which was (cheeseburger, hash brown, bacon with cajón chips) we felt it would suit the burger if it was a smash patty. The chef took on board our feedback so positively and we will be look at coming back again when we come up these ways. Also the Guinness was spot on, compared to many other pubs I’ve been too down these ways it tastes watery but the five bells knows how to pull a good pint of the black stuff. 5/5 would highly recommend the five bells will be coming back again.

Stopped at the Five Bells for lunch. I chose the Ploughman's which was delicious. My husband chose fish & chips, the piece of fish was enormous and my husband said his meal was also delicious. We would certainly recommend the Five Bells and will be visiting it again for lunch.

Located next to one of the most historic sites in North Kent: the Early Middle Ages Bishop's Palace & ancient church. This cute pub has views of the historic wall with cloistered windows over the tranquil bend of the Medway River. Used to be a Roman vineyard & then Rochester Cathedral ran winegrowers in Halling for the "Old Palace" for centuries. Kings & Queens, Canterbury Archbishops & London barristers drank Halling wine! Some even visited Bishops of Rochester who lived in this quaint village still full of rural life - pheasants, arable & livestock farming plus a local butchery in a farm shop! .
